  • How to Make Simplest Spot Welding Machine with 8 Capacitors
Hello Dear friends, in this week’s project we want to use science and make a spot welding machine at home with the simplest electrical and mechanical materials. It is amazing that by the simplest physics law we can make a powerful energy that can melt iron and do welding, we just parallel 8 capacitors, and as a result, we have a capacitor with about 70000 uF capacity that discharges in a very small time so we have a huge current. If you are enthusiastic about the detail of the mathematical law for capacitors please look at the link below :
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacit....
As you see the current is equal to the gradient of voltage in time so be careful the current at the time of connection of the two probes is huge and maybe a little electric shock.
    ------------
    List of materials:
    Capacitor 8600uf/63v x 8
    Brass Pipe 6mm
    Brass Wire 2mm & 1mm
    Wire 3mm
    DC 12-24v 20 ampere
Please attention that if your wire (when connecting capacitors together) is thin your system will not work.

A starting level project for amateurs...Mechanical construction process is wonderful but theory section is weak because capacitors shouldn't be forced to discharge so fastly almost short circuit conditions, in such situations they go to end of their life quickly.
ideally, you must find a way to limit current for different conductor plates and add a variable timer (a few milliseconds) for welding time.
    I liked handmade, good work.

@@InnovaDIY i think it should work without the resistor .. the faster the current discharges ... the faster the weld and faster the heat gets dissipated ... at no time the current flows thru the battery because both electrodes are at a point on the same terminal of the battery ... the only think that should effect the battery would be heat ..

the current never goes thru the battery ... as both the electrodes are applied to the same spot
this will work as much as any other spot welder ... maybe the electrodes can be changed to some other metal as these tend to stick at the point of discharge ... other than that there is no problem ... even for using with battery
