And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!" that was all i could hear with that music xD
At least someone did :) Part 1 ended up getting far more views than part 2, but the Forgotten Realms wiki could not really use a two part giant video, so smash them together for them.
What would part 3 contain? There are some other stories from the giants, like The Last March of the Giants. And we have uprisings of giants seen from the humans perspectives, like the Last stand at Humaithaira. But I don't think there is a unified story to be told after the fall of Lanaxis.
Forgotten Realms History I thought it was something like that but was wondering if any of the other stories had enough material for a video. If not, o well
So what's the connection to the modern Giant Lords from Lanaxis and his brothers? Natural offspring? The various Giant deities are mentioned early on in the video, but how to they factor after the fall of Ostoria?
So those guys are Annams children but born outside the Crystal Sphear of the Forgotten Realms. AO has special rules on allowing diety like creators into Realmspace, and these gods did not pass through initially. You can see the same problem happening to the mulhorandi pantheon. In later stages, these gods have gained some access, and can grant spells to their relevant clerics, but retain the same "no gods walk the realms" requirements that AO currently has in place. Since Lenaxis and his crew were born inside Realmspace, they circumvented the rule that AO put down, and I have a theory that Annam was more powerful, or as powerful as AO, so he could go where he wanted. All of Annams children were gods, or godlike, so Lenaxis is as powerful as the Surtr or any of the other children of Annam.
@@ForgottenRealmsHistorySuper helpful reply, thanks! After reading into Annam quite a bit and drawing comparisons to Norse and German mythology, I agree that Annam was likely as powerful as AO or at the very least, as potently creative and influential.
If this was before the creator races we are talking before -35000 DR so you need to add years in which your campaign is in approx 1500 = minimum of - 36500 years ago.
Could you please do a video on the lords alliance of the savage fronteir? Also please do more videos on how the different kingdoms in faerun and such wage war
Forgotten Realms History , where do you get that this Giant Deity Annam All-Father, "Created not just the heavens and the earth but the light time and the elements themselves" wasn't that AO? OK, maybe par of it Selune and Shar too? but a giant deity that nobody talks about since 3rd edition... I dunno :(
You misunderstand my channel to be "Objective truth" - This is how the Giants see the world being created. The Elves have their own creation story, and other races (creator races, Dragons, Illithids and Aboleths) all have their own way of telling how the world was first made. - AO on his side, only control the Crystal Sphere where Toril exists in. The way the Giants tell it, Annam was the creator of the material planes as plane of existence, even the planes and the great wheel itself was created by him. He was the first, before demons and devils, before light and darkness.
José Escohotado Hernando he comes from 2nd established lore and official canon of forgotten realms He created shar and Selene.....😹 So says the evil giant god 😂😂😂😂
Ao created Realmspace, and gods spawn from that. But Annam is the creator of the multi-universe, and is the father of many god like beings. - I would argue that Annam is a far more powerful being than Ao, but power on that scale is maybe not graspable.
@@jaylonrobinson7092 Ao is overgod and if lore is true about Annam (he was not evil) then he will be similar or greater power while 5E Asmodeus could maybe pass as greater or intermediate god on power scale - so please do not be childish. If you will come to theory that he is one of the world serpents than you talking similar level but "in recovery". For me it will be more interesting to compare power of primordials against overgods and I will throw obyrith in the mix as well for the comparison as according to lore war was tipped by treason of 1 primordial so it must be close.
While we work on improving the Kiaransalee audio, please enjoy this re-release (unified, and re-processed) version of A History of Giants.
This video holds an incredible amount of quality and love for the Forgotten Realms. Please come back at making more D&D lore content.

I made my voice actor do a special listen to that intro and told him "do it like that, but as a dwarf" :)
He did great :D
Fire and Wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky...but Crom is your god.
Othea was just throwing that thang around huh
I can't wait for the reversion of giants. I'll keep re searching.
Anyone else want to run a giant campaign in the ancient Realms?
This is exceptional content 👌. Love the dwarf narration
This is awesome! Keep going.
We plan to :)
Cool
Liked both versions of this

Forgotten Realms History that makes sense. Did you ever want to do a part three? I’m not sure how much lore there is but I would love to see it.

Excelent video!
Recently started watching these. Big fan. good job sir!

I learned more about deities here on UA-cam than at school, lol
Absolutely killed it with the voice!
:)
Do you know approx how long ago giants existed? 32 thousand years? More? Thanks!

The height of the giants empire was around -28 000 DR. Their reign lasted from -30 000 DR to - 24 000 DR. As writen in the grand history of the realm.

Working on a few more Waterdeep: Dragon Heist related videos at the moment, and Lords Alliance is in there :)
I've done battle with both Fire Giants and Frost Giants. Fearsome foes they are.
Storm giants are worse, titans even more so.
Where do the storm giants come from?
They would be decedents of Nicias, who ruled the sky.
@@ForgottenRealmsHistory Yes I know, I meant to say what region would they be likely to be seen.
So, Annam goes around bedding goddesses, and primordials, and he's called a creator. Othea does it, and it's adultery... Hmm. 🧐
Great 😂

As soon as the narration started, I got a Conan: The Barbarian vibe... The narrator sounds a bit like Mako... :)

Cool video but this voice is incredibly grating
Nope... the voice... nope. sorry man, way too obnoxious to listen past a couple minutes.
The voice is ridiculous super unnecessary and kills every vibe
