Yes, but I'm pretty sure the JLA is known more by all since DC has been around for plus 70+. I think DC just doesn't want to ruined the team, they have about 100+ story plot for a movie but are afraid of the feedback. Darkknight and MOS have shown to have potential for a JL but they need more. I hear a Flash movie will happen in 2016, don't mistake it for the mini siries on tCW, WW is getting her own movie, GL might be rebooted since Ryan Reynolds was a bad choice for GL. Though Renalds has the personality for The Flash instead. Also I don't think they will add the Martian Manhunter for the 2017 debut film. I know people will go see it depends if it will be out the Avengers, X-Men, GOTG boc offices. If the do things right, I am sure they will.
The title asked for SUPER HERO teams. There was only one real super hero in Watchman, Dr. Manhattan. The rest were all just normal people trying to make a difference in a corrupt society. Actually, now that I think about it, even Dr. Manhattan wasn't a super hero. He didn't really give a shit about what humans did. He pretty much just watches as the Comedian kills a pregnant woman without doing anything to stop him.

Actually, no. Neither Avengers nor X-Men has had their core characters throughout their 50 year run. Avengers changes rosters all the time so I'll skip talking about that. X-Men changed their roster big time when they replaced Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Beast and Angel with Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler and Warpath.
I understand what you are saying, but keep in mind the Original 5 are still important characters in the series even now (specially Cykes). And except for Warpath (who is dead), all of the heros who replaced the O5 are still around most of the time. Most leave and then come back again, but it's not like they've had Avengers join the team.

X-Men had a cartoon series (at least a well known series) before Justice League and Avengers, so they were able to reach a wider range of audiences that didn't read the comics. Avengers had a cartoon series but it was fairly forgettable, and didn't get a new one until after the movie (EMH), and Justice League has only cartoons and animated movies. So yeah, before Avenger's and Justice League, everyone was already talking hype about the X-Men.

Backfromthedeadguy I'd disagree. X-men is a far more sophisticated group taking into account philosophy of what it means to be human (mutant or not). X-Men also takes into account heavy themes such racism, anti-semitism, LGBT and religion. X-Men are always more than just save the day. Both JL and X-Men have at times been resented by the world so I don't know where you are going with that.
Jay X Never mentioned anything about lack of sophistication. They're just too wrapped up in their own affairs to be an effective superhero group. And the whole persecuted mutant thing starts to get boring and repetitive after a while. To put it another way, if I were to bring a group into the our world, the X-Men would be last on my list.
While the X-Men are my fave Superhero team, and I would normally be happy to see them at the top of a list, I feel this list was based off of relevancy over actually inspecting the teams. Seems X-Men were made number 1 because they are most relevant right now, due to DOFP coming out in just a Week. Bet you if this was in 2012, they would have Avengers as number 1, and Justice League as number 1 in 2017.

Outside of the US people don't really know the Justice League too well, while they actually are very familiar (in comparison) with the Avengers and the X-Men.
The characters of the x men work better together (as character, not necessarily a team), they're more socially relevant and nuanced, they're more original, and they have better stories over all.

I never read the comics (noone in Europe did), but I always liked Marvels series and movies a lot more! Marvels heroes are more down to earth, I can identify with a lot of marvels heroes, but only with a few DC heroes! DC heroes are for me very boring and overpowered (superman, flash, green lanter,...), their weaknesses are stupid and their behavior is not interesting, except Batman. Like I said, I am not a fan of Marvel or DC, but I nearly like everyone from Marvel but only Batman and Arrow (bacause of the series) from DC.

Yes I know they have people vote on the lists but they have said before they consider many things along with the votes. They always pick comic book characters or teams for lists almost solely on the basis that they have a movie or television show, hell thats probably why the Justice League is only 3rd, since they don't have a movie yet. The Justice Society of America should have at least been an Honorable mention along with the Doom Patrol as they are essentially the basis for all superhero teams. Also Birds of Prey helps demonstrate my point because there are plenty teams from both DC and Marvel that are better then Birds of Prey, but they were most likely chosen because they had their own television show. Watchmojo picks the Movie and Television heroes and teams because they make it easier for them to create the video and it also allows them to pander to the more mainstream, less devout comic/superhero fans. I just simply want more variety from them and more respect to the source material.

Yes, I agree that the Justice League could easily take any other superhero team, but power isn't what this list is about. It's about how entertaining the group, and how well their story is presented to it's audience. Considering the social equality themes it brings up, X-Men is the clear winner in that regard. I do agree that the Justice League should've been higher than the Avengers, though.

School -> monster shows up -> putties attack -> all putties are dead so monster attacks -> monster fails so lets make it big -> zords attack big monster and kill it, bad guy curses and leaves to do his laundry -> Giant head in a jar says "hit the showers we'll be doing this 200 + times" Also don't forget the random flips over the camera. As far as I know the plot never exceeds the length of one show.

PACR66 Accordding to the definition given by Cambridge a team is: 1. "a number of people or animals who do something together as a group". 2. "used in a number of phrases that refer to people working together as a group in order to achieve something". So, not only are the GL as a whole this by definition (although to be fair organization also can be applied) but also most of the times they don´t work by themselves. They form groups to handle situations. In fact, they even ask for help from other groups of the emotional spectrum. Plus, if we take in consideration that the GL Corps are basically police officers also the term applies. Like when you are talking for example of a SWAT team not a SWAT organization.

Damien Cisneros Go read comics, there is a comic that came out years ago called Young Justice, and while it does have several characters that are just like the Teen Titans, they took their place while there was no Teen Titan comics, and "IF" you read them, I bet you would not feel like they are just the same team. Just going off of what the cartoons are is totally stupid. It is a different Robin, different Flash charater (Impulse), hell it even used the Wonder Twins effectively. The cartoon from the 90's is what takes the X-Men over the top. Those were absolutely classic and as far assuperhero teams, that was the first really good cartoon version.

The X-Men are supremely well coordinated when compared to other teams. The bond that they share is unbreakable and with that I can pledge that they will fight to their dying breath. The X-Men all share the burden of having superpowers they never chose, and with that, they all have a better understanding of one another. However, the Avengers and the Justice League are just a compilation of superheroes with the common goal to save the earth/avenge the earth. They do not engage on a personal level with each other, they never have once you get down to it. If anything, if you're talking about TEAM, The Fantastic Four and The X-Men are the superior teams. They understand each other, their chemistry is beyond comparison, and their strengths combined are unmatched.

John Amata I feel like it would, but the marriages between the members of the Avengers doesn't really make them significantly better in my opinion. The Avengers come together in a time of crisis, and after said crisis go back to their lives with their families. The married couples themselves have extremely strong chemistry but if you put together a melting pot of married couples I don't think the results would be grand. I agree the Avengers are an amazing team, but they'd have to be together all the time to rival the chemistry between the FF and the X-Men! I still love all three teams equally.

The superheroes in the JL and Avengers don't have the perfect chemistry. I think the Watchmen were excluded because in the time that the comic takes place they were only a team in the last few pages and even in the events in the past it seemed like everyone was doing their own thing.

I am a core comic fan so I use comics story/backgrounds to back up any facts. However, I do agree that Justice League is a badass team and way better than the overexposed Avengers. I think DC just doesn't want to ruined the team, they have about 100+ story plot for a movie but are afraid of the feedback. Darkknight and MOS have shown to have potential for a JL but they need more. I hear a Flash movie will happen in 2016, don't mistake it for the mini siries on tCW, WW is getting her own movie, GL might be rebooted since Ryan Reynolds was a bad choice for GL. Though Renalds has the personality for The Flash instead. Also I don't think they will add the Martian Manhunter for the 2017 debut film. I know people will go see it depends if it will be out the Avengers, X-Men, GOTG boc offices. If the do things right, I am sure they will.

The title asked for SUPER HERO teams. There was only one real super hero in Watchman, Dr. Manhattan. The rest were all just normal people trying to make a difference in a corrupt society.

Actually, no. Neither Avengers nor X-Men has had their core characters throughout their 50 year run. Avengers changes rosters all the time so I'll skip talking about that. X-Men changed their roster big time when they replaced Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Beast and Angel with Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler and Warpath.
I understand what you are saying, but keep in mind the Original 5 are still important characters in the series even now (specially Cykes). And except for Warpath (who is dead), all of the heros who replaced the O5 are still around most of the time.
Most leave and then come back again, but it's not like they've had Avengers join the team.
SurfintheHighway Namor was on the team for awhile. Other than that, none of the Avengers (besides the ones that were previously in X-Men) are mutants.

Avengers had a cartoon series but it was fairly forgettable, and didn't get a new one until after the movie (EMH), and Justice League has only cartoons and animated movies.
So yeah, before Avenger's and Justice League, everyone was already talking hype about the X-Men.

Backfromthedeadguy I'd disagree. X-men is a far more sophisticated group taking into account philosophy of what it means to be human (mutant or not). X-Men also takes into account heavy themes such racism, anti-semitism, LGBT and religion. X-Men are always more than just save the day.
Both JL and X-Men have at times been resented by the world so I don't know where you are going with that.
Jay X Never mentioned anything about lack of sophistication. They're just too wrapped up in their own affairs to be an effective superhero group. Seems X-Men were made number 1 because they are most relevant right now, due to DOFP coming out in just a Week. I never read the comics (noone in Europe did), but I always liked Marvels series and movies a lot more! Marvels heroes are more down to earth, I can identify with a lot of marvels heroes, but only with a few DC heroes! DC heroes are for me very boring and overpowered (superman, flash, green lanter,...), their weaknesses are stupid and their behavior is not interesting, except Batman.
Like I said, I am not a fan of Marvel or DC, but I nearly like everyone from Marvel but only Batman and Arrow (bacause of the series) from DC.
That's because of all the live-action movies. Both The Avengers and The X-Men.
Lets be honest this list is primarily media based. It is clearly not based on the comics at all since there is no Justice Society or Outsiders or Sentinels of Magic. Yes I know they have people vote on the lists but they have said before they consider many things along with the votes. They always pick comic book characters or teams for lists almost solely on the basis that they have a movie or television show, hell thats probably why the Justice League is only 3rd, since they don't have a movie yet. The Justice Society of America should have at least been an Honorable mention along with the Doom Patrol as they are essentially the basis for all superhero teams. Also Birds of Prey helps demonstrate my point because there are plenty teams from both DC and Marvel that are better then Birds of Prey, but they were most likely chosen because they had their own television show. Watchmojo picks the Movie and Television heroes and teams because they make it easier for them to create the video and it also allows them to pander to the more mainstream, less devout comic/superhero fans. I just simply want more variety from them and more respect to the source material.

Yes, I agree that the Justice League could easily take any other superhero team, but power isn't what this list is about. It's about how entertaining the group, and how well their story is presented to it's audience. Considering the social equality themes it brings up, X-Men is the clear winner in that regard. I do agree that the Justice League should've been higher than the Avengers, though.

School -> monster shows up -> putties attack -> all putties are dead so monster attacks -> monster fails so lets make it big -> zords attack big monster and kill it, bad guy curses and leaves to do his laundry -> Giant head in a jar says "hit the showers we'll be doing this 200 + times"
Also don't forget the random flips over the camera. As far as I know the plot never exceeds the length of one show.

The Green Lantern Corps should not be on the list, just because they are not a team, they are a group, an organization of isolated agents across the galaxy. And the TMNT are a team, they work as a team, they are a family goddamed, this list is about team, not whos more powerful.

So, not only are the GL as a whole this by definition (although to be fair organization also can be applied) but also most of the times they don´t work by themselves. They form groups to handle situations. In fact, they even ask for help from other groups of the emotional spectrum.
Plus, if we take in consideration that the GL Corps are basically police officers also the term applies. Like when you are talking for example of a SWAT team not a SWAT organization.

Damien Cisneros Go read comics, there is a comic that came out years ago called Young Justice, and while it does have several characters that are just like the Teen Titans, they took their place while there was no Teen Titan comics, and "IF" you read them, I bet you would not feel like they are just the same team. Just going off of what the cartoons are is totally stupid. It is a different Robin, different Flash charater (Impulse), hell it even used the Wonder Twins effectively. Go look it up it was an awesome read by Peter David. Similar sure, but the same no. Go read some.

The cartoon from the 90's is what takes the X-Men over the top. Those were absolutely classic and as far assuperhero teams, that was the first really good cartoon version.

AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE! - Man this is really fun to say!
The X-Men are supremely well coordinated when compared to other teams. The bond that they share is unbreakable and with that I can pledge that they will fight to their dying breath. The X-Men all share the burden of having superpowers they never chose, and with that, they all have a better understanding of one another. However, the Avengers and the Justice League are just a compilation of superheroes with the common goal to save the earth/avenge the earth. They do not engage on a personal level with each other, they never have once you get down to it.
If anything, if you're talking about TEAM, The Fantastic Four and The X-Men are the superior teams. They understand each other, their chemistry is beyond comparison, and their strengths combined are unmatched.
Captain Kirbs Though you have to remember the avengers did have many personal conflicts and whatnot but I agree the bond between the X-men and Fantastic Four are much greater. But remember wives and husbands have really strong bonds but that does no make them superior to the X-Men though does it?
John Amata I feel like it would, but the marriages between the members of the Avengers doesn't really make them significantly better in my opinion. The Avengers come together in a time of crisis, and after said crisis go back to their lives with their families. The married couples themselves have extremely strong chemistry but if you put together a melting pot of married couples I don't think the results would be grand. I agree the Avengers are an amazing team, but they'd have to be together all the time to rival the chemistry between the FF and the X-Men!

Captain Kirbs I agree 100%. If anyone's ever watched the Justice League cartoons, there's an episode that describes their situation perfectly. Same goes for Avengers. The superheroes in the JL and Avengers don't have the perfect chemistry. They always get into fights and their pride gets in the way of their common goal (this goes mostly to Batman and Iron Man, where Batman's contingency plans nearly killed the entire JL and Iron Man being the huge jackass that he is).
However, the X-Men on the other hand, LIVE together, TRAIN together, go on vacation/outings together... they basically DO everything together. Storm said the Jean is basically like her sister. Professor X says that Cyclops is like a son to him. And everyone still accepts Wolverine despite his past and questionable behaviour and morals, as if he were the prodigal son of Professor X. No other team beats the X-Men's chemistry with each other.

I am a core comic fan so I use comics story/backgrounds to back up any facts. However, I do agree that Justice League is a badass team and way better than the overexposed Avengers. Like you said, no one was talking about the Avengers, until the movie came out. Sadly, now they are everywhere because of the movie. I always said the Avengers are heroes with utensils and Justice League would win if they were ever in battle.
