  • In this video we review the new Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114, fitted with Vance and Hines Eliminator 300 slip ons.
What do you think about that huge back wheel? We think it looks terrific and that it didn't ride as badly as some people say!
In fact - it rather impressed us!

Just bought a 22' Fatboy. Great review. I don't find that large back tire to be an issue at all. I think that some people that come to Harley expect Sports bike type performance out of cruisers........Harleys are meant for cruising, enjoying the journey and aren't meant to be sport bikes. Love them. Thanks for posting this. Nice review.

I have a fat boy 2018 107 great bike handles great people say it’s hard to handle with a rear tyre that size I say not true. It’s so easy to handle and light . I have just put on Vance Hines slip on‘s. Sounds great.

    Greetings from Central Coast California!
My very first Harley (3 years ago) is a 2004 Fatboy-fuel injected, Vance Hines Long Shot pipes, with 68k miles. Meticulously cared for by previous owner. Comfortable, amazingly well balanced, easy handling. No problems, very dependable. Ride 2 up with my honey on medium trips to Big Sur and Carmel/Monterey (hard leather covered bags). Previous bike was a 1980 Yamaha XS850. Love the Fatboy!
Handles like a dream. Plenty of power. Trustworthy local mechanic told me “Keep the fluids changed and she’ll hit 150K with no problem.” I’m at 88k now.
    Great video-Thank you!!

First as always great video good content secondly I have lost count how many times I have watched this video because it is refreshing to see someone actually recommend a fatboy as an every day bike. everybody seems to gravitate towards the big touring bikes and yes they are great bikes but they seem to do one thing really well long days in the saddle munching the miles on the super slab. There’s loads of softail owners doing the same trips 400-500 mile days and not wishing they had a touring bike. Keep up the great work and it wouldn’t break my heart for you to review the new Road Glide...

This is the best video yet I have seen for the new Fat Boy motorcycle. I want to see one taken from another vehicle so I can see the Fat Boy in action moving down the road. I want to see the movement of the front and rear suspension as it is in motion.

@@MrDarcy-OlMan how would you compare the Fatboy to the breakout 114?

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan
      @MrDarcy-OlMan  4 роки тому +1

Karl Es Both very impressive bikes. The Breakout is actually a little bit more ‘flickable’ and also extremely stable; the thinner front tyre gives it more nimbleness and the rake/trail the stability. The Fat Boy is a solid, well planted ride. Both ‘push’ a bit at slow manouvering, but once underway are lovely bikes.

At 2:10, a TR-6 ! My favorite sports car, I've owned two of them and they were dependable daily drivers that had an exhaust note straight from Heaven.
The glimpse of English villages and country roads were a treat. And, the Fat Boy is definitely the coolest brute on two wheels.

I have only owned Pans Shovels and two twin cams all were FLH FLCTC and FLHRIC types bikes not counting my four Flathead Harley's and Indians. I sold my twin cams this year and picked up a 1998 FLSTF Fatboy. I really like the Fatboy it is lighter and more nimble than my other FLH type HD's. It seem more like my old flatheads in weight I am liking it so far. I am down to this 98 FLSTF and my 72 FLH now but at my age that will be enough.

It was between the fat boy and the heritage, last time I bought a harley. Heritage won because I like to do long days on a bike, but I didn't find it comfortable enough and ended up with a Kawasaki Ninja 1000, which is a great all-day bike. Now that covid has put paid to that sort of trip I really wish I had a fat boy.

I just purchased the street glide special after much much consternation tossing between it the heritage and road king but in the end i just couldnt go past the stereo and gps and the look. It may not be as loud as others, but it still has that low "rumble" to it which is adequate in my opinion. Still sounds good in this video. It is still that Harley V-Twin sound. The sound echoed nicely off those brick walls as you made that turn - Definite HARLEY sound! Different exhaust can be added too if preferred.

Road king, around same price but much more accommodating for non-hobbits. Krauss seat raises seat height by another inch easily and lots of aftermarket foot control options to play around between performance and comfort. I wish I could get my hands on one of the new Fat Boys for comparison, because the OG one was a bit of a let-down for me. I was in love with that bike's looks well before I ever got to see it in person or ride it. Then I rode one and it was a bit of a case of "never meet your idols". That was on a 1995 or 1996, EU-spec Evo model. So ... 55, 56 hp ... maybe - on 300+ kg machine. Stock sound was laughably quiet, but the things that struck me the most were the sheer weight and the reluctance of the bike to do anything but run in a straight line. Also didn't help that the (stock) brakes felt woefully undersized for the bike's bulk. My summary of that particular Fat Boy would be: Doesn't go, doesn't stop, doesn't do corners and it doesn't sound like a Harley. On the plus side: It came in that rare yellow/cream white two-tone paint-job they did for a short while in the mid 90s and it *really* looked great when you were walking away from it. ;)

Riding a Kawasaki Z900RS but very much considering a Fat Boy or Sport Glide. Leaning towards the Fat since I like the look more. I love doing long rides from time to time but mostly trips are around 100km a day, often smaller roads, through towns etc (Belgium). Would a Fat Boy handle well? No way to testride one here in Belgium, going to test a Street Bob and Sport Glide this friday though. Really need to make up my mind...

    Great video brother, priceless work
I hope someone can help me with my doubt... I would really appreciate it a lot.
Too many negative as positive comments and thoughts about harley davidson bikes (beyond the great lookin of course), and too many comments gave me probably a bad idea of how reliable can be harley davidson, and this model (the fat boy) in particular. I love this bike, it's my dream, but far away from the "good look" for the price you are paying for one of these, the last thing you want to know is that you bought a not bullet proof motorcycle, dont get me wrong, I know all bikes are machines and even the "best" brand can have some issues. But I hope someone can tell me with his own experience, if harley davidson (especially the fat boy) it doesn't worth the price... I mean, I don't care how much it cost, for a dream to came true and for a taste of what you love you pay whatever, but far from that, I want to know if this bike can be a really strong engine that (taking care of him) it will last many years, and achieve the reliability that you have an engine between your legs that you can trust that it will not throw you... and that the dealership will not tell you "we cannot solve your problem" or having that kind of "big issues" with the spare parts...
-I just want to enjoy the ride with my dream machine, but knowing that my machine will not fucked me up because it's made of crystal. Want to feel confident with a big smile on my face, just like every one of us.
I also saw triumphs, hondas, yamahas, indians, ducatis, and I want this fat boy man, it's kinda hard to explain, you already ride it, you know what that bike can do to a soul, but I'm afraid of her reliable, hope someone can clear my mind.
Sorry if my english is bad, it isn't my native language
Thank you also for the amazing video, I really enjoyed it a lot, keep up the good work !!

D Jm Hi! Yes it’s only a small characteristic at low speeds ( ie walking speed). Once moving it’s very nice to ride and corners fine. It’s not what you’d call nimble, but it is not bad. It’s a combination of geometry and fat front and rear tyres that make it need a slightly different technique.

How do you find the weight at stand still? Having one leg, it may be too heavy for me to hold upright.

MrDarcy & the Ol'Man haha. I thought so. I’ll stick with my Freewheeler. No tipping that beast.

Good looking bike, but the headlight shape is totally screwed up, IMO. HD should keep it classic.
