Honestly i am so so disappointed with this season. Full of bs. Interesting writing but this isn't what i expected. I wanted him to he caught. To be punished for his sins. I really wanted to see his facade come to light in front of his own eyes. I wanted people to find out his true personality, about his sadistic mindset and his brutal ways of killing. I wanted Joe Goldberg to see the disappointment and hatred in people's eyes for the monster he is. But instead i got a rather loosely written fiction that disappointed me with every plot. Saving Meredith is the only good thing this season had to offer. Rest is just a waste of time. The writers did so bad for Nadia and her boyfriend. I don't eveb watch another part of this shitty writing. You guys are just after minting money, stretching the plot unnecessarily for no reason at all. Who is going to fix up the loose ends? What about Paco, Joe's mum and little brother, Ellie and so many plot holes. Tbh, you writers could've done so much better. But instead you just gave us the most predictable childlike show. Utterly disappointed!
It’s not gonna be about two serial killers, the end of season 4 is gonna be joe losing his mind completely into thinking that rhys is the murder but in reality it was all joe and he was imagining that he had all these conversations and interactions with rhys
What pissed me off the most was when that undercover guy love dad hired pulled up and not only let him live but conveniently came with a new identity for him
Honestly I majorly disagree with this review. I definitely acknowledge your point of the character's shift in tone, but I think season 4 is genius. Season 4 is definitely a different shoe than season 1 but thats exactly what I love about it! Season 1 we see this derranged broken soul do crazy shit, season 2 we see him trying to get away from who he previously was but he just cant completely let go. We see Joe start to shift into a character that is more self aware, guilt ridden, and overall more empathetic by season 3 because he has a wakeup call from being around love (the person) being crazy and his very own son. I didnt like season 3 very much, but all the rest of the seasons have been great! Season 4 especially. I like that we have seen this character come so far and completely change by the 4th season that now HE is trying to catch the killer. I understand this si your complaint but I like it a lot because of the Dilema Penn Badgley points out. He said in an interview, "You is a social commentary on how we are more forgiving towards someone like Joe becuase he is conventionally attractive." Its literally a show trying to see if it can make you forgive a literal serial killer through charm, charisma, attractiveness, and an excuse to tie it all together "he's reformed" its very much so like Jekyll and Hyde in the way that it points out the duality of man is deep down all good men have an evil side and all evil men have a good side. So much so that Joe's change legitimately isnt unrealistic, its simply just not commonly noticed which is perfect because of how Joe hides everything so of course the other characters can't notice just like you might walk past a serial killer on the street and think nothing of it. I absolutely love all of this. Ontop of that to address Kate, I think she is a greta character! She is my favorite one of Joe's obsessions and 2nd best girl eight behind Dalila(rip). She is wayyyy better than Beck simply because Beck was his enabler (not purposely but she was) so far Kate has been what has grounded him and kept him goo as he is reforming, she is very dofferent from all the other girls and its in a way thats respectable. She is much more independent and rough around the edges and I absolutely love that. She represents the proof that Joe is now a different man. Previously, he would take her up on the offer to go out immediately for self plessure and validation, but now he turns her away, knowing who he was and what he is still capable of. Ontop of all of that she connects with Joe in a way none of the others have. True relatability in certain ways which truly is what Joe has always needed/been looking for.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate it! For me, if Season 4 was a standalone season without the context and character laid out in the previous seasons, I might have been onboard with it. The shift in character and tone, did not sit well with me. Now, that's not to say that someone else wouldn't not like that sort of thing, and nothing against that, different tastes and that is totally fine. I do hope they turn it around in the 2nd part. I know it's out but I still haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Cheers!
@Review This Chris wow thanks for reading that whole thing lol. I binged all of season 4 last night. I think you'll like it... needless to say I love the show even more now, but the 2nd part proved things both of us said wrong. Enjoy!
You Season 1 was fantastic. The Manhattan setting was a great choice. Season 2 was trash - Season 3 sucked. Season 4 is just awful so far - stretching the suspension of disbelief to a comical level. Joe has gone from fascinatingly deranged to just.. boring. Completely agree with your opening remarks around the show ideally having ended after Season 1.

It's definitely a cash grab, they ain't going to kill the golden goose just yet. It's sad but that's reality, unfortunately.

Oh, I watched the 2nd part...and I have some thoughts. You will hear them tomorrow, on the next episode of Dragon Ball...uh on my channel, stay tuned!
I loved season 2! But yeah it’s definitely gone downhill from there.
I agree with this review completely.
Thank you!
Put a sock in it. Your crappy review is laughable. I love this show. I love Season 4 so far.
Haha, that genuinely made me laugh. Glad, you liked it, I hope the second part is better than the first one, I want YOU to succeed as well.
