With her aria "Deh, vieni, non tardar" and the preceding recitative "Giunse alfin il momento" from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (The Marriage of Figaro) the chambermaid Susanna full of anticipation longs for the arrival of love.
Australian soprano Siobhan Stagg, together with General Music Director Donald Runnicles on the piano, has chosen this serenade as one of her favourite arias. Chief dramaturge Jörg Königsdorf speaks the introduction.
