This video really makes me wish there was some kind of open-world mode for TF2, with huge maps and lots of places for this kind of insane action to take place.
To all who say CTF don't have timer: If you check Muselk old tf2 videos that play CTF you can see it have timer and that is before Meet your match update
I absolutely love this scenebuilding and im glad i found this video again because 2 years ago i made a image trying to recreate some scenes in this video and from there i couldnt find the video and it was a memory that lasted to this year and watching this again made me happy
dude the lighting is awesome and the music fits perfectly with whats going on in the video! And I love just how upbeat the intire video is great work!!!!
Silly Scout. When you're plummeting towards the ground, just use your grapple hook to propel yourself towards the ground, thus cancelling your momentum Just Cause taught me that
I'm a sucker for awesome chases and good sfms. This is probably the best sfms I've seen. Music is also great, giving more life to the crazy, insane, zany actions that are occurring. Definitely deserves voting.
There's quite a few problems here, many times the camera zooms too close to the characters at fast pace which makes it hard to tell what's going on, It could use some more Medium and Long shots. Now for the ending, it's a bit underwhelming as we do not know if Scout made it to his destination or simply passed out and got a stalemate. With all that said, everything else is great, visual is very appealing
The Room reference was A+. Had the animation been a bit smoother, this would have won hands down. There were a few portions that were a bit strange in terms of frame composition, namely the airplane scene (which probably could have been shortened a bit). But I definitely enjoyed this video much more than any of the rest, especially the winner. Very, *very* well done.
Great ideas in this one! Keep on animating, because when your skill in raw animation catches up with your shot composition, scripting, and choreography, you are getting a saxxy for sure!
You're gonna make me have a heart attack just thinking about all this scene building man! D: Absolutely fantastic work! There's no way this will go unnoticed.
The song goes really well with the story, the story is well put and has got me hooked, that transition to the title tho, but overall I can't go through 1 minute without saying somthing bad. Wish u luck my fren :>
some people say its not that good of animation but i absolutely love the part from 0:28 to 0:34. i love how it looks, in my opinion it helps it look more chaotic as a chase like that would be.
I love how this isn't even in the realm absurdity within the TF2 universe, incidents like these occur on the daily across the maps, and only appear as watered down reports at Mann Co Headquarters.
I don't know why, but Scout managing to outrun a camper-van and a motorcycle on a public road just gets me every time. This was enjoyable.
gotta say , prolly not the strongest animation wise but set design was great , alongside the music and lighting
Big fan of your works, Greatdictator!
ElTorro is better git gud GreatDictator ::^^)))
I'd have to agree, that one shot where the camera is on street level with all the cars and the overhead train made me moist. @ 1:19
Agreed, that shot looks like something out of a pixar movie
Greatdictator love your work with team neighborhood
That reference to The Room... certainly unexpected.
Oh, hi Mark.
Oly shit didnt even notice that this thing has my vote
Fucking Tommy Wiseau...
A surprise, but a welcome one to be sure
Ha ha ha nice story mark
That was fantastic. Everything felt so full and alive. You've got my vote.
This video really makes me wish there was some kind of open-world mode for TF2, with huge maps and lots of places for this kind of insane action to take place.
Ever heard of pc specs
@@zachiangelonunez9113 no
great work my dude. Love how alive and dynamic you make the TF2 world feel.
Engineer is Inspector Gadget confirmed.
TheHyper ActiveNinja Inspector Engie
Now that i'd watch.
This is great not just because of the animation but also because it implies that CTF should have a time limit.
It should. Sorry turbine lovers
Go go engi helicopter!
HELL SPOON "Engicopter"
It's just a Inspector Gadget reference
Roman Bellic yes i know xD
helineer
If that item was in the game it would be just like the jet pack for pyro but just for engie
The world building on display here was super impressive.
Loved that scene with the hookshot, too! Great work!
*Oh hi Mark*
Dammit I wanted to make that joke.
I love this aesthetic! Busy city, upbeat music, I really blends well with the TF2 universe!
that was fantastic!
copyrighted ost tho
Hoovy Tube no copyrighted problems mate. Got permission from the composer and studio to use it 3 months ago
Wow! This is so cool! Nice work!
To all who say CTF don't have timer:
If you check Muselk old tf2 videos that play CTF you can see it have timer and that is before Meet your match update
It didn't go into overtime, however. It ended in either a stalemate, whoever had more points, or whoever had more caps.
overtime in CTF only trigger if either team Intel are not pick up after carrier die and game will end after Intel briefcase return back to the spawn
but the video relased now ?
Actually, before 2012, it was Overtime.
And then, before Meet your Match, it was Stalemate.
SFM don't matter what game have it up to creator memories of old tf2 and some additional
Pure entertainment from start to finish. Brilliant work -- camera and lighting was fantastic!
I would like to imagine he fell into a pile of bricks behind the hay pile.
lmao
This should have ended with him falling on the ground and announcer saying "The enemy has dropped our intelligence".
Oh man some of these saxy entries are really outstanding this year
Spectacular. Heavy scrunched in his tiny plane was fabulous. I do think it could have had a stronger ending, though.
0:31 That scout must have the speed of Sonic to be able to outrun a van and a motorcycle.
The lighting in these keeps getting better every year.
Dude I loved this!! I love the little easter egg from Inspector Gadget's hat copter
this is the most underappreciated entry I've seen so far, great job!
Like that you include tf2 time period 1980's
Bruce the bulldog and Martin the TF2 time period is the 60s
Dafuqinator7 I guess your right but in 1968 to be exact
Brilliant, lots of props for a more realistic feel and engineer hatcopter
Scout:i don't think you have any idea how fast i really am
if someone said this was a new silent short by valve...
I'd believe them!
ShpeeMod surprisingly not all silent films are silent. The music is very evident. ;-)
I'd believe it if someone had told me.
0:29 I like the new Incredibiles 2 Footage.
The music makes it better too.
I thought the same thing
I absolutely love this scenebuilding and im glad i found this video again because 2 years ago i made a image trying to recreate some scenes in this video and from there i couldnt find the video and it was a memory that lasted to this year and watching this again made me happy
That engi hat would be a very good weapon idea
The nod to the room was nice
I love the slow shake of the Heavy's head... lol
dude the lighting is awesome and the music fits perfectly with whats going on in the video! And I love just how upbeat the intire video is great work!!!!
Don't worry the Scout can double jump
Imagine the plane fight as Cuphead....
Oh wait...
Oh my god that was top notch, could've watched it for so much longer!
This is one the best and funnies videos I seen on TF2 SFM!
Really good use of the cuphead soundtrack
Oh wait i realized, CTF dosent have a timer.
Wrong! Back before Meet your match update CTF have timer
Indeed
Good times
Helicopter Engie's gonna be the death of me I swear
I love the 60’s style this animation has.
Engineers flying hat should be a real thing and this is an amazing sfm
You didn't just get my vote, but you earned it.
Silly Scout. When you're plummeting towards the ground, just use your grapple hook to propel yourself towards the ground, thus cancelling your momentum
Just Cause taught me that
Or just double jumping
Damn, might be the strongest entry in terms of flow, speed and local, good work!
The scene build man Amazing! The city and everything
Wow, that music was incredible, it told the story, absolutely brilliant!
0:02
When you've been on vacation halfway across the world for 5 days and realized you left the water running
THIS IS JUST AMAZING! From the slightly exaggerated style to the great references my vote is won no question.
That was some amazing scene building and lighting
What a concept. This was astonishing. Good work! 👏👌
Great, really, attention required: 10 times more
mystery of Overtime: Scout seemingly survived falling from that height by landing in a haystack.
hmmmmmm
For someone like me 2fort is the hardest game to play. Whats odd is how the best SFMs take place there.
Wow the scenebuild here is gorgeous
The music, the animation, omg congrats on the saxxy man
I've heard overtime can be crazy, but this is ridiculous.
I'm a sucker for awesome chases and good sfms. This is probably the best sfms I've seen. Music is also great, giving more life to the crazy, insane, zany actions that are occurring. Definitely deserves voting.
Wow that was great!
Magnificent runaway thru the city 👍👌🤌🥴🤩😍😘🥳🥰❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
oh yeeeeeah Murine Corpse music from Cuphead, the right way for me to love this
There's quite a few problems here, many times the camera zooms too close to the characters at fast pace which makes it hard to tell what's going on, It could use some more Medium and Long shots. Now for the ending, it's a bit underwhelming as we do not know if Scout made it to his destination or simply passed out and got a stalemate. With all that said, everything else is great, visual is very appealing
Yozeh The ending is fine. It leaves you wondering if he made it or not (he most likely did).
I personally think it's a bit of a rushed ending
I think he fell on those mountain of hays.
Obviously.... the point is that it just ends there.
That being said, I'd love to see a polished version of this, maybe with a bit more at the ending. Definitely earned a sub.
Check out my update video for what happened at the end
I wonder if he got the permission to use the Cuphead so... yeah, he did, carry on.
I like the way you made the city in TF2 great job ;)
Great ideas in this one! Keep on animating, because when your skill in raw animation catches up with your shot composition, scripting, and choreography, you are getting a saxxy for sure!
You're gonna make me have a heart attack just thinking about all this scene building man! D: Absolutely fantastic work! There's no way this will go unnoticed.
Murine Corps made this all the better than it already was
1:18 Oh god dammit, now I have to like this video because of The Room reference
This deserves to be #1, never seen this is literally breaking the barrier of SFM!
Nice low-key Room reference.
I had to double take that one.
*Acshun!*
That was amazing, especially that lighting :D
Love the city visuals and the music as well!
God there are so many good entries this year
indeed
*ABSOLUTELY* perfect!
Good music taste
0:13 That shot of sniper is my favorite shot in any and ever!!!
Lots of good contenders this year surprisingly
Part 2 Please!
Check out my update video. There wont be one, lol
Mr. Marooned Aww. I just want to know what happens next
Watch the update video to find out what happens next! hahaha
Nice assassin's creed reference at the end
0:08 its that a scene of the antichrist?
Finally someone got it!!!! 1 last reference and Easter egg to go. It’s a quick one so you gotta keep your eyes out!
Man Murine Corps fits really good in this!
Damn that scout is fast
Scout gotta go fast
871 VIEW?!?!?!
HOW?!?!?
The movement felt fued, the props you use it intresting, the lithing is superb!
Good job man!
Would be funny if once scout impacts the Helen says "stalemate"
That would confirm he is dead...
Damn you are good at creative shots!
This was magnificent.
The song goes really well with the story, the story is well put and has got me hooked, that transition to the title tho, but overall I can't go through 1 minute without saying somthing bad. Wish u luck my fren :>
I love seeing heavy at 1:36 in that airplane that is obviously to small for him and than he says "I'm coming for you".
Probably one of my favorite saxxys
This was more of a comedy than an action entry, still really solid!
I like the story and concrpts of the animation, very creative!
This looks really freakin' good
Cuphead music in this time of the year , in this part of the video , in this part of Saxxy Awards 2017...
Impressive
some people say its not that good of animation but i absolutely love the part from 0:28 to 0:34. i love how it looks, in my opinion it helps it look more chaotic as a chase like that would be.
Wow the effort and yet it did not win I loved how original it felt the vibes it so over the top
I got nominated. thats something
Mr. Marooned true always look at the postives
What a story, Mark
2:22 I expected that he would fall into a pink and black checkered with errors.
Beautiful animation and man that music!
I love how this isn't even in the realm absurdity within the TF2 universe, incidents like these occur on the daily across the maps, and only appear as watered down reports at Mann Co Headquarters.
