What in the world! You have got some FANTASTIC ideas! I love the idea of the swing out kitchen! The second bed .... you are the first person who thought of that! Your outside bathroom is the bomb and the swing out "junk box" is the bomb. The coolest is the wood/propane stove, i never saw one with the two options.
luke Fugate Who can afford to buy one when they cost as much as a house! I've always wanted a camper. Your attention to detail and all the creative use of things like the 'jump rope handle' is sheer genius.
Luke, you have some amazing ideas! I love the swing out kitchen and dual fueled stove. I must say that this is the most unique van build I have ever seen. Nice job! 👍🏼 🚐💨
This whole thing is brilliant!! Good old American ingenuity at its best! That outdoor kitchen was great and we loved your Lowes Toilet! So many van people say they just "go" in a public restroom, but, like you said, sometimes you just gotta go!! You deserve a "Kentucky Colonel" award!
Nice job Luke!! 👍 I love how you utilized the doors for the kitchen set up for outside & the outside shower hookup!! On top of the fact how you set up the tv mount!! 👍👍 Brilliant!!
What an amazing build!!! I think you are so creative with all the ways you designed extras and thought outside of the box, so you can get the most out of your vehicle.
Great video. If I may make some suggestions, You should put plastic bags in your toilet and maybe use some sawdust to keep it dry. This way you don't have to keep washing out your bucket or carrying a smelly bucket into a public restroom to dump. You could just throw away the bag in a trash can somewhere. You might want to get a tarp and a few magnets for a shower curtain. The wind can blow that one around and you may have an embarrassing moment or two. You may want to rethink that glass lamp. They are top heavy. One good bump and you could have glass everywhere. The glass in those tend to vibrate loose also. If you had a roll over would you want glass flying around? That's also another reason to secure your belongings. You may reconsider shutting those cabinets under the benches now. Just a few ideas to help. Not like I know everything but, I too have watched a few youtube videos. I pray your traveling experience will be peaceful, fun and safe. God bless!
ABSOLUTELY the Best Van Build!! Your Videos are Excellent!! What TALENT!! You all are Living a Life most of us only DREAM of !! Thank you for Sharing!!☺👍👍👍👍👍

Simply awesome job, I would proudly call that my Hillbilly DE-Lux. I really like the design of the second bed and the swing out kitchen... oh yea, and the tv mount as well. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Thanks, It's not really as hard as you think. Try coming up with some stuff like this. You might just surprise yourself. The first thing is getting over the fear of messing something up. If you try and mess up, start over.
You are a genius , I have wondering so often how to make the van accommodate more than one person sleeping , Thank you so much and I love the inside bathroom and the outside shower/Bathroom addition , you are great .
jaim haas I've had several people ask me about it. I've been driving it to work the last couple of weeks. I cooked lunch a few times for the whole crew.
I love all your creations!!!!!! So handy and inventive and it all works!!!! That swing out kitchen rocks!!! That 2nd bed is really thinking outside the box and is brilliant!! Yes!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
DUDE...most brilliant and awesome self build ever!!! I've watched a lot of videos in order to prepare for my van build, but yours is by far the most ingenious! Can't wait to see a vid on how you made your gun box wood stove! AWESOME!
Thanks, I hope it helps you out. I've got a stove video showing some details but it's not a build video. I have another ammo can that I was thinking of making one out of. When I do I will make a build video.
Very resourceful. I think you have given me an idea which will save me a lot of money. I will be looking for a van to refurbish instead of spending money on a camper. That way I get to learn a lot and customize it the way I want. Thanks.
Love how you up cycled and recycled so many items to create a functional camper/rv. I was thinking about a/c for those hot nights sleeping but I'm sure you will create an ingenious solution. Bravo to you for such creative solutions. Happy days ahead
Thanks, I plan to use a window unit a/c in place of the wood stove. I also have my thermostat controlled starter to run the van engine a/c while boondocking.
I love your ideas! I've been wondering about a small wood stove for heat and this is a great idea! Better idea than running some of the propane heaters that have CO2 off gas! And the swing out kitchen...brilliant! And as a lady I like the extra illusion of bathroom privacy in that little cupboard if needed! This is a great van camper! Thank you for sharing!
The Howling Yorkie & Kristy Gordon I have another ammo can and I'm going to make a stove out of it too and do a build video when I get time. Yes the toilet in the closet has come in handy several times now.

Loved this video. My favorite is the Lowes toilet. When we remodeled our bathroom a few years back, we didn't have a toilet for two days. So it was either go to a hotel for $100 a day or use a Lowes bucket for $3.00. We chose the Lowes bucket! I will be using a lot of your ideas when I'm ready to start traveling in my homemade van. That shower, wood stove, kitchen, awning and bed setup just answered some of the questions I'm facing. Not a very finished look yet but absolutely brilliant design. Thank you
Thanks! It's my favorite bed in the van. Roll down both windows and let the cool breeze blow over me in the summer. Just have to make sure and cover the windshield from the outside.
Luke my dear old dad (former engineer at Martin Marietta) would be proud of you. You've turned an average really old van into a pretty fun living space at least for 3 seasons worth :) Gives me inspiration to turn my 99 Astro Van into a pop top sleeper w/ living quarters down below !

Damn you are one handy guy,,wish I was that handy. Thanks Great Video.
AWESOME Build. they make a solar tint for the clear windows that blocks out like 95% of the heat action of the sun, but is still clear to see through.
I'll have to check that out, thanks.
Inexpensive engineer, great and simple, for those who think they need a 100 grand to start van life. Congrats bro.
Efren Velazco Thanks.
I wish I knew how to build so many things... this is really amazing. I think the indoor/outdoor kitchen is the best part!

I've watched so many van build videos and you have ideas that are totally new to me. Gotta love that straight-six...you can't kill 'em.
Very true, the Ford 300 straight six is one of the toughest engines ever. Not a power house but will outlast most V8s.

Wow, a real wood stove in a van! I'm curious how well that thing works in the winter. Also, do you worry about carbon monoxide poisoning?
love what you've done with the place! very livable.
Thanks, After camping in it a few times there are some things I want to change but overall its pretty good.
The swing out kitchen is genius!

I absolutely love your setup! With the toilet, keep you some saw dust, put a bag in the bucket, and when it's been used, just pull out the bag and toss it.

red cedar mill dust is really nice

MC Briggs there are a couple little wood stoves you could look into once called a Cub.... and there's also a bigger one called a Grizzly which would probably be too big for that spot and then there's also one called a tiny tot.. which the tiny tot is a very economical because it was built for boats but in actuality you can use lump charcoal or briquettes or wood in it so you have two options very compact and actually quite cute that way you don't have to worry about trying to build one yourself
Nice build Luke. Thanks for showing us your creative design.
Ingenious, and aggressive, good job. Rich guys videos out here DONT impress me, videos like this does. It displays your doomsday survivalist Boyscout skills.
Thanks, I definitely don't fit into the rich guy's category. I have to use what I can afford.
It all came together so nicely, Luke. Great job with the surprise second bed in the front to boot!
Thanks. I just kept looking at all the wasted space that wasn't used at all when parked.
You remind me a lot of my dad. He used to MacGyver things too. Growing up that was also my favorite show. Good old Kentucky girl, Lancaster.
MacGyver was my favorite too. I bugged Mom and Dad to death until they got me a Swiss Army knife like he always used.
I love this video! and I especially fell in love with your kitchen!😍 you have an amazing van, keep up the good work!
Molly Duggan Thanks, getting it ready for camping this weekend. Gonna try to get some video too.
Love the ammo can fireplace, I bet that makes it liveable in the winter.
Yes it will run you out of the van in below freezing temperatures. I have to open windows.
This is the coolest van. I've never seen one that had some guest sleeping! And the swing out cooking. So creative.
Thank you! If it ever stops raining long enough, I'll put up some camping videos and show it in action.
I am impressed. $100,000 RVs have NOTHING on you. You proved that anyone with "common sense" can have fun RVing.
Thanks, I've had fun building it and now I have fun using it.
I think you have done an excellent job on your van build! I like the idea of having all the amenities that you have with the kitchen rigged to make an outdoors living room! And a very clever shower heating system with two beds! I love the wood stove you built! Nothing like the smell of wood burning and totally functional for heating and cooking if you run out of propane!👍

That shower, wood stove, kitchen, awning and bed setup just answered some of the questions I'm facing. Not a very finished look yet but absolutely brilliant design. Thank you
Glad you liked it.
Love the 2nd bed idea. Awesome 😃
Sounds like a good plan.
