Okay, so, I checked a couple of other comments. Seems like mine was was likely aimed towards others asking why Kick-Ass wasn't in the video. So yeah, people are dumb, at least enough to think Kick-Ass inst based on a comic.
Chronicle is a incredibly underrated film. It does so much right for not only the superhero genre, but also found footage, and just character dramas in general. I would've put it right up there with The Incredibles. Not sure which I like more, but they're so different it's hard to compare. I'd also say if you can count it as a movie, Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog should be in consideration.
I hated it, only because they used that stupid "found footage" bullshit. After cloverfield, I won't watch any more movies that have "found footage" as their shooting style... whoever made up that shooting "style" should be shot...
I don't like found footage either. That's why I love Chronicle as it made it work brilliantly. That being said I totally understand that if you just can't stand found footage, you won't like any found footage movie.
i enjoyed Chronicle. I mean they did not have high budget, special effects were great. Dane dehaan was great, good story, didn't like the ending
I think chronicle did a really good job for the budget they had and had a great story, I kinda didn't like how they made the protagonist the bad and his brother the protagonist in the end
I was looking forward to seeing Chronicle but was strongly disappointed. Other than the final fight scene I found it really boring & that Andrew kid annoying

I love how people keep mentioning Kick-Ass in the comment section, but he's based on a comic book. He was created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. It's pretty good. I remember reading it and thinking "this would be an interesting movie" Lo and behold, a couple of months later, it was announced.

Hancock should get his own comicbook line he's a very unique character and very different from the archetypical superheroes. Change up his backstory and I see potential.

The thing that annoys me about Unbreakable is there are countless people like this in real life. And there may be people in the real world with even greater abilities. This is a real mutation.

It doesn't have any trailers or full-on announcement type trailers, so not many people know about it. But it's coming :D

It's because Pixar respected their unique movies enough to not want to make sequels...until Disney bought them... And that's about the time Toy Story 4 and Monsters U came out. Now, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles are next in line for sequels.

I kinda feel it's more about you. You know we always add our own biased perception to everything. To me she doesn't sound at all patronizing, nor is she that monotone. She does do the typical "North American Newscaster" thing there, but that's to be expected, really. So, this is likely more of a preference thing, than anything else. If it's of any consolation, she doesn't do all of their vids... /shrug

To everyone who thinks Kick-Ass should have been on the list: Kick-Ass was based on a comic book written by Frank Miller. The more you know. Plus, I think Super should have been #2 and Chronicle should have been #3. I don't consider The Matrix a superhero movie in any way, so that's the only reason that I wouldn't give it a spot.

Beltzer0072 Watchmen was a 12 issue Comic mini-series before it was a graphic novel, but both are correct so it really doesn't matter.
Take Matrix off the list(let's be honest, it's not a superhero movie) and put Blankman somewhere in there.

As an avid comic book reader my eyes are bleeding from reading the comments.
Well that's funny I never considered Robocop or The Matrix as superhero movies, not even close. You should have put Blankman at least in the honorable mentions. I do really enjoy Unbreakable, it's M. Night's last great movie, wish he would have done the sequels instead of his last few films.
So because you never considered those superhero movies no one should, gotcha.

They even make a reference to superhero comics in the original 1987 Robocop in a newscast in the movie mentioning people seeing on the streets what they only read about before in comic books, or something like that, of course some of the source material for Robocop were things like the 'Judge Dredd' comics from 2000 A. D. plus superhero comics in general, and the late eighties were also when comics like 'The Dark Knight Returns' & Watchmen were coming out, so it's kind of hard to miss the superhero connection to Robocop IMHO.

A sequel to Unbreakable was confirmed in Split, that horror movie that can out recently.
I've not watched the full video yet, but I hope The Incredibles should be No.1 :)

Super is basically Kick-Ass, except less cool, smaller budget, and lack of laughs.
hunterkiller1440 and Rob Zombie as the voice of god...which makes up for the lack of laughs.
Super was a great film. If the budget was larger it would have definitely been better than kickass. It was way better than kick ass 2 imo.

hunterkiller1440 it was for sure a weird independent film, but so what, it's still enjoyable and at least striked me in the heart more than a lot of other films do with large budgets. LOOK at jeremyjahns review of super, he even says that it got to him, but it's all just opinions at the end of the day. i guess we just have passion for the type of guys that want to be superheroes.

Meteor Man was pretty cool, I own all 6 of the comics and I found them rather enjoyable. I believe they were released right after the movie came out. Also, I loved Darkman! I have the videogame on NES, which is also bad-ass.

While I agree that Megamind is interesting, its unique ability to satirize its own genre is probably my favorite aspect, making it hilarious.
Keanu Reeves is one of my favorite actors, the fact that he doesn't get all emotional is one of the things I like about him. He reminds me of how a lot of real people act.

Batman's not a "superhero" who falls in the superhero category ALL THE TIME! Why wouldn't Robocop or Neo (who does have super powers compared to the 'hacking' abilities of his universe)?
Well lets see: Neo has a mission to free (save) mankind from enslavement from an all powerful machine empire, his previous actions breathe new hope into a world of humans who have all but lost it....I'd say it classifies as a superhero movie.

Of course! I completelly forgot about Condor Man. And Such a brilliant virtually forgotten about move too! with Michael Crawford, better known for The Phantom of the Opera on stage and for "Some Mothers Do Av'em' on the small screen. Glad to see that Condor Man gets a mention here.

Hampus Söderberg In the matrix it's like 1995 or something. In reality it's like 22?? but it still follows the same timeline, which means that people in reality still would know who Superman was. Either that or (in case Superman would have been forgotten in the reality) anyone else who had woken up from the matrix could have just told him about it.

MAJORFANBOY 2 Yes, The T2, T3, Genesis terminator is definitely more heroic the t3 one in rise definitely dude died for John and Kate that’s more heroic than any version of rc. RC has mental issues and was forced to be robocop where the terminator learned to be human over time. Even the one in far fate though he did kill first, but the other terminators for sure.

A terminator able to learn humanity with pity that doesn't kill is just as good I'd not more than RC. The fact that he's a cop means little to me. A civilian can be more heroic than a cop in real life.

I can answer that one for you the incredible's was a superhero film at all points where as the matrix did not show his superhero abilities until the very end of the first one it would essentially be like trying to pass superman off as Clark Kentand then the very last five seconds of the film you see him a superman
Because The Incredibles is awesome.
Here's a serious suggestion . . . take a saturday, watch em both. I'll bet you've already seen them both, but watch em again. If you're not much on animation, then yeah the Incredibles probably won't stand up.
But the reality is that it's like asking "who was the best comedian of all time? Carlin or Pryor?" They're both good enough that you're splitting hairs to pick one over the other.
I will say tho that I can't see Megamind above The Matrix. Goodish tho it was, it wasn't better than The Matrix.

My definition of a superhero is one who does more than an average hero (policeman, fireman, soldier, etc) with or without power.
