Just got the super meteor 650 for my first bike. I'm one of the first in my area to get one.
Agreed, that is all the power one really needs and can really use on the road.
@@matt59firewas it easy to pass your A license with no experience?
@skillfuldabest It was. Sadly they were a little short with me. They expect everyone to already have been riding for years. The very first thing I was asked by the instructor is what bike I currently ride. Most dudes drove to class on one. The u turn in the box was the only thing I struggled with because the bikes they had us on were very touchy in first gear and I didn't master the Friction zone yet
@@matt59firegood to know. I actually “failed” my first CBT on a geared bike and the week after I cheated and did it on a scooter. Now I’m debating whether I should buy a 125cc scooter (Honda forza 125) or try and be cool and do my A license with no experience.
It seems that Royal Enfield is sending out ahead of the new bikes kits to custom shops which contain unpainted tank, side panels mud guards and headlamp casing. I believe Royal Enfield is prepping them for a Shotgun 650 build off. I'd love to see them sell kits like that for other bikes in their lineup. Let everyone go build crazy.
They should have given the new Himalayan's digital console in SG650. Implementation of Navigation in that is next level.
I was about to comment the same thing 🤜🤛
Same thought
They probably didnt because that wouldnt fit with a retro bike. I appreciate the navigation is superior there, but I definitely want to have an analogue speedo, and you dont get that on the Himalayan dash.
The new nav system on the Himalayan isn't anything new.
It is native Google maps.
No need for the RE app, as on tripper.
You plan your route in goggle maps and then sync it to the bike.
Some car companies have been doing it for a while now.
You do realise you have to leave your phone screen on to use the nav on the himi450.. such a bad design, phone battery goes flat quick because the mapping is actually running off your phone with the screen duplicating to the bikes screen
Aaah! I just got my Classic 350 2023~ and I love the look of this one!
More shy than the concept. But it remains a fabulous engine and excellent value for money for less than half the price of a Triumph or a Kawasaki. The Royal Enfields are in tune with the times. Affordable, reliable and economical.
Its have the price of a Triumph or Kawasaki because it has about 60% of the power. Do people in Europe, buy bikes as their only means of transportation?
@@spartanx169x way more people around the world buy motorcycles primarily for transport than otherwise. Plus half the cost gets you 90% of the enjoyment, so more people with frugal budgets for a bike-as-a-hobby can get into it.
@@spartanx169x With the Euro economy entering slowdown, RE bikes may perhaps be the best option around.
@@spartanx169xpeople in Europe and Asia use bikes as means of transportation and hobby - but for many in crowded areas, often times bikes are common. In India, for example, the common man can only afford a cheaper bike, and for him perhaps an RE is sensible enough to purchase.
For the price, it is a completely sensible choice, and is beautiful aesthetically.
@@gomongoosethe best option is obviously a 125cc scooter. Under-seat storage and excellent mpg
Better looking than the Super Meteor. A definite step up!
3:19 - I'd disagree. Mind you I own a Celestial Red SM 650!! I love it!!
I love the motorcycle, but the colors on the tank remind me of something out of California in the early 90s. One of the wonderful things about Royal Enfield is all the paint options.
It looks a very nice bike, looking forward to trying it. RE can certainly teach Triumph a thing or two on price and colour's that's for sure.
In the concept, they had complete chrome hubs in the wheels that have been replaced by rims. I personally think that the chrome hubs looked good.
Looking forward to seeing this in the states and throwing a leg over, may consider trading in my little hunter 350 … lets see what happens … happy holidays … see ya next year!!
Very cool that even with it's bobber like style, Royal Enfield thought up a way to give it some utility if wanted by way of the optional rear rack.
Much anticipated, will be one of the biggest commercial successes in the upcoming years. Especially as a one-seater.
Awesome looking bike, and I just want one. Most appealing RE bike for me. Big thing will be what the available colors will be when it launches in Q1
Thanks Bob. Would love to try any RE 650 to see how they go as this certainly has the looks. Reckon this would have been a strong contender against my V7 850, and a nice saving too 💰
Lovely! Definitely will be my new bike. Better looking than the Super Meteor. A definite step up!.
I'm an Australian and ride a 2020 Classic 500 and was interested in the Shotgun 650 with the mid controls and I'm disappointed that it doesn't look as per the concept and am now looking at the 2023 Harley Davidson X500.
Lovely! Definitely will be my new bike
I'd love to get hold of one of the 25. I'm a sucker for special editions.
I’m very intrigued. I was liking the super meteor but forward controls don’t work for me due to spinal issues and the weight of a heavy Harley doesn’t work for me anymore. Definitely going to give it an in depth look when they get here in the US
I’m very intrigued by this bike as well. I’m also in the US. I’m curious about that seat though. I feel like it could be pretty rough nearly being a free flowing seat.
Love it. Single seat and a pair of slips ons and it'll be brilliant. Can't get my head round the asymmetrical gauge pods though!
I will buy interceptor next month
It should have been with twin lights
Is it coming to the US?
Hope they have a plain paint version. Not really digging modern graphics on a classic design.
I like it. Kind of like a budget Bobber. The paint scheme is awful but I expect the model they actually release will have more tasteful options.
This bike cannot come soon enough
Looks like R&D stopped when it got to the mirrors and indicators. For sure could have done much better .
It reminds me SO MUCH of the HD iron 883. Might very well be capable of filling that gap in the market
Any idea why RE insists on not giving their bikes more power?
A majority of their bikes go to countries that value lower cc machine like India
RE doesn't really give more power to its bikes because it's home country, my country will just not be viable. 40 hp is more than enough on Indian roads to have a lot of fun. but I'm sure there working on something with more power, something which is liquid-cooledd like the new Himalayan it's actually getting pretty competitive in its segment with its 450 cc giving 40 hp for an extremely good price
Because if you want more power, go to ANY other brand. RE is the only one selling these entry level cruisers right now apart from a Honda Rebel.
ignore all of the previous baseless answers...reason is because of the RE as a brand focus more on old school character similar to harley davidson and such brands are loved and preferred by the brand followers due to such characters and also long stroke engines which REs have tend to have more torque than the power.
Royal Enfield want to remain very competitive in price, and more power needs more expensive water cooling
I have wanted a Interceptor 650 for a while. I love my raider but want something smaller bike for around town and short trips
Was about to buy a classic 350 but i might just wait the shotgun 650
I hope the seat can be easily lowered...I have 27in inseam :( Or else Id have to go with rebel 500
Love the looks of this bike. I think though the supermeteor looks even better but cant stand thoose front pegs. This is better with midpegs and the black exhaust. Tired of all this chrome. The supermeteor front looks better imo. Glad to see more afortable bikes nowadays when the prices go skyhigh. Wish they would go for a stronger more powerful engine. Go for a stronger engine and abs thats good enough the keep the cost down. Skip all this new tech nonsens such as radar system etc etc on new modern bikes. Who needs that shit. Only there to keep the prices up but take away all the fun of riding. Glad so many new bikes in the middle size coming to compeat with the big manufactures out there.
Nah…not convinced…still awaiting the 650 Classic
This is the bike I want
Triumph is working on a another 400cc bike that looks like street tripple rr
I would absolutely buy a 400 triple
Will they sell this in the States? Id buy it right now!
Strongly disagree with the paint job for this kind of bike. That being said, great bike and great video. Thanks!
such a beauty after seeing it in flesh images do not justify
Do you have any info on the weight, ans seat hight 😢
Nice, but would have been a bit better with a 750/850 bore..
Siddhartha Lal , ripping his shotgun 650 a hundred years from now was really funny LOL.
What about performance mods
Is shotgun good for long rides?
classic 650?
bobber?
is it lighter than the SM?
I hate that paint job and don’t like the seat but otherwise it looks good, dig the black everything.
I don't think they made it look different enough from the SM650 to be excited about it.
I know what you mean but mid-foot position is a plus for me, I've never liked feet forward pegs.
Really? Because for me the centre-set pegs make all the difference and that will apply for plenty of buyers that may like the look of a cruiser but dont actually want that seating position. Plus this bike looks different enough for me, I love the big tank and big rear mudguard.
Where is USB charger port located?
No chrome. Feels a bit strange to me, for a bike with that silhouette.
I watched another English gentleman review/chat about this bike last night. He, and every other comment just hated the paint. I thought 'what a bunch of old farts"...and I am one!! I'm glad then I'm not the only one who finds the paint on this wee beauty pretty damn cool. But it's horses for courses. And if it came out in all black...well...ok then!! :)
Selling in Canada. They might have to rename it. Naming things guns that are not guns but a motorcycle. We got laws about this.
Hi buddy I am from tamilnadu at india❤❤❤❤
So???? LMFAO!! I’m from Mars. Nice to meet you. 😹😂😃
The frame around the side panel is an ugly bend, same on the 350's. That's OK but the side panels following it only highlights its ugliness, it'd be better if the panels covered that area flowing the tank into the rear guard. Nice vid again.
A long way from the concept model which was way better looking than this…. this is just a customized Super Meteor…. it seems RE only wants and is allowed to build to keep the price down… this would have been a great opportunity to go a bit more crazy and to a higher price for sure but it would have shown that there is more to RE than only “budget” bikes….
Limited version paint scheme is not that great .. production version are far better
I am beginning to think that when this goes into production, RE will have to do a bit more to differentiate it from the Super Meteor.
And that will come with a 'surprise' announcement of a new engine, basically a bored out 650 to something around 8-900cc?
With it tuned and geared to produce a heap of torque at the low to mid rev range and top speed limited to 115-120mph.
They're doing RnD on a V-twin around 850cc. But it has a long way to go.
Lol, nothing looks like concept oyher than few graphic bits
i want one :)
I’d like to see a little more powerful engine.. 650 is a bit tame.. 900cc would be much better..
Great looking bike but very unfortunate no dealers in Aberdeen
Priced at £27,000 as the Interceptor Ltd Edition. 🤣😂🤣
Triumph Bonny all the way.
Don't look much different from the 650 meteor
It’s a bit sad because there’s something missing from the concept that was giving it that arrogance…the concept also seemed to be lower.
RE bikes are gorgeous! However, I can't imagine their bikes for anyone but beginners, the budget conscious, or aesthetic town-only bois. 47hp for a 650cc block? Oof.
Or us guys that don't need to do 70mph in first gear.
@@leearcher3252 Fair enough. I have a little Honda CB300R as my learner bike which has a very similar power to weight ratio (0.09 Vs. 0.10) and I feel ready to jump to a higher power bike due to it feeling unsafely slow on the highway or other high-speed areas, as after 70mph it loses a lot of steam.
@@ReaversRespite I live in the UK, where the highest speed limit is 70mph.
Plus I am old enough to not get myself into situations where I need POWER.
WAAAAAY to much flat black. And as long as that remains the case, nothing else matters.
biger jawa perka or smaller h-d sportster for a2 .
I do believe your reviews have improved. They are no longer so focused for the spec sheet wankers and are much better for it.
As usual, the video is top-notch.
The bike though is a meh...
Classic 650. Which is cool, since I own a Classic 350
😂its way different from its promo video😂😂😂
In my opinion, if you are going to use the same engine, you need to make the bike look and feel different enough. This is just copy paste at this point
It looks a bit off, kind of if someone was in a hurry to getsomething out.
Dont like it at all
There is one thing ppl need to know as well!
Royal Enfield is not worth its money!😂
I have driven a Himalayan and it’s terrible any used 20 years old Transalp with about 100.000 miles on it is the better choice!
Cheers man of culture
Click bait at its finest. 8 things you need to know? Just list the features of the fkn bike. It's not magic.
The instrument gauges look like something you’d see on a 1980s video game. 👎🏽
Is it just me or do RE bikes still look a bit cheap. You can’t compare them to the finish of a Triumph or Guzzi but I guess you get what you pay for…
It's weird cos the Super Meteor and the new Himalayan looks up there with triumph in terms of fit and finish, but the Shotgun surprisingly doesn't look as good. It's giving a slightly cheaper feeling, better quality than the Interceptor but worse than the other newer bikes.
😍 loading... ❤️🔥Honda 350❤️🔥
Looks ok to me, need a bigger engine ? Why , good entry bike enough power for the uk and its clogged crappy roads. Need a bigger bike get a Harley if you can afford it and afford to insure it
Jawa Bobber is way more beautiful than this
Lol jawa bobber looks like small kid bike
Why is it so heavy, 240 kg?
No rev counter. Booo...
I want to see water cooling on new RE bikes .
why?
Royal Enfield Shotgun, should be called the Royal Enfield Bitza, bitza this and bitza that 🤣 nothing like the 2022 concept that looked like a proper bobber. Royal Enfield bottled it and went the easy route of the RE spares bin to cut costs. Nothing new to see here just a Mish mash of parts from the classic, hunter, interceptor and super meteor 650 the only thing they kept from the 2022 concept was the paint job (and only slightly). I guess Royal Enfield have never heard of the term "flogging a dead horse". 😂
concept was appealing
reality is another matter
it looks so bland
eyyy what's with this ulgy looking tripper navigation thingy here making the cockpit all wanky and lop-sided. i wish it has rev counter dial of the same size as the other one for good asthetic balance
why are they still using cafe racer 650 engine for cruiser
make a bigger stroke same engine for this which might end up around 800cc
i love super meteor and shotgun but engine from interceptor is a no for me,
at this point it's a pretender
Sounds like dirt bike
Nice one Bob !
Who says you can't polish a turd 😅
They've also forgotten the saree guard 😮
A turd?
No pillion no sarees,no need for saree guard

I just hope for better colours this one is a ugly.
Rode the bike, suspension is not good
How? This bike is not even available for test ride
Chapri 😂😂😂
@udaysingh9_11 it's basically customized version of super meteor 650.
@@Dsvkd what chapri?
@@Dushyant933 yes it's using the same chassis but the bikes might differ in weight. The suspension might also be different since we don't have the specs yet
Bla bla, bla, all the same as the last one.
Did they mean to go all out to produce a really tacky bike
Why did they make it so ugly 🤢🤢
Highly unreliable!
Looks bad
Man, it's just an uglier trim of the SM. Enfield is just competing against itself. The ergos look improved, tho.
NO THanks
47 hp. You better be careful on that beast. 😄
