I believe so too. It was Connery's favorite as well. The dialogue between Grant and Bond was menacing enough, even before the fight. Both of them did the stunts on their own.
@@GrosvnerMcaffrey I have no idea, but Dr. No and From Russia with Love had more meaningful interaction among the characters as compared to Goldfinger in my humble opinion.
The background score is as classy as Sir Connery himself... remember listening to the same tune when Sir Connery flies the Little Nellie in You only live twice
No CGI! No over the top nonsense! No automatic weapons! Only good O’l fashioned Bond carnage at its best!!!! Bond movies of the 1960’s are the best ! YES including OHMSS!!!! Nothing has ever come since to surpass these movies…….Back then they knew how to make a Bond movie…
OHMSS shouldn't get the hate it does--Lazenby was a model, not an actor, "he had a job to do and he did it well". and really...diana riggs as the bond girl? how can anyone hate that choice?

I love the first 5 Connery-Bonds, but I personally find Goldfinger to be the dull one out of those 5. I know, this comment borders on heresy, but can't help it. Diamonds Are Forever should never have been made with him. It always feels like an afterthought. You can just feel he doesn't want to be there anymore.
I agree the first three films were slower and relied on good acting rather than special effects, but that is the reason why I can watch those three time after time. Sometimes the special effects take over and the actors don't need to be that good.

@@qwertymanor I'm going to be honest. I think that I was judging this film based on the lack of action scenes instead of just let the story develop itself. I know after speaking with other Bond fans they admit to me that some of them had to watch this like 3 times to fully appreciate it
I think the reason for that with quite a few people is because this film while still fun and action packed it was far more adult and focused on story and character interaction than the other Bond movies from all the eras. If you were a kid you wouldn't appreciate the maturity of the writing and the storyline because you're just looking for cool gadgets and fights\shootouts every three seconds.
Too many casualties and they knew Bond had the power of plot armor. 😂 In all honesty though, in-universe it can probably actually be explained by them seeing so many of their men drop from the sniper and Bond together that it spooked them and they decided it wasn't worth it.
No CGI this is what makes this scene a classic it never gets old this battle
No crap, just real men doing real stuns
Then *Gulp* They used real guns to kill...them.
Was CGI even thought of in the '60s
"CGI"?

The Scene in the Gypsy Camp.😍 One of my lovely Moments of all the Bond Movies.😎😘
This is the musical debut of John Barry’s “007” theme!!!!
My favorite Bond film. Equal amounts of espionage, intrigue, and action and closest one to the original novel.
What an amazing classic movie. It gets better each time watching it.
From Russia with love is a fantastic movie and one of best movie Sean Connery ever made.
I Miss Sean Connery as James Bond 007.
0:38 it's funny how Pedro (Kerim) subtly spreads the fake blood through the sleeve lol

Second favorite of the Sean Connery era.
I’m not mad on the Sean Connery era (I find his latter three incredibly dull) but this scene reminds me why so many people love him. Goldfinger and From Russia With Love are his best!
Also two of the best of the franchise with Dr. No, Goldeneye and On Her Majesty's Service right after them.

Everyone else will say Goldfinger, but to me, this was the best Connery Bond film.
Guy gets shot in the elbow and continues to bend it so he can pick up the gun and toss it to the other hand whilst the gun is empty.

Red Grant with the Nazi-era Luger pistol.
