In this video, I think Solomia has a better understanding of the true meaning wanted by the composer and is able to transmit us wonderfully. That is what i meant by "more understanding of the emotions".
@@julienlaumonier5861 How can you know if you don't understand the lyrics, maybe it's just theatre. When an artist use poor diction as most trained sopranos do perhaps subtitles could be appropriate.
Could this possibly be a new performance? I have resigned myself to repeatedly watching her earlier work because I feared she may have disappeared or given up her gift. Her phenomenal talent as a performer is only exceeded by that as a vocalist. If she is re-emerging, I’m eagerly looking for a better world beyond 2020.
Don’t doubt, just listen :) Has she ever sung such "mature" songs, and with such deep-felt expression? I am very sensitive to good pitch, and here Solomia shows clear mastery over that, so much so that she can sing ever-so-slightly below pitch to help express the song. I’m not sure if I have heard such purity in western singers before - although it is common with Indian classical singers, who are (like Solomia!) trained from young childhood.
