Thank you all for the comments. Yes it is a little too pretty to use, at least not until you manage to put the first couple scratches in it! Fine Woodworkers of South Carolina, I finished it with 2 coats of Deft Danish Oil. They no longer make the stuff but I have a limited stash of it.

Oh man, I seriously covet this bench and envy the workmanship that has crated it. Well done sir, there aren't many who could achieve such a thing.
But, but, but.... you put shavings all over it. It's too beautiful to use, I'd put that in my dining room.

Its beautiful, I can see it being used as furniture. As a bench i would have to cover it in plywood to keep off the glue and chisel marks.
Did you use a finish on your bench? If so, what type of finish?
I could use a bench like that. Only if i had 1/1000 of your skill and talent to properly put that bench to use.
Very nice bench. It won't fit my small workshop though...
I will not use that bench, it's too beautiful. It made me cringe when you laid that planer on top of it.
