How to prepare to receive 1day old chicks

Preparing to receive day old chicks. The poultry farmer must ensure that there is a brooder from where the chicks will be brooded. The brooder should have a clean floor made of soft material such as boxes and wood shavings. All surfaces inside the brooder must be disinfected using good disinfectants like jik. The brooder must be warmed up at least 3 hours before the arrival of chicks. Drinking Water must be put in the brooder at least shortly before the arrival of the chicks such that they are able to drink water before eating feeds. An energy giving compound such as glucose must be added into this water to give instant energy. The brooder must be fitted with a light before the arrival of chicks.
