Wilson is worrisome to me. The fact he played Garver last night was mind boggling. And, of course he came up three times during critical opportunities and blew them all. Wilson playing a 165 player at DH in a critical game was inexcusable.
It's almost like Dipoto is still making the lineups...he can't get out of his own way to micro manage, was same reason Angels fired him. Garver if he had any self respect should retire. JP Crawford, he can go too.
@Bhubnipz JP was dead weight as a leadoff this year, he can't hit outside pitches and has become all or nothing in his swing, him and Garver are 2 of the reasons no post season this year, but that's OK compared to guys like Wong he is an ALL Star
"This offense stunk." You got that right. Just for fun let's get in the way back machine and take a look at the Opening Day lineup. March 28 v Boston . See how that lineup has played out for so far this year. Current batting averages (9-25) after each name. 1 Crawford. 202 2 Rodriquez. Slow start but now hitting 274 3 Polanco. 219 4 Garver. 171 5 Raleigh. 218. Does have 31 HR's and is a clutch hitter. 6 Haniger. 209 7 Canzone. 196 8 Moore 204 9 France 223 with the Mariners 10 Rojas 227 1 player above 250 average. 8 below 225 average. You got it so right that Jerry waited too long in July to make moves. Proof? Right now the 3 Mariners with the highest on base percentages are. Robles 395, Turner 360, Arozarena 359. Had Jerry made those moves earlier. The Mariners are in the playoffs.
Aannnd it's mercifully, officially over. This vid is spot-on. As one commenter on LL said this week, M's ownership has mastered "profitable mediocrity" - great phrase that sums up like 90% of US franchises.
Also 1 run games has to be better. We went 27 and 28. How many blown leads after the 7th inning did we have too. Just bad not having a healtht bullpen this year.
For what it's worth, nobody is doing concise game breakdowns like yours for the Washington State Cougar Football program. A huge captive fanbase.... In a very promising year, in an evolving conference...
I don’t think Jerry is to blame. Unfortunately he appears to be limited by ownership, but the problem is most the team hitting below career averages. This seems to have almost immediately changed when they let go of Scott and JD and they hired Dan and Edgar which points to bad coaching or bad messaging.
If Julio doesn’t turn it around next season. They could possibly move him sell high. Yeah they waited to long to add pieces. We were all screaming for it when the team started to lose that 10 game lead. How are players and coaches learning they are getting let go by the media before management is telling them? That’s insane..
Honestly what cost the Mariners this season was going 5 and 8 against Angels, losing last 8 of 9 against them. Also 1 and 5 against the Tigers. If they go 8 and 5 and 3 and 3 instead, they would have 87 wins and be on track to possible get 90. Just pathetic 😂 😂
@@coolbreeze4249 If Dipoto and Hallander had more money to work with, I am pretty sure the results of the last couple of years would have been better. They could afford to overpay on trades and they wouldn't have had to dump salary. That being said, Dipoto has had 9 years and 1 playoff appearance; in more demanding cities, his time would have been up by now.
Front office for the mariners is terrible. Why let Mitch Garver continue to play? Look at what Huston did to Jose Abreu and Abreu contract was even worse then Garver's.
Why is it that the Mariners don't get more criticism from sports fans and media for being one of the worst franchises in all of sports. When you analyze the facts it's quite remarkable how terrible and futile this organization really is. A true shame for Seattle. Yet fans and media keep supporting them.
The only way they can make the playoffs is the royals going 1-4 over their last 5 and the mariners have to win 4 in a row. And thats... thats not happening.
Recap: best pitching rotation and it was wasted, 10 game lead wasted, Cal Raleigh talking shit about Houston losing early on, karma wasted this team. 😂 Time to go watch the hawks
If I'm interrupting wins above replacement correctly if JP Crawford and Julio had remained healthy the Mariners would have 89 wins right now and they have 82. Hardly a "collapse".
@@Gravelgratious I mean after today. They both make it in as Wildcard teams unless the Mariners or Twins pass them. They both have to lose all 4 of their remaining games for the Mariners to be able to sneak in with nothing less than a sweep of the A's.
Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss anything coming up for the Seahawks or more mariners content next year!!
You make an important point about putting the ball in play. The Mariners struck out more than any other team this season.
was waiting for this one! plz don't stop making vids now that we're out!
Great analysis. I will be watching this again and sharing the hell out of it. You nailed it.
Thank you!!

Agreed that was terrible. At some point you gotta try something else

JP has like 2.5 WAR. “He don’t bat good” isn’t smart analysis

So Wilson isn’t an interim manager? He’s the full time new coach just like that?

Just super well said and agreed with all your points 🎉
Ohhh shit I been waiting for this one
The product will be the exact same, EXACT same as long as dipoto is here
Yeah, blame the guy literally furthest from having the ability to win games. That makes sense

The fact that they had Mitch Garver at DH for so many at bats at the end of this year, has to be one of the most shameful things to see
What did Wilson do better than Servais??

I'm not mariners fan and hoping they would reach the playoffs cuz as kid FRASIER and other media made me intrigued about Seattle.
Owner is usually the problem.
Teoscar Hernandez having a Great Year with the Dodgers.
Owner is a funny way to spell jerry dipoto

Julio Rodriguez needs to go back to his swing during his rookie season instead of trying to change his swing
The 4 game sweep of Texas was the turning point of the season. We swept the defending champs, so that means we're the new champs RIGHT?! 🙄
No it was a glass half full ty0e of season. Half full of shit

spot on!🎯

Everyone knows The Mariners are a horrible franchise. Fans are fans, they pay to watch anything put on the field so why would the organization change?
Previous years the m’s played better in one run games

Royals won so now they have to lose out. We likely get eliminated Tomorrow

This is another variation of "if you ignore the bad stuff, the results were really good"
Huge collapse! The team was in the AL west drivers seat. They completely fell apart!
They just beat the Astros!! Three wins, watch this v the Athletics
Hope you’re right but mariners still need alot of things to go their way and I don’t think they sweep Oakland either
If Detroit & KC win one more game each it won't matter what the Mariners do.
