It's finally here! I had a LOT of fun recording this one and getting to make this video (it's also fun to see the different ways I can kinda utilize the same room setup haha)
This is a song that I never ever thought I could do justice, but I tried my best! I hope you all enjoy it--it was really fun to do and made me really step outside of my comfort zone 😊

I particularly enjoyed your attention to the accent of "all" in "all of the time". It's a critical piece for me as that tonal change switches gears from the welcome-have-a-cup-of-tea atmosphere to the oh-god-oh-god-this-person-is-a-serial-killer-abort-abort panic that is the genuine reality of the mass neurological manipulation caused by the internet.

i'm honestly really impressed with your breath control. you can barely hear when you take breaths, when I sing this I always end up gulping the air in really loudly during the quick sections because there's so little time to breathe :D
I also really like how you keep dipping into your prettier technical voice especially on the high notes, it gives it a really nice edge

This song is actually incredibly hard to sing. Changing inflection while still maintaining the same amount of power is not easy. You did that very well! However, I feel there was sometimes an issue in tone. For a lack of a better term, it felt too "pretty". You are a great singer and it shows, but that also means that you concentrate a lot on the technical aspect of singing which pulls back all the effort you give on the performance aspect. Just some constructive criticism, as I said you did a great job with a difficult song! And kudos for the laugh!
thank you so much!! and for sure, my voice definitely leans toward the "ingenue" typecast, and my anxiety in general always held me back from really embracing more character type songs and making my voice purposefully un-pretty. This was the first song I've ever done where I really had to push myself out of my comfort zone, so I'm definitely going to keep working on it! I really appreciate this feedback! 😊

In every way, perfect. Especially in the bridge and laugh, until now I haven't seen many capture such specific and difficult to express energy. It's really really difficult to replicate a song that was ultimately written for the writer to express themself, and often only they can embrace the same emotions, but you did it wonderfully. Like someone else in the comments said, I saw how you warmed up to the emotions throughout the song. Good job!
