Wish I had seen this video earlier. Getting my crafters to make something was driving me mad. One note on the chests in crafting buildings. Once the designated storage area is full (resource or food), produced goods will end up in those chests. Also they do pull resources out of those chests, and I think that they even prioritize their own chests over the storage areas. This even goes one step further. For example, you have a hunter, a tavern making roasted meat and a food storage. If the food storage is full, the meat from the hunter will end up in the hunters cabin. If there is no meat in the food storage and tavern, the innkeeper will pull the meat from the chest in the hunters cabin and the roasted meat will end up in the inn.
@@Simidiom Had a quick test on prioritizing their own chest for raw materials. And it's mixed. The blacksmith for example takes iron out of the storage first, but the innkeeper takes the ingredients from their own chest first.
Nice video Simi and much appreciated. It's great to see actual tutorials! I was Very confused about where to put tools and ended up putting duplicates in every chest just to be sure...lol

I think ..around there anyway..This game is addicting..I am enjoying it so much..couldn't have done without you, friend..

If you want to sell things to make money, do you run stuff to a shop yourself or can you put up a market? This is all a bit overwhelming ATM for me. Also, where do the workers get their tools? The resource shed?
Hi Michael. There have been many updates since recording this but I'm pretty sure the following is still correct. You don't pay the workers as their work benefits the village the same way the work you do benefits it. You're like the town Mayor. I believe in later updates to the game their is a small market you can set up but in the beginning you have to take the products and sell them. Hi. I am aware of the stumps. Villagers will get married on their own and have children provided they are both in the same house. They will also automatically skill up while working in a particular job. Hope that helps.

Hi, is it okay, that tavern stuff produce only 0,3 winter soup per hour ...that´s almost nothing.. or is something wrong? (i have 10 villagers and food go down)
I didn't understand one thing. So: If i put my field workers, to seed carrot. From where they will take , Seed, Manure and Hoe, all the things need it for working the field? From the Resource Storage or from the Barn? Because on my last game, they will stay still in Barn doing nothing in condition that i already give orders to seed 2 fields (it was the season for those carrot so was not about season). Same problem with hunters and wood cutters. They stay still doing nothing. I didn't see not even one single wondering woods in searching for something. Just stay still and do nothing. Thank you for your help bro. 👍👍👍👍
Hi mircea. They have just repaired the fieldworkers on your farm. There was a bug that would prevent them from doing anything unless you were close to the fields. Place your stuff in the chest in the barn. Also the woodcutters and hunters place their collected items in your storage building chest not the chests thatare in there work huts.
I was really hoping for details on how to reassign tenants! I know you can do it , I want to see how to do it! I find this a frustrating aspect of the game as, though I have three spaces free in three houses I cannot recruit another tenant, they want a new house! I am counting the double bed as one not two so each Simple house should be able to take another tenant, one man in the boys dorm and one woman in the girls dorm! What am I doing wrong?
I have people at work stations but they don't make anything but they will collect resources though Any idea how to have them make anything well at a crafting station
You need to make sure the resources are in the storage building not the chest in the crafting building. You also need to select what you want them to concentrate on making.
He should choose a house by himself. He won't move into a house that has another man living in it but may move into one with a single female living in it.
it might be just me, but how do you get workers with higher stats? everytime i check someone usually its max skill is 2 and very rarely its 3. any way to get it up?
Hi wesley. They seem to get worse as the game progresses. I'm having the same issues myself at the moment although I'm lucky enough to have got a few skilled people. I believe your villages will now level up the skill of the job they are working in over time.
I need help, I don't know if this is a bug or something, but my villagers will start complaining about not having any food. When I check the food storage, there's a whole pile of meat, eggs and so on in there for them to grab. They only stop saying ThEy DoN'T hAvE fOoD when I cook the meat for them and then hand deliver it to each of their houses. This is a collosal pain in the ass. I don't have time to be my entire village's personal chef and waiter, there isn't enough time in the day to do this for 4 different families along with the other tasks I have to do. You would think they could grab the food and cook it their damn selves but this isn't the case and it's ruining the game for me. Can someone please explain what's going on here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@Simidiom Okay, I didn't build a tavern yet because I didn't think it was necessary. I hope they change that. The game is actually updating as I type this so we'll see what this update brings. Hi. I think it's worker skill based. The higher their skill the quicker they cook.
@@Simidiom thanks
Are you going to do the new version 1.1.1.1. ??
Hope so! !!!
Hi Sister, I did run an episode but it didn't get many views at all so not sure.
that was very helpful guide thank you for that
Glad it helped gabe.
Do NPC's tools go in the work stations chest or the storage barn? ie... Wood cutters chest, hunters chest or Field workers barn chest?
Hi Skinz. At the moment they magically have their own tools so you needn't worry about supplying them.
@@Simidiom Oh good, thanks buddy liked and subbed.
@@poobum333 Welcome!
Has this been patched or is this how the game is intended?
@@Simidiom thank you
Do they still use magic tools or I have to actually provide them with hoe, manure and seeds?
@@OnlyOnePieniek you need to buy them and provide them also...
thank you
Good job
Thank you Danny.
Hi Nanny. Have you tried unnassigning them from their existing house first?
I have people at work stations but they don't make anything but they will collect resources though
Any idea how to have them make anything well at a crafting station
You need to make sure the resources are in the storage building not the chest in the crafting building. You also need to select what you want them to concentrate on making.
@@Simidiom ok will try
hello, when I buy a man for myself, I have a house, but I can't send the man to the house, but I can assign him to work. Is there a solution to this?
He should choose a house by himself. He won't move into a house that has another man living in it but may move into one with a single female living in it.
it might be just me, but how do you get workers with higher stats? everytime i check someone usually its max skill is 2 and very rarely its 3. any way to get it up?
Hi wesley. They seem to get worse as the game progresses. I'm having the same issues myself at the moment although I'm lucky enough to have got a few skilled people. I believe your villages will now level up the skill of the job they are working in over time.
For some reason I can only assign 1 tenant per house. Don't know if it's a glitch since patch as I just got the game
It has to be a male and a female. You can't have two of the same gender in a house. Could that be the issue?
@@Simidiom Thank you. That is the problem. I have 2 females.
Anytime Chuck. I am glad I could help.
my villagers are working but not putting stuff into the storage sheds
If you have a tavern the person there can cook food for you. Villagers won't cook for themselves at the moment.
@@Simidiom Okay, I didn't build a tavern yet because I didn't think it was necessary. I hope they change that. The game is actually updating as I type this so we'll see what this update brings. Thanks for the reply, I was getting pretty frustrated because I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't eat the food lol
Update: I built the tavern, and its still doing the same thing. There's plenty of food for the innkeeper to use but he doesn't cook anything.
@@Longsdorff hmm that sounds strange. I haven't had that issue but I do prepare a lot of meals myself.Set myself to make 50-60 meals and wander off to make a coffee while it's doing its thing...
The lumberjack..is weird, he holds no axe, he does animation of chopping a tree, the tree doesn't fall...actually him cutting one tree does not take away the tree....So you can chp dosn the same tree, he just chopped!!!!
Hi Sister, that's strange. I know it was previously a bug but I thought it had been fixed.
hey mate you work out yet what workers do if assigned to food storage or resource storage. i cant find any info on this.
Hi Glenji. I'm working on finding that out at the moment. I have heard that the resources storage person may actualy transport goods between the different work stations but not sure. I have just allocated someone to food storage in my Twitch streaming of this and have just built the tavern (where food is cooked by NPC's) so am waiting to see if the food storage person will transport food accross from the tavern. Sorry I can't really answer your question but I am attempting to work it out.
@@Simidiom cheers mate. thanks for the update look forward to seeing the outcome
@@Simidiom ...
Hello, if urs woodshed got full in resources at chest they will go to resource storage?
They go to resource storage first and then overflow to the woodshed storage Daniel
I am so confused. :( I have a food storage with food in there and also a storage place with enough firewood. Yet people lose happiness ... :( No idea what I'm doing wrong X.x
Hi Christine is their happiness dropping or is it hovering around 50%? Happiness will remain at a lower level until you have e upgraded houses and moved male and females into a house together etc.
@@Simidiom hello there - no, it sinks into the nether - even though food and wood are. available. o.O a lucky guy and a lucky woman are living in a stone house... I... dunno o. o
What percentage are they at? I have heard some people with a happiness issue using old saves but I have not experienced this myself.
37 and ship is still sinking x. x well, I guess new game then. Damn xD Thank you dear!
@@christine-kht keep your old saves. There may be a solution somewhere. You definitely have your food in a food storage hut? Everyone has a job? The firewood is in the general storage hut?
BTW..is there any reason to store clothes in the storage area?..do the settlers put on better boots, if I made them?
I'm not sure that is implemented yet John. I do believe the villagers gather their own clothes at this point.
@@Simidiom I was thinking on ways to up grade the settlers happiness..Winter clothing for all would raise that % a little is my guess..Too bad ..Maybe the Devs will write that in..Thanks.. BTW I started an new town because of your explanation of Management..
Hope the new town goes well!. You can upgrade or build better houses for them and their happiness will increase. It will also increase again when a male and female live together and get married.
@@johnswadden4734 I don't have the sewing station yet so it may actually up the %. I will have to try it out I think John.
@@Simidiom There are a number of ways to make money and I thought I would try Flax and sewing..You need Linen string to make your own Bows as well. Sewing can be an early building as well..thick gloves is a poor gold value change but they help a lot in the winter.
Question..I have my first helper in my town and she is a field hand..I haven't seen any grain or cabbages from her yet..Do I have to change her job to bring in the harvest into my food storage building?
You have been a wonderful help. Thank you
What I do not understand: Do the workers need seeds for planting?
Workers were magically producing seeds but the whole worker/farmer thing is still so bugged that I just do the farming myself. I'll continue to do that until they are fixed.
dumb question,,, if i get a shop going and hire somone ,,,will people come and buy or only the workers buy ????
Hi John, at this point no. Also having workers in the storage building and food storage buildings has no benefit yet.
@@Simidiom thank you
new update,, but some i think are working now
Like and Sub, nice and easy to understand tutorial, but don't forget to mark if some of these informations are outdated! ;)
Thanks Miez. Will do.
Sadly i love play survival games but i got poor pc only average 30fps
I only play at 30fps if I have the option to limit to that.
How do I get someone back after they have left?
I made the mistake of not building food and wood storage before inviting my first settler
I'm not sure I can answer that one. Can you find him in a village again?
how to get rid of people for better settlers in your settlement? As you progress in the game I've found better settlers.
I will look into it James. You could make them homeless and they will leave i guess.
Go to management and press X on the villager, which is remove. They will leave then.
@@alicesolhaugjoakimsen3896 Thank you for your answer.
I got a villager but he doesn’t show up in the tab for management but he is in a house complaining about not having a house what do I do?
You can go into the management screen, click on a house and press f, then you will see an option to assign a tennant. Click f on that and you should be able to assign the homeless guy.
Simidiom thing is it said he was assigned there i think i May have encountered a bug becuase he didnt show up in the residents tab only in the house occupants tab so i think he left
@@alphawolffestudios1169 Oh that sucks. It mat be a bug. You can get rid of him from the village by highlighting his name and hitting x if you want to. Just means you'll have to look for another resident. Or try assigning him to a different house?
Simidiom thing is I think he just left on his own accord :(
Tip: if you put the word tutorial in the title you'll get even more views ;-)
😁
Help!
I think I kicked my wife and baby out. They are living in the other house. How do I fix it????
Oh dear tina. Perhaps try going into management and your wife and child and try to reallocate them to your house?
How many times he said ehhh or ähh
having house but my villager homeless
cant assign them to the house
In house management look for assign tennant
you should really remove all these stumps :D
Hi smok. I will get around to it at some point! I have become lazy.
My village won't grow and everyone is pissed
Hi Woodstock. It's been a long time since I've been in game so I'm guessing a lot has changed now. Is your pantry full of food etc?
@@Simidiom yes it's infuriating they won't work or drink water
i dont know about you guys but this game needs an auto run or auto walk
I think one of the points (to me) of this game is the cost of putting effort with your own hands, you trade time for travel, and that helps the quality of the immersion. I might be playing it for that reason especially, but yeah I could see why somebody would want it.
How do you get a house that your future wife wants to move into ?
She will move into whatever house you are living in. Once you skill up a bit you can upgrade your house or even build a new one.
Beeyorbs
Just watching this video, i know this game is somebody’s jam. Definitely not for me though lol.

Hello!
My Settlers won’t do their jobs
This is pretty old now but make sure they have the correct tools in the buildings storage. Just recorded a stream for a new series on this so keep your eye out for episodes.
This dude sounds like farket
there is alot of "uhmmmm" and unnecessary talking in this guide. majority of these 17 mins are wasting your time.
