Just got a 300L for more off road riding. Been watching you for years but your 300L series actually didn't influence my impulse buy. But they're proving helpful for giving me ideas for this winter project.
I'm still blown away at how fast that 300 is. My 250L Rally with the same yoshi system, EJK, and K&N filter would maybe eek out 82 mph with the wind at my back. Which is still a good 10mph faster than stock under the same conditions.
Be careful with the target afr values. 12.2 is waaay too rich even at 8k rpm or above. You risk getting fuel into your oil (just happens on single cyclinders). 13.5 is good at part throttle but for full throttle 12.9 should be the lowest to go. Also when you datalog you shouldn't pop wheelies or do stuff like that. If the system is smart it knows where fuel enrichment happens when opening the throttle quick and cuts the data out of the datalog but if not there are wrong rich spots which the software leans out a lot. This can lead to the bike running bad. Got Autotune for my 701 and experimentet a lot with that. There is a lot to care about when using it. Thats why a static tune on a Dyno is good because they break the engine at lets say 10% throttle to min rpm and then they release the break and start logging the afr values so there are no fuel enrichments happening.
@@LCFTW93That is his water temp gauge. Lol. While McKinney Texas has been a viral meme recently with over 1000 degree forcasts... I think Jake wouldn't ride in that heat. Lol
@@supermotosMan, where I live it's only been getting into the 90s like this year, and I can't stand it. I don't know how people on the west live lol (I've heard it gets above 100, and water doesn't boil until like 2-300 something, I think... I'm not a dr 😂 I'm too dumb to be)
seeing this video reignited by anxiety on my motorcycle lol. I'm in a dilemma right now with my tenere 700. I bought it with some airbox mods and header/cat delete/aftermarket muffler. Dealer had no idea if it was tuned or not. Runs like an animal no issues at all but figured if it's tuned they would run the fan temp activation sooner than 220. I cannot find anyway to figure out if it's been flashed. I don't see any type of piggy back kit or extra wires in the harness. I haven't looked at the physical ecu yet to see if there's writing on it but do you know of any plug in device that would be able to see it?
Definitely need to see this on a dyno, and also get a 2nd opinion from the tuner on if your fueling is 100% across the range. Also how are you tuning the ignition timing advance curve without a knock sensor, as I imagine that the modifications you have done and the high compression piston need some big changes to the ignition mapping? I'll l guess conservatively on the dyno bhp at 31.5 rwhp and 36bhp at the crank. Any less would seem unfair for the $$$$'s and and time you've put in. Fingers crossed!
I learned from you years ago that a nice gold color on the header is a good sign of a good fuel to air ratio. I thought my DRZ with the air box mod, JD jet kit, and full yosh exhaust looked good, but now looking at how gold yours looked, I may be a little lean. Should I try a click up on the needle and see how she feels?
With the exhaust sniffer, the megavision tuner, the laptop math table thingy with all the red numbers, the computer script in klingon, the flash in the ecu with the data logs from the sniffer into the laptop through the megavision via the ecu... and the big nosebleed after watching... I'd say... 123.4hp easy +/- 45% of margin error. 🤔
Hello friend I want you to try one thing, I think it will surprise you, modify the position of the balance shaft pinion one point clockwise. The bike has better power.
Jake. Get an aracer ecu. It will do all the automatically 😁 aracer and Honda are a match made in heaven. Once you get it you never have to mess with it again. And you just let it tune to mods on the fly
13:1 is SO rich for low-load cruising...I have my S1000RR targeting 14:1 and I think even that is too rich. After talking to several dyno tuners I have heard multiple say that they just target 13.2:1 for ALL power settings and RPM....SMGDH
I’ve been pulled over like a dozen times for wheelies but never got a ticket. I’m just an adult about it with the cops. Like “yeah I know and I understand if you write me a ticket”. Then I also have all my tags and insurance. Everything’s on the up and up. And they always let me off. Sometimes you get chewed out, that’s fine, don’t cost you any money. But most of the time now I’m doing wheelies on back roads and it’s not an issue.

It’s definitely a lot of mods though and it’s the same mill as the 250 so it’s possible to make it the same
Damnnn brother almost 100mph on the 300 is epic 🎉

Excellent. Informative and interesting. I'll probably never do it, but its good to get the idea of how it works.
Can you do a tier list of which mod in your opinion is a must and what one can avoid buying once the build is 100% done?
Sure, that could be a good video
@@TheGardenSnakeor 2 videos 👀 one for base upgrades that are core for all 4 builds and one that's mode specific for each version of the build

I wonder if the screen was schitzing out cause of the heat.... It has been as little warm in North Texas recently.

This heat can ingest a satchel of richards. I went out on a day trip last weekend and I was cooking. Like sitting behind a jet engine for 8 hours.

Does this work with any set of mods? Like just a full system exhaust or slip on?

Any news on a dyno run?
