Without a doubt... always been a favorite of mine, and this performance is for the time capsule. Anyone asks me why Josh is my favorite musician ever, I put on this and Them Crooked Vultures' "Spinning In The Daffodils" live @ Fuji Rock.
For me, this is the best song on QOTSA's 'Lullabies to Paralyze' album. I love Josh and Troy's trippy guitar work and Alain's haunting basslines on this epic track.
I always knew this was one of their best pieces but I just never gave it enough attention to get into it. After watching this amazing videos it's now one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Queens song.
Homme and the rest of Queens of the Stone Age are some of the most innovative musicians around. its so nice to hear these riffs and time signatures that weve never heard before
I've seen Queens 3 times, gonna see them in August again but this is one show I really really wish I could have gone to. The set, the playing... perfect.
Wait so you complemented him when you thought he was Grohl but now that hes Castillo you put him down? Either way, Joeys responsible for both the album and live version seen here. Joeys a kick ass drummer, he had big shoes to fill and he took those shoes and threw them away for some big stompin' boots.
I locked my nana into a cupboard coz she was bold and let this song on full blast on repeat... She'll never be the same... But She'll never steal my peanuts again...
this is the most perfect set. i wish i was here so much. the crowd, the lighting, the whole atmosphere - just perfect. what a great way to start a show.
HOLY SHIT!!! I NEED to see them alive they are so great alive this is one of those moments in life when I feel happy to were born so I can enjoy their music directly to the hall of fame (i hope)
such a cool sound.....I could see how their melodies can be like a fine wine....gets better with every listen....I really dig all their music from Rated R through Era Vulgaris....just cool ass music
Yes it's not an easy one..meaning it's not something you can just bat off ,especially the guitar parts..the unison octaves and the main riff have a timing thing where you have to really stay on to keep it in the pocket..
For me, this is the best song from the 'Lullabies to Paralyze' album. Both the trippy guitar work and haunting basslines really stand out on this track. The fact that this is a live perfomance makes this video even more interesting!
Don't get me wrong, I think Josh has a great voice live. He can hit some insane notes and I've always been impressed with all their live shows. But I was waiting this whole song for that falsetto part in the chorus, and it didn't happen. I can't blame him though. But I love how they at least did it with the guitar. Great original band.
once your lost in twilight's blue.. you don't find your way.. the way finds youuuu... i've never taken acid.. but i can imagine this album playing somewhere in the background of any trip.
@dante224real1 i used to be deadset on songs for the deaf being my favorite of theirs, but as the years go by i find myself going back to lullabies more and more. i think when its all said and done and someone 50 years from now takes the time to look back, your statement will ring true. all their albums are outstanding, but for the solid focus and the way the album flows beginning to end, lullabies is definitely their finest work.
I think this is the best surfaced concert of the Lullabies to Paralyze era and at least top 5 ever. -Troubadour with Dave -Visions 2002 -BDO 2003 -Montreux 2005 -Bizarre 98
Funnily enough this song is on my favourite half of the album which is diverse enough as it is. It's cool enough to be mainstream and yet it isn't I love Enigma's and this is a worthy follow up from Songs for the Deaf but in my Op SFTD is still my Fave *On Account of being with me longer* Awesome Video Though btw :P
I certainly prefer Lullabies to Songs for the Deaf, but for me the best album is the self-titled one. I'm really glad they're re-releasing it, as it probably means another tour :-D
@Metamorphosis33 There is a split EP which was the end of Kyuss and the beginning of Queens of the Stone Age. That may be what you're thinking about, but the album Queens of the Stone Age self titled was Josh Homme all the way through
This is so fucking cool. Amazing song amazing show. Above all, realise how that interlude is a huge precursor to Hwy 1 from TCV???? Homme canon is so cool!
i never thought you could change the tempo of this song and make sound just as trippy and awesome, but what do you know! QotSA is being tattued on my forearm when i get the money...
There's an interview with Josh where he just says that it basically epitomises the dark, fairy tale vibe of the record. Not sure if that's what you meant...
@RMNTNayn ya i listened to it and its definitely Josh singing....you ever listened to any of Kyuss old albums....not Josh singing but you can still here his thick bassy guitar riffs throughout all their music
i'm still amazed by how creative these guitar harmonies are.
QOTSA, they are facking GOAT

@@jimmyfloyda7718 Absolutely the Greatest of All Times! It's ridiculous... the most undeniable music ever.
Pure metaphysic...
Yeah still sounds like future rock
Maybe one of the most underrated of QOTSA?
For a doors fan this is their best
Without a doubt... always been a favorite of mine, and this performance is for the time capsule. Anyone asks me why Josh is my favorite musician ever, I put on this and Them Crooked Vultures' "Spinning In The Daffodils" live @ Fuji Rock.
I think is the best song from lullabyes to paralize
Absolutely love this song! It’s like a horror movie put in song.
@@melissarobinson3826 I think I'll drink some Liquid Death while I listen to it. We crave these things for excitement.
For me, this is the best song on QOTSA's 'Lullabies to Paralyze' album. I love Josh and Troy's trippy guitar work and Alain's haunting basslines on this epic track.
This song grows on you as it grows in you. Dark and amazing.
I always knew this was one of their best pieces but I just never gave it enough attention to get into it.
After watching this amazing videos it's now one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Queens song.
Jesus Christ, I was a month old when this concert happened. Wish they did this song more, one of my favourite QotSA songs.
i just realised how good this song is today
God bless you for that
@@yankeeclipper28 God bless us all
I realized that too today
I realized it two days ago
This song seems so tiring to play live, at least Joey gets a break when they go into the trance-atmosphere break section. Such a good song
joey will go through two hour concerts and never miss a beat, I doubt this opener made him budge
@@rainunderscoreuntil you threw in some sftd in there
Amazing performance!
with Alain & Natasha , I guest this was before the shuman guy came in.
Neat!
How I love this intensely dark and atmospheric song 🖤
deadly performance..gotta play this tune more, live!
the drums are amazing
Homme and the rest of Queens of the Stone Age are some of the most innovative musicians around. its so nice to hear these riffs and time signatures that weve never heard before
Soooo glad they played this at Reading, was fucking amazing. One of their darkest songs yet.
so awesome how Natasha sways her hips :)
Those drums though.
Gabe Sloan what about them
these are way underrated by the public its unreal
The first time i heard that song I was like "WTF?!", and after listening to it a few couple of times, I started to love the song. Weird isn't it? lol
Some of the best music I’ve listened to has started out like that. Mainly for Primus and Ween, it took some time to ‘get it’ ya know?
ridiculously tight! RIDICULOUSLY TIGHT!!
you don't find your way,the way finds you I love that line
someone has awesome taste!! good to see that someone on youtube has at least one musical bone in their body!!! right on, man!!!
I've seen Queens 3 times, gonna see them in August again but this is one show I really really wish I could have gone to. The set, the playing... perfect.
Absolutely one of my favourite songs, so wish they played it more often! Went mad when they played it in the Reading set in 08!
How great would it have been to be there and see this as an opening song!!
Do you know how mind blowing it must be to play that for over seven minutes because of how fast of a song it is? It's just amazing.

Fabulous chorus.
Awesome musical construction and mix of sounds.
Simply magical...
YAY! And i thought i'd never see them doing this song live! Awesome.
Oh, man...I love Troys Suit-Image :-) great performance, great slide-guitar
this is the most perfect set. i wish i was here so much. the crowd, the lighting, the whole atmosphere - just perfect.
what a great way to start a show.

fuckin' love...GOGOGO!
such a cool sound.....I could see how their melodies can be like a fine wine....gets better with every listen....I really dig all their music from Rated R through Era Vulgaris....just cool ass music
difficult song to play live, but they did excellent work, mostly thanks to Joey
Yes it's not an easy one..meaning it's not something you can just bat off ,especially the guitar parts..the unison octaves and the main riff have a timing thing where you have to really stay on to keep it in the pocket..
I miss joey ..
Love Josh Homme I feel this song so much so deep he is amazing ❤️🖤

so glad you could stay forever...
one of my favourites songs!
Foo Fighters and Queens Of The Stone Age are the best
So glad you could stay
Forever
For me, this is the best song from the 'Lullabies to Paralyze' album. Both the trippy guitar work and haunting basslines really stand out on this track. The fact that this is a live perfomance makes this video even more interesting!
Thanks a lot QOTSA... Now i gotta clean up the brains that just got all over my computer.
I love drums in this song.
fucking amazing song, live and studio, qotsa has some of the best trippy rock songs ive ever heard!
wow...this song is awesome live
best band ever !! love this song
epic song, great jam!
No matter what the line up is (Grohl, Castillo, Troy etc etc) they're always fucking awesome and that's why I love this band.
seeing them on 24 11 2007 in liverpool, cant wait...
They should play it more at stage
The energy :O
great ♡♥♡ they are the best!!!!

10/10 performance
May have to agree with you there! & as they are deemed "stoner rock" listening to them whilst high is pretty good too!
this is how to play live, truly fucking awesome.
Funnily enough this song is on my favourite half of the album which is diverse enough as it is. It's cool enough to be mainstream and yet it isn't I love Enigma's and this is a worthy follow up from Songs for the Deaf but in my Op SFTD is still my Fave *On Account of being with me longer*

josh chases the sounds in our heads, then perfects them

4:09 reminds me of Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks".
And you know what?
That's okay. One of my favorite Queens songs.
@RMNTNayn actually what your talking about is the Kyuss album queens of the Stone age....Kyuss was wherev Josh played guitar and Chris Garcia sang
I think this song is totally bonded to "The Blood Is love"
This
trippy as hell!!!!
love those crashing drums.
Then you're gonna love the new album!
@TaffyRaphie I completely agree. Getting a bit more darker and serious made them so much more solid.
So strange to think that they uploaded this when it was recent, and Natasha was still alive.
1: Queens of the stone age
1: Rated R
1: Songs for the deaf
1: Lullabies
1: Era Vulgaris
There's an interview with Josh where he just says that it basically epitomises the dark, fairy tale vibe of the record. Not sure if that's what you meant...
MUST SEE THEM LIVE THIS SUMMER...gaaaahhhhhhhhh
and this is the song they only started the gig with? *speechless*
How do they decide who hisses into the mic. next? XD
Kick ass .love
Don't forget Joey on the drums! Joey's a beast!! :D
yes
@RMNTNayn ya i listened to it and its definitely Josh singing....you ever listened to any of Kyuss old albums....not Josh singing but you can still here his thick bassy guitar riffs throughout all their music
This is my Favorite album, I'm sure it's yours as well.
I love foo fighters, rise against, the strokes etc. but Queens of the stone age gives such a nice twist to my sense of music!
theu did when I saw them in Stockholm earlier this year.
Major Black Sabbathish vibes
someone somewhere is yet to realise the awesomeness of QOTSA. it's a sad fact of life.
Qotsa..Spacca!!
brutal song
i like it =)
