One multinational city to live in Malta

- If you wonder where to live in Malta, one great multination city is Paola. This is a city with around 10 000 citizens. This city is in the central area of Malta, on a 15min bus ride to Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Paola is beautiful, very busy, lots of shops, restaurants and connections around Malta. I wonder if this is one of the best places for expats to live in Malta, it is affordable and property prices are on the cheaper side.

Hey Alex, Deepika here. I finally reached Malta and it has been 2 days now in Santa Venera. It is beautiful and the weather is fantastic. I did visit little India yesterday in Msida and it suddenly felt like home 😅 I am so glad I have seen so many videos of you in Malta that I feel so comfortable already. You are doing a great job and the kind of help you are doing to folks who just come to the country is amazing. You are a rockstar ❤ Lots of love ☺️
Deepika ❤️ WELCOME !!! Welcome to Malta, i am glad to see your comment as i remember ALL your comments prior arrival to Malta. I would love to meet you, please send me an email

Im happy to know you enjoyed it
Ok, yes now I remember I watched this video, thanks for telling me you made one about this town. P.s. Grandpa at the end, looking at you from a car- hilarious.😂
Hi Alex, thanks for the wander . Love seeing the old style house /streets 🥰 there’s a good mix with shops etc .. love the guy watching you 👀 from his car at end of video 😂 🌟
Haha that man was so adorable, he enjoyed the show :)
A nice informative video. I lived in Paola 1963-66 as a child. Its certainly changed a lot. The traffic used to go either side of the kiosk in the square. I always visit Paola and sit at the kiosk to bring back some of my childhood memories when in Malta. Thanks for bringing back some memories. :) I return for a break there in 2 weeks.
Im so halpy i brought up some memories, im glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
Love all you videos but really enjoy these informative videos about local towns especially those that are not on the tourist trail
Thanks Ann, and i enjoyed creating them ❤️
Million thanks for making a video on Paola it's beautiful and here I would like to congratulate you on Maltese TV show illum in which you were Guest it was amazingly presented by the lady host as she did shown many clips of Alex in MALTA.
❤️thank you so much
Hi Alex, thanks for this video of Paola. I love it there, every time I have visited from Sydney Australia, I have stayed with my cousin who lives in Paola, so, I guess you can say I have a "special" feeling about Paola. I really enjoyed watching this, as I do with ALL your videos! Thankyou!
❤️thank you from the heart Frida
My friend moved from London to Paola as she loves the busy vibe. My friend William has a lovely pet shop on Triq il-palma
Thank you for sharing this ❤️
Bravo Alex
I grew up in Paola in the 50s and 60s but its a few miles west of this Paola. Kansas has a Paola, Fontana and a Lawrence. When we lived in Gozo, Qala we had to do a day trip to Paola and enjoyed it very much. Over here we pronoun Paola (Pay-O-La). Keep up the good work. Missing Malta! We now live in Lawrence, USA. (San Lawrence) Gozo.
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤️

Very easy going, always positive and bright content. And I love the way you laugh, my friend !
Please consider making vids about local cuisine, and maybe clips about real people doing different jobs. Something like "1 day of hotel manager in Malta", or " becoming a fisherman in Malta for 1 day", or maybe find some rare jobs - like a pilot of a private plane, or a construction sea diver, or a zoo keeper, etc.
You're a sweet guy - keep it up ^_^
Thank you so much, i love this ALEXANDRO🤩 definitely cusine related video is coming soon ❤️ and thanks for all the ideas

Hello Alex...I love your tour through Malta...I have friends and family over there.Iam in Australia never been to Malta....
Hello Alex! I have been following you for a very long time and thanks to you, I am becoming passionate about this small yet fascinating state. I'm not sure if it could be an idea for your future videos, and if you've already done it, I must have missed it, but it would be interesting if you did a video interview with a tax consultant regarding Maltese taxation, along with its incentives and agreements, both for companies and individuals. Congratulations on what you're doing! Thank you, Roberto
Its in the pipeline Roberto ❤️thank you so so much
Alex, we call those streets "cobblestones " in the UK. My wife and I love your videos and your vibrant personality ❤️
Thank you so much Steven❤️❤️
Great video Alex
Thank you Pat ❤️
Waaaaaaoooooo it's amazing 😍
OMG Alex, it's so crazy to see you walking that close to where I used to live!! Because as I told you before, I lived in Fgura, which is like little walk from the place for example where there was the prison for women, lot of times I used that bus stop to go to the airport, or eat something in the Burger King there! lol And yes, a prison tour would be a really interesting video!!! :D Paola square was so helpful for me all the time, as it has a lot of bus connections, and shops, living in Fgura was quite efficent, as it close to Paola (walking distance from my house) Valletta etc :)) Not even mentioning amazing video as always, maybe next one is from Fgura?? (no pressure ofc, its a joke, maybe theres no video topic at all) :D lol grandpa at the end was looooking :D :D
Haha thanks buddy for your constant support and amazing comments, i always love reading them. Paola is great and watch out for Fgura video :) uffffff imagine i do a tour inside the prison and even speak with the prisoners 🤩🤩🤩that would be AMAZING
@@AlexinMalta ooh im watching out then! 🤩🤩 yes, would be a great topic, and i dont think thats really covered on youtube yet!!
Thank you very much.....
Hi Alex my father was born in Paola, nice to see, I haven’t been for 27 years.
Thanks for the video .
27y 🤩😍you might have seen some changes thru this video. Paola is a beautiful city, nowadays very busy
There were no street works back then.
Thanks brother you make video on Paola city
❤️
How happy you made me seeing where I lived for some time how much it has changed my Father helped in building that church going after he’s days work to help
Im so happy i made you happy, honestly. The point of my videos is to share a positive vibe and happiness ❤️
Hello Alex!
I have been living in Paola for 30 years , juat need to point out 2 things,
Casa Paola is an elderly home not a guest house and the part you said that look's like an industrial area is actually not, we have an industrial area behind MCAST which is called Kordin. Thanks for promoting my beautiful city!
Thank you so much for this :)
Casa Paola is a home for the elderly actually. Some areas in Paola have stunning facades and you can even find a few large buildings from the time of the knights. Behind the prison is a beautiful orchard garden and there is access to the mosque and MCAST area too. Paola is indeed busy but there are quieter streets and the shops are a plus. Paola is an affordable town to buy property and has still beautiful townhouses within is urban conservation area (central to the villages/town). The persons buying UCA pay no Tax so could be one of the reasons you find several foreigners in Paola central areas plus many rentals here too.
What a beautiful comment. Thank you for all of this Sarah, its nice to see insight from a local
Hi Alex I am Maltese living in Germany... I love your Channel... I miss my little Island and you make me miss it more... one tip go visit Qormi and buy the delicious bread we have there... ❤

I had been in Malta for 6 months I was living in Gozo it was beautiful
Gozo is majestic❤️
Alex, your video was good
NEVER KNEW THAT "PAOLA" IS SO MULTICULTURAL NOW 🌏. Alex, that was a nice tour of "Rahal Gdid" pointing out "the biggest church ⛪" in Malta and the "only Mosque 🕌" in Malta. One can say Paola is unique.
I like your compliment about Malta Police and I take it, it includes "ex"👮as well 🧓 😍☺.
Just watched your TVM "ILLUM" interview (7/3/23 @ -35:05) with Stephanie Spiteri and Alex you were amazing 👨 🇲🇰 🌟. I'm sure they'll be approaching you with a tempting o€€er 📺 ☺.

Your comments are a pleasure to read, always! Thank you so much. Once i said it and im gonna say it again, cannot wait to meet you in person!
@@AlexinMalta Alex, looking forward in meeting you as well one day. Your "Maltese" is good. BTW, invoice 📝 €€€€ for my "Talent Scouting & Promotion" 🌟 services is in the post 😂 🤣 😂. Take care 🙏 and watch out for KIWI the parrot 🐦 ☺.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
Prosit Alex. You do a great job.
Grazzi❤️
Haha, we say "prosit!" here in Sweden when someone sneezes ☺️
Thanks for your videos Alex, they are always very useful! I noticed your audio was a bit saturated, fixing that is not hard, let me know is you're interested and i'll let you know how to do it very easily
Hey Ivan thank you so much! I dont know what im doing wrong, maybe the settings on my mic are not done properly
@@AlexinMalta I believe your mic is a rode wireless go, or a very similar one. try to reduce the sensibility to -20dB or around that, it's always better to increase the volume in post. You will always be able to reduce background noise (there are tons of ways to do it), but not recovering a saturated audio and make it sound good enough
The nicest streets are behind the church! They are intact. Its a shame you did not see them :)
hi Alex i love your video im from nepal and live in bugibba malta.
Alex well done 👍🇦🇺from australia
Much love to Australia
Hello Alex you should featured also the fish market in Paola this is also 1 reason why theres a lot of foreigner visit in paola specially during Saturday morning Market..
Thanks
Hey, thanks for letting me know about this, i didnt know. I filmed this video last Thursday :)
Can you please have a video where the Maltese go for ethic Maltese food. I was born in Malta but grew up in Canada. I have been back 3 times and I did enjoy the Maltese restaurant. I have not been back for 5 years and plan on visit again next year.
I love poala. Its very busy. I recently looked at a property opposite the police station to buy but I didn't like it but that'd where I would look again to but xx
I really liked Paola as well :)

HELLO Alex, Your videos are pretty great and it really helps me to know more about Malta to come for studying. But I have something difficult to get student visa. May I ask you some questions to you the process of getting student visa applying for outside of Malta. Thank you so much.
Thank you. I have a video about it
I have visited Paola today )) hmm, I recommend you to add few words about tarxien temples ;)
I will make a video on Tarxien soon :)
Paola is not my vibe either, as it's too busy ... It's basically a neater version of Hamrun.
However I'm glad that, just like me, you noticed the stunning architecture and urban planning of the old town, where everything looks uniform and neat. It's a pity the construction industry and our planning authorities don't seem to care about this at all just because making a quick buck is easier.
I could not agree more with your comment ❤️
Hey I livining Maisda malta is very beautiful place ❤❤
Hi Alex, I am in Taiwan and have been following you for more than a year! Can you consider doing a video for Marsaskala? I will be traveling to Malta in May, and hope to bump into you somewhere in Malta then! 😊
Hey hey. Thank you !!! Guess what, i was supposed to film Marsaskala instead of Paola :) so watch out Marsaskala is coming out very soon :)
Can't wait!! 😋
Hi Alex - what impact has Covid had in Malta? Watching events from here in the U.K. it has had a terrible effect in my native Ireland the last time I passed through Dublin
Well... Valletta is the central hub for buses, so as long as a bus is on the second half of its route then it should almost always end up there regardless of the number.
👍🏻
👌
👍🏻
Hi Alex, you are the superstar haha

1:38 No Alex those are the Japanese store and you can find that in Sliema

Hi Censina, I thought of you when I saw Paola on this video. I bet it has changed a lot since the war. We enjoyed our visit there, and found the small church that my Nan was married in called St Ubaldesca.
Talking about Hamrun... The city is all red and black!
What do you mean ?

Hey. Maybe i will

Where are the trees? Is there no grass around at all?
There is a garden right off from the prison. It's a park actually but we did not see it on video. Maybe not enough time. It's really a lovely park.
No trees in this area :)
I heard theres too many English in Malta.... a good thing.... of course :)
Hehe i guess :)
The property is cheaper in Paola so these lower income people live there. Even prices are cheaper.
I noticed that
6:15 i think inside of the prison is kinda dirty
I wish i could do a tour
Hi,
I saw my house at 2:20 which it is under construction, do you want an update?😉😉
Yes please 🤩
My house is opposite, and I can confirm the build is going very well.

Btw, it is a well known phenomenon worldwide that more men end up in prison than women. Also the large majority of violent crime is committed by men. So the answer to your question is yes 😛. But it's not only in Malta of course. While variations from country to country exist, there's usually around 4 men for every 1 woman imprisoned.
Thank you for this statistics :)
Apparently Malta has the highest percentage of female prisoners in the EU
@@jackcole3146 maybe because many of them look and talk like men. 😁 (Non-PC joke but couldn't resist)
