Velocity edits are for character appreciation. Most of the comments in a velocity edit will be about the character and not about the edit it self, but in a transition edit most of the comments will be more about the edit than about the character.
I think transition edits are like for "art" appreciation and velocity edits are just easy to watch and easy to enjoy, and that's what tik tok people want, easy and enjoyable content.

also i dont get why people say they miss transition edits, ig editors still do it(including me) they act like every ig edit quit. for me i'd say tiktok is for velocities and ig for transitions. and whenever transition edits blow up on tiktok theyre always from ig editors

i still see people comment abt the physical edit in velo like “this is that one ___ EDIT” (the blank being the characters name) or “i love these types of EDITS” but yes i do agree with u on what’s what
honestly when the "transition and velo" edit discourse comes up, to me it shouldn't really matter what your editing style is as long as you are having fun 🤷🏾♀️ im a transition editor but im trying out velo and i see why ppl do it, it's fun. at the end of the day, do whatever style you want.
I hate when ppl call CapCut bad, like ik it’s limited in terms of effects and potential, but it’s great if your starting out Im kinda moving from cc to am and when I get my pc ae!

i agree HEAVY on the audios, i struggle with popular audios, i always use songs i love, listen to,,,the problem w that is that some ppl might not have the same music taste and the edit won’t do as good 😭😭, i’ve forced myself to use popular audios just to post an edit and it’s just horrible, i really have to feel and like the song or else i’ll get burnt out and never finish the edit, the songs just get too repetitive and boring to me
(of course there’s exceptions cus i do use known editing audios but y’all know what i mean) i just feel like i’m not editing with passion when i use popular audios, like its just for the likes and views

totally agree with u lauren, talking abt capcut, i don't really think it's a bad editing app. ofc, comparing to am, it's less funcional, but there are lots of things u can make more easier on capcut than am, ae. all depending on objectives that u have for editing
completely!! capcut is a great app, good for beginners and can do some cool stuff. i do kinda feel like templates ruined the editing community though
