I couldn’t agree more about worlds having more series. These matches show that we need double eliminations. Worlds is the biggest tournament in lol, it always peaks in viewership. Worlds only happens once a year with only 7 bo5. With more series, we get more competition and unique matchups making this tournament more interesting. Overall, big hype.
Will never happen because what if the winners bracket team loses? Riot will not pay for a whole stadium and sell tickets if a game 2 isn't needed. Look at lck. Gen g git screwed out of golden road because gen g didn't get 2 lives like hle did. Now imagine that happens at worlds??? Never gonna happen.
Double eliminations is just a bait The winners bracket only get one live that’s the disadvantage of it You try so hard just to get knocked out by some one has two lives and already figure out your style It’s more a performance on the day issue Look at TES no one could have thought at they’re gonna get 3-0ed What i suggest is reforming the seeding format NA and EU 1st kinda not deversing to be on the same pool with KR CN 1st And dont drag the tournament out for too long
@@nguyenvu1078 The advantage is playing less games. Never been a problem in dota or starcraft they don't even do bracket reset and its still the winners bracket that is constantly winning. If you are better you are better.
I think the biggest issue with western teams is stagnation, there isnt enough innovation anymore so teams get stuck in playing the wrong meta for most of the year and end up not having a good plan to counter LCK/LPL teams in their meta. FLY did a good job at playing around their strenghts while also having good answers to some of the things that GEN wanted to do. They still didnt have an answer to the Nida/Ksante picks nor against Yone/Smolder, i can only imagine this is because domestic competition doesnt allow for good enough practice. Sadly cause of theese issues we will never close the gap and it will likely always widen until such a day we fight the eastern teams far more frequently over the year prior to worlds.
Lck teams also stay away from innovation in general - it’s just the mad competition push them to walk the edge of the sword and the efforts to survive collectively becomes innovative meta. Lec cannot make it if the level of the third seed is THAT mdk.
@@pomni8696 I mean it depends, LCK has their own meta but they do innovate on it depending on patch changes. They dont innovate alot because they generally prefer to master the things they are good at. But i do think the EU/NA teams HAS to innovate in order to ever catch up at all because playnig the same things better players are even better at doesnt work.
As much hope as this worlds gave me as an NA fan, we still have to realize that soloq ping situation is a massive detriment to the quality of practice they get in all the regions outside of Korea and China. Then on top of that, they don't have 5+ quality teams that they can scrim against on a weekly basis. NA does at least have TL and FLY, but EU really doesn't have another team that has shown quality macro on the level of G2. This really hinders growth of the region just because they aren't getting quality practice in. I do think this worlds gives a lot of hope in that coaching this year feels like its had a huge step forward(in NA at least). I think until we can actually say we are equal in macro, winning in draft is the most important variable. Seems like FLY figured this out.
Yah I think the scrims is prolly a bigger issue. We've seen inspired Massu yeon etc matching the eastern mechanics but training against the best teams is a huge advantage for sure
if there was a gap closing I'd have to see more games of Fly Quest playing these top eastern teams again all I've seen is T1 stomp them back at MSI but that was with Jenson or whatever. They did get close to no1 and no2 seed of LCK lol embarrassing performances from those two teams even though they won in the end. TL going on about just about beating T1 lmao back when T1 was not playing good and the meta sucked but they still won against TL and G2 if you can't beat a poor performing team when you have the chance then I wouldn't get your hopes up but Fly Quest I can't wait to see how they go next year :D maybe it's different time will tell
Yah but compared to 2021-2022 when we literally couldn't take a single game off the east, we def have improved. It's just a matter of if it closed enough where we can now take actual series off them. Until now, the answer is no (unless you're tes)
@@cloudsidky That is true I would say definite improvement I think with the bo3s instead of bo1s as well will help out loads. Just keep working hard I'm sure it will happen again where you guys will get back up there and I think everyone craves for it because everyone loves a challenger :)

I think having bo3s, live patch, and getting fearless draft next year will further push innovation. Should be fun

So it sounds like Kiin basically said the gap is starting to close we take those. 😎
Yah it's def closer, just hasn't closed yet. We'll get there
Time stamp? Where does he talk about the gap
