    The switching directions of the volume buttons controls has been driving me nuts! Glad I’m not the only one who noticed lol.

      Even after almost 2 days it‘s still throwing me of every time I touch the buttons 😅

      Can you confirm that this wasn‘t the case for M1/M2?

      @@FlorianBodlee I’m sure it’s something I will get used to. The comment about it matching the Magic Keyboard button directions was helpful. But I tried turning the volume down last night and was wondering why it was getting louder 😂
      As far as if M1/M2 made this change I’m not sure. I upgraded from an 11” 2018 with an A12X and did not upgrade until this generation because of the 11” not getting a better display until now.

      U can change this in settings. IDK why it’s on by default now but at least u change change it back (well at least u can on iPad Air 5 so I’m guessing its also true for iPad Pro)

    The 5th one is an ambient light sensor for my understanding. It’s what gives the flash the information to change different flash settings for the new document scanning process they have.

    The 5th element is a 2nd ambient light sensor like with the 14 and 15 pros there is an ambient light sensor on the back used by the “adaptive” flash to help it understand what combination of its leds to use when taking pictures depending on the lighting situation.

      Happy you enjoyed the video! Yeah I love it too! I‘m nostalgic of the white MacBook and silver iPod Nano era, so I really wanted the silver one. Actually already wanted it for the A12Z but it wasn‘t in stock back then 😅 I got the 1TB with cellular version because I need the 16GB or RAM for my work with it :)

      @@FlorianBodlee Hi! I am also adding a huge thanks for your video on iPad pro 11” and the choice to take it over the rest of the gang. I am curious about the workflow you are going to build with the machine. So, going to watch your further interactions with it. I am tempted to buy 512gb/8ram, but I hope that you will help me to see, if there is a really important gap between 8/16ram for iPad usage. Anyway. Be well, my friend

    You can change the setting for volume control in the Settings -> Sounds if you don‘t like that :)

    • @FlorianBodlee
      @FlorianBodlee  20 днів тому

      Actually, this settings was removed from the following iPad generations onwards according to Apple‘s support article 102354:
      iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation)
      iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation)
      iPad (10th generation)
      iPad mini (6th generation)
      iPad Air (5th generation)
      It used to be changeable in the past but not anymore…

    Nice informative video. Question: I got the IPad Pro M2 12.9” about 2 months ago, is it worth upgrading to the Oled display? I really don’t notice blooming on the M2. I use it for notes, Netflix, UA-cam and browsing the web. Sometimes Procreate too.

    • @FlorianBodlee
      @FlorianBodlee  20 днів тому +2

      Hey there :) Do you have the 11“ or the 13“? I think from my first impressions you won‘t need to upgrade from M1/M2, especially not if you already got the one with the 16GB of RAM. M1 is plenty powerful still and my main driver was the upgrade from 6GB RAM in the A12Z to the 16GB in the M4 1TB model. The screen is obviously amazing but I think if you have the 13“ with the mini LED, that‘s already a very very good display and I probably wouldn‘t upgrade tbh… What are some of the things you do with your M1 iPad?

      @@FlorianBodlee if I’m playing music on my Apple TV, I can go on my iPhone, click the airplay button and under “Control Other Devices” select Apple TV and control the tv music from my iPhone Apple Music app. The iPad doesn’t appear under control other devices, only Apple TV, iPhone, and Mac as far as I’m aware. But I could be mistaken.

      @FlorianBodlee  20 днів тому

      Just tested it, definitely also works on iPad :) When you go to the control center and click the AirPlay button, there is a button under the devices that said „Control Other Speakers & TVs“ and if you click that it does exactly what you want :) Let me know if this works for you! :)

    Which apps crashed because of "only" 6GB ram? Thats why you chose 16GB this time? I am about to get a new Ipad... not sure now if 8GB is enough. I am not doing something extraordinary with the iPad...
    I want to replace my Macbook Air with the new Ipad... so I am really looking forward to your next video! :)

    • @FlorianBodlee
      @FlorianBodlee  18 днів тому +1

      Hey there :) The only apps I had crash on me on their own (as far as I recall) were DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Lightroom at extremely heavy loads (e.g. playing back multiple 4K video tracks with effects or batch photo editing) but I had multiple cases where I had apps or even springboard (the iOS / iPadOS „window manager“) crash on me when using multiple apps in stage manger. I think as a rule of thumb; if you‘re planning to use 4 - 8 apps in stage manager (I.e. using a secondary screen and multitasking heavily) or if you do video editing you should consider the 16GB model. Generally speaking, I believe 8 GB should be enough for most people today but given that the M4 processor is very powerful, I expect this iPad Pro to receive updates for a comparatively long time and „age very well“. So I think future proofing it with 16GB of RAM is not a bad idea if you want to use it for longer. That said, M1 and upwards support using your storage as swap space (effectively RAM). That means that you should be much less likely to run into memory related crashes with M1+ compared to the A12Z in my previous iPad Pro. Hope this was helpful and welcome to the channel, happy to have you here! 🥳

      @@FlorianBodlee Wow, vielen Dank! That was very helpful. I am not planing to use stage manager or an external display. I will use it for pretty basic tasks. I think 8GB should be fine then. I have no TV and I always wanted an OLED display so... Pro it will be. ;)
