Changing is a life-long process. So, yes, it's good to set goals, but you always have new goals to improve yourself and your mental health. And there's nothing wrong in asking for help and in sharing your journey. Which is different from bragging.

Therapy shouldn't be about your male husband, bf, etc. waiting to see "change" it's about your own growth and development. Working out for instance doesn't have "an end weight". You constantly work out all your life to stay in shape and healthy, and you shouldn't be doing it just to impress other people. 🙄
As someone that’s been in therapy for a while, I don’t think he’s dogging it. It’s not a male/female issue. I think the closest analogy would be those people that work out and body build and post photos on their Insta or wherever looking for approval. He’s saying do it for yourself and your own growth and not the approval of others.
