"least favourite" is a nice way to put it 😄more positive than my usual "I didn't like it" which is already a step-up from obtuse people who don't even realize that their taste is not the only thing that counts in the world that said it's okay to say a movie was really bad if you can point a better equivalent for example I watched 2024 The Demon Disorder and it's just a bad copy of 2023 When Evil Lurks (in both cases it's "limited" back country people confronted with evil and doing everything they shouldn't) P.S. I loved Dune remake visuals and atmosphere but that's all watching it I couldn't stop hearing Lynch's movie score and at the end I tought "visuals aren't enough" part 2 was straight to video for me a "DLC" of part1 rather than a new movie both lack what makes Dune Dune it's epic-ness they are too tame too soft
I remember seeing Evil Dead Rise and the whole time I was like ‘this is just Demons 2 but American and bad’. Sometimes films are like that even if the premise is ripped off over 40 years later. I did preference the ‘least favourite’ title haha cause yeah these aren’t films I dislike otherwise I’d be talking about films that people might get mad at me for hating. But I like to be open minded and to see if I can reanalyse or reappreciate a film on a later viewing, like with Dune or hopefully with I Walked With A Zombie. If anything the new Dune films made me appreciate Lynch’s film more. But I’ll probably wait another year or so before I rewatch Dune part 2, I need to be in the right place for it with the right atmosphere to really enjoy its course and rough sand.
