I'd love to apologise on behalf of the British that they didn't recognise how great these songs was or the stiffs in the audience, I'd have been going mental
I think the first time I saw them (Music video for "Mental Hopscotch") I sat in front of the TV with the same expression. The amazing musicianship, Dale's killer figure, clothes, etc. It was a LOT to take in! Haha.
I was just a teenager when this song came out and my buddy visited L.A. He called to say he was having a blast and was going to walk to his next stop. I told him, " Nobody Walks in L.A." 😆 Great song. The whole band rocks! The audience? Not so much. 🙄
Thanks for preserving this time in music ..... So Cool. I was really into New-Wave back then. I was young, had no money of my own, and parents who were complete D**ks, so I never got to see any of these cool bands live. Hearing them on the radio was my only outlet, then as I got older I was heavy into the club scene ( best years of my life ) and heard everything cool at the time that way. I finally got to see some great bands live, but so many I missed. This was awesome for me because Missing Persons played NYC and I never got to see them, So Thanks for going to the trouble to put this video up on UA-cam !!!!
What a lovely comment. Back in the early to mid 80’s in the UK we had a great live music show called the Tube which went out live early Friday evening. A great showcase for new bands. I was introduced a number a American artists such as REM, 10,000 Maniacs, the Call and of course Missing Persons. This was their first UK appearance, many comments about the audience who had basically never seen anything like MP at the time, their music and style was so unique, especially in the fashion and “ tribe” driven youth culture of the UK. I don’t remember them ever Touring the UK or I guess I would of gone. Didn’t get to see the Call either.
@@pcramon Wow - that sounds like a cool show ! I don’t know if maybe it’s something in the water across the pond, but I’ve always felt the UK had a clear edge on musical talent compared to the rest of the globe 🌍 , and in the 80’s in my mind - no one even came close. What an amazing place it must be to be the hub of so much creativity through EVERY Generation. I’m not surprised you guys had broadcasts like that ! I really have to get there and make a pilgrimage, I am a huge Joy Division fan , and then New Order just continued to be absolutely brilliant throughout the 80’s. Thanks for the reply - you seem cool as F**k ✅😆❗️
I grew up during late 1970's and early 1980's and saw a few shows. Ramones, Meat Loaf, Talking Heads, Dead Boys, Tuff Darts/Runaways . . . but not everyone. Many bands mostly played LA or did big festivals. Back then, records/tapes/CD's actually could sell from radio play and that was their primary income stream.
Following link to full Tube Show which includes the 3 track uninterrupted set by MP’s. 55.40.

Terry Bozzio is a monster on the skins.
You mean that cute little drummer? The one who fell in love with Punky Meadows?
Almost a bit too fast, but not as bad as US Festival 🙈

I am really enjoying your comment😀
I was around for them. Awesome.
You're saying you would have done Mental Hopscotch ???
Brita don't do that, it's an American thing!
Dude, they weren't at a concert, they were in a studio! They'd have been told to maintain decorum or get thrown out!
It's called 'the TOPT effect'...
Saw Missing twice in SO CAL in 1984!
Lucky shit lol
She sounds great.
Great Performance, either audience was moved from a Zombie movie set or in absolute shock.

It's a British audience. Nuff said.
They're in a studio!! Been TOLD how to behave!
Wow they're on top of their game at that point.

I love Dale.

Love those snow globes!
i had the LP back then mid 80s. loved the sound. I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB and was bored to tears there. MTV kept me alive
mid 80's for me was Misawa AFB Japan
God Genius lyrics, awesome 80's music, angelic squeaky vocals, Zappa-like musicianship, punk/techno perfection.
Former members of Frank Zappas Band
Uma banda toda de muito bom gosto !!!!

I remember seeing them at the Cypress Club in Tampa a long long time ago 🌴🌴
Awesome. Lovely to see. Channel 4 (UK) 11th March 1983
Surprisingly, they weren't as big in the UK as much as being big here back in the day
Nice Fucking Video!
Dale bozio should do a song with lady gaga and cyndi lauper. That would be great.
Keep it rolling; throw in Wendy James too!
Terry playing the roto toms
Kick ass song...
As heard on Drew Carey's "Friday Night Freak-Out" via Underground Garage on SXM

This band was organic, not an industry creation.
