That was a blast to watch! I loved the back and forth between ruthlessness and indecisiveness, how loud you were talking (I'm loud too 😘), your decision making process- it was all great! 😆
i just filmed an unhaul and oh my god watching you go through your shelves makes me so happy idk lol. i love how ruthless you were, unhauls are so cathartic 🙌🏻
For the cord issue you can just get a plastic non transparent box with a lid. Cut some holes in it, but keep most of the mess inside. This will make the room less visually cluttered
I haven’t read Still Alice for like a decade but I read it when my grandpa was going downhill from Alzheimer’s so it both killed me but also it helped me understand what he was going through.
I’ve been on an unhaul project for the year. At the beginning of the year I had 804 owned and unread books so my minimum goal was 81… but the real goal is 365. I’m at 114 so far!
City We Became is so so good--and I also loved Fifth Season and hated Obelisk Gate so maybe that bodes well for you (I also read and loved Looking for Alaska when I was like 16 and I think it's one of his better books, but does that mean it's worth the read as an adult...not sure haha)
Still Alice was an interesting read for me personally because I work with patients with dementia. And I would recommend this book if you want to have a better understanding of how dementia could look like for someone and their family.
I think you might actually really like Yerba Buena. I liked the writing a lot, but it was sadder than I wanted. Lol. So, I'm glad you're doing try a chapter for it!
I absolutely loved North Child and I've read it so many times! It's such a beautiful story, and I hope you love it! (I'll understand if you don't though, it's not going to be for everyone)
I’m relieved to see someone unhaul The Nightingale. It’s one of those WWII books that’s low-key antisemitic, and like….Vianne starts out with savings of 65k francs in 1940 money. It was illegal in France to give your child a name like Vianne. That’s the kind of verisimilitude we’re dealing with in this one. (I thought it was very readable, but it’s troubling when a book gets that popular when it has such serious issues.) Then again, I thought The Maidens and Lost Apothecary were delicious trash. They’re my Colleen Hoover. My trash ❤ I don’t think Emily Henry wants to write romance. She always devotes so much of her pagecount to apologizing for the romance genre.
First of all - thank you so much for leaving this comment. I care about what you have to say so plz leave the negativity at home @koia. To be honest, I did not realize that that book had issues like that so thank you for bringing it to my attention. I just genuinely didn’t jive with it. And love a good guilty pleasure novel. Nothing wrong with that!!! Totally agree with Emily Henry. I hope she writes a non-romance book. I’d be interested to see what I think. 💕💕
I know you already got rid of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes but I still want to share my feelings of that book anyway 😂 I LOVEDDD IT 🤩😍 (Long msg sorry, I just love this book when most don’t 😅) One thing is you need to picture Snow as a hot, attractive, young man (I saw Lucas Till in my head👌) not the older guy in the movies. One of the main reasons Snow is able to manipulate things/ppl is his attractiveness and charm/charisma. We know he’s a snake underneath, but the other characters don’t. Another thing is this book is not the hunger games (sounds obvious but I think that’s part of what ppl didn’t like). It’s more of a dive into the psychology/mind of a sociopath/psychopath. I personally didn’t like Suzanne Collins’s writing in the hunger games, and thought she really grew as a writer with this one 😊
Bye Four Winds! The first half was good and the second half was like a completely different book. And not a good one. (Sorry for multiple comments. Commenting as I go. 😅)

Wow we love to see a savage unhaul. I know it’s hard. But it’s so good for you
Feels so good to get rid of books that aren’t serving though!
i just filmed an unhaul and oh my god watching you go through your shelves makes me so happy idk lol. i love how ruthless you were, unhauls are so cathartic 🙌🏻

I haven’t read Still Alice for like a decade but I read it when my grandpa was going downhill from Alzheimer’s so it both killed me but also it helped me understand what he was going through.
I think you should try “Yerba buena” one of my favs from last year!
From far away I thought you had stacked all of those books and I was waiting for them to topple down 🤣
Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is SO GOOD!!
Ok a few people commented that!! Now I’m intrigued

Just telling you one last stop made me cry at the end like a baby
Love a good unhaul!! It's so therapeutic!
Yes to an unhaul! love these videos.
Aaahhh 💕I relate so much. I have gotten rid of A LOT of books, especially since I’m not a rereader. And I want to ONLY keep 4/5 star books! 🙌🏻
I loved Looking for Alaska when I was 18. That was over a decade ago so… 🤷🏻♀️ Curious to see if you’ll keep it or not.
I listened to Still Alice on a long road trip. Liked it and then watched the movie.
The maidens was so annoying 😂
I’ve been on an unhaul project for the year. At the beginning of the year I had 804 owned and unread books so my minimum goal was 81… but the real goal is 365. I’m at 114 so far!
I love unhauling!! And watching others unhaul!!
Sad to hear you didn’t like obelisk gate I finished the fifth season in January and I’ve been putting off reading the second 😅
I thought those books were balancing on top of each other until she moved a few!😀

omg that makes me have hope!! I think the concept is so cool and I want to love it! Can’t wait to give it a try
Ballad of songbirds and snakes is fantastic, way better than Mockingjay.
I've really enjoyed The Polar Bear Explorers' Club. 😁
Now I want to unhaul my books when I just did it last month lol
Just found your channel. How often do you post?
Goal is once a week(ish). Life has been getting in the way lately (I just got married!), but will be back to posting regularly next week!
@@KarasBookshelf congrats on your wedding!!!! I followed you on Instagram so I saw it 🥰🥰
@@snippetsofpam184 ahhh thank you!!!
I unhauled six physical books with you and six ebooks (:

oh good! thank you!! glad i am trying a chapter then!
I LOVE THIS ENERGY!!! I can't wait for my annual unhaul now hahaha
Same with Emily Henry I really tried liking her books, but it’s just not my cup of tea…
I absolutely loved North Child and I've read it so many times! It's such a beautiful story, and I hope you love it! (I'll understand if you don't though, it's not going to be for everyone)
Ahhhh I hope I like it!!! I feel like people generally have good reviews of it!
Oh, I loved the Wolf Hall trilogy! I read it twice.
Kara, please read "Looking for Alaska". It's a shortie but it slaps actually

I have The Four Winds but haven’t read it yet. I’ve heard so many great things though. I need to read it.
I haven’t read The Bride Test yet but I did LOVEEEEE The Kiss Quotient… 🤔

I read Beach Read. 1 star. Never again, Emily Henry!

I hated Sing Unburied Sing. I liked Salvage the Bones though.

one of my best friends texted me the same thing. she said it wasn’t worth it
Personally, I think you can skip Looking for Alaska.
