*_A very recommended tent model in my opinion, because in my country there is no snow, so I imagine camping in the winter, how cold it will be. Oh yes, nice to meet me sir_*
I always thought it was march that comes in like a lion or goes out like a lamb. Great video,, and really like that ten and stove set up. Nice camp out !!
for all hot tents, the placement of the stove really depends on where the tent has its stove jack (hole). In this case it is in the vestibule, its always interesting to see where they put the jack or the area where you have to cut it yourself.
Nice to see you again with a new adventure and with such good material, Rob. You are a man of the woods. It hurts so much snow that it can sometimes be uncomfortable. Good for the whiskey drink. Internal heat. A hug, my friend.
That was a nice and cozy camp ! I alway's wonder how a small stove like this can heat a tent but it seems to work . Almost no snow where you are , it really looks like spring Thanks for sharing
It actually does a pretty good job but it's not very consistent like a bigger stove with decent size pieces of wood but it works for drying out gear etc. Smaller tent definitely helps!
Just discovered your channel and what a nice surprise to see my stove and tent giving you such great service. I think Pomoly makes some of the best gear around. Enjoyed your trip and will catch up with some of your other adventures. Thank you
Still can’t believe UA-camrs go through all the trouble of putting up all that gear for one day. I would have to do Fri, Sat then leave Sun late. People that head to the desert do it that way here in San Diego County. There is a chance to actually relax and enjoy the set up.
It is crazy! Most UA-camrs like me do this as a side project as well as having a full time job so we just have to make the most of the time we have to be able to consistently upload
After watching you add whiskey to your mug, I've got a hankering for a mug of tea laced with rum. Needless to say I've added a bottle to my shopping list. Cheers, Rob. 🇬🇧😉
Bend the bottom row of tabs out and put the spark arrestor on the inside of the pipe. Slide a ring up to secure it. If you dont bend the tabs the spark arrestor will slide down and plug off!
I first bent them in and just sat it on top. But its the same diameter as the damper and you need all the draw you can get at times. Running the stove in my new dome x4 (amazing hot tent!) I just changed it. Its a serious flaw! Have had my tent full of smoke a couple times. Also, clean it every day on multiday camps. Even if burning hard wood!!! Be safe out there, glad to see your getting out!🍻
@@BrooksandBirches We have alot of heat here in the summer, so far our winter has been really mild, it doesn't seem like winter. Today low 60s, and rest of the week mild. I built a small log cabin on our property that were building a house on, waiting on some snow, I may be waiting a long time lol... but still camp here when I can. Thanks for replying, really like your channel and your conversation with us. Looking for the next😎
the camping looks amazing. Wish we have a good place to camp too here in Cali. I don't like that campsite stuff, but to find a place and camp out in the wilderness. Glad you're having fun out there.
I understand! It's taken me a while to find some decent "off trail" spots I can go too. Spring is usually the best time to explore just after the snow melts
@@BrooksandBirches I know, but I like it when you do the rainy season and snow or maybe the windy season. Springtime or fall season seems to be boring. I wish we have a decent trail here too so camping can be fun.
Idk about everyone else, but I use 17" plastic tent spikes year round. Too bad the manufacturer didn't incorporate a clear plastic tent flap for more radiant heat.
I’ve seen that hot tent in other videos. How did you like it? Seems like you’d lose a lot of heat with the stove being in a separate vestibule. Good video as always though!!
It works pretty well I would say! That stove is probably overkill for the size of that tent so the heat loss really wasn't bad. The tent is crazy heavy though
So I had a bench made bush crafter for years and I loved that thing but ended up losing it.... Then I had an adventure sworn that I used for a while but I did not do a great job of maintaining a carbon steel blade so that got ruined after a canoe trip. Right now I am using a Stainless Mora Garberg and it is great! I have pretty much come to the conclusion that for me, stainless blade is the way to go. I'm not going to get home from every trip and remember to oil down my knife
Lots have people have been saying they aren’t getting notified anymore which is frustrating. Right now I’m carrying a Mora Garberg with a stainless steel blade
I've never tried a G-stove but I have tried both Winnerwell and Pomoly stoves. If you are looking for a one to backpack with I would go Pomoly. If you are looking for car camping then Winnerwell wins
Thanks Violet! I've been trying to lose some weight recently. Working out twice a day. Once in the morning on an empty stomach and then making sure I get in all my calories before 7pm

Could be! The guy I heard it from said February but he could have got it messed up!
That is a cool tent set up. And I could smell the coffee steeping in your cup and the brisk morning air . Nice
I definitely like the setup of the tent. It's a little heavy but it wasn't too bad in the end
Putting the stove in the vestibule is a great idea to avoid a too-hot-too-cold all night situation!

Very true! It's also much much easier than constantly worrying about accidentally using your gear into it and burning a nice big hole in your stuff
Thanks for taking me along Rob.
Thanks for coming buddy!!

Gracias Miguel! The snow is definitely hard on the body at times. It hurts my knees but it can be very beautiful
So beautiful, that was great. Thank you for sharing! Take care Rob!
Thanks Bobbie!!
Thanks for sharing this video with me 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Anytime Jeanetta 😊👍
The camo on your pack nicely matches the trunk of that big white pine. Love your videos!
Thanks Mark! 👍 It really blends in quite well!
Hi. EXCELLENT. CAMPING.

Excellent and nifty new setup!!😊✌️💚✊️🔥
Thanks ✌ looking forward to bringing the wife out with me 🔥

I've noticed that most UA-camrs cut out the moment when they roll up the chimney 🤣 Nice video and beaufifull shots!

always enjoy watching your videos!
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Amazing hot tent.welcome dude
Enjoyed seeing you make an adult cider. As always another great video
First time doing that and it was AMAZING! definitely will be doing more of that

Good trip Rob! Take the sunshine in Feburary whenever You can get it!
I agree Robert!!

Sounds good to me! First time trying the hot apple cider with a bit of whiskey and it was AMAZING!
I was hoping you had a new video tonight. 🏕️🪓🪵🔥❄️

First for Rob !
Thanks Sylvain!

Beautiful! I could watch these snow camp videos all day. We’ve had little snow this year unfortunately.
You and me both! It's been a very mild winter unfortunately
Great video buddy, now I want a meatball sammy!
Go for it!
@@BrooksandBirches I should clarify, I want you to make me a meatball sammy lol
Nice one Rob. Good to see you back out there. Note: Bring napkins for the meatball sub!! 😉
Haha cheers! Yeah I needed a couple of napkins
Great video brother, really like the snow North Carolina doesn't get snow
Thanks buddy! Yeah I never really got snow in England! My wife wants to move south but I like the snow

Very mild winter so far should be good for wildlife survival but also ticks. I wonder what March will bring? Thanks for the video!
Me too! It has been very mild, seen some good deer sign in the daks at higher elevations already so hopefully a few made it through
Seeing bunch of these on channels now curious how they well they hold up
I'm going to do a review on it on my other channel! I'm hoping to take the wife out in this one so I'm hoping it holds up well

Dude... Kifaru Sawtooth.... I'm telling ya!...😁
My buddy has a kifaru and he loves it... I'm trying to be a good boy and save some money right now
What one does he have?
What camera set up do you use?...love your videos
just curious what knife you carry with you generally? do you have a go to favorite or just try out a bunch of different ones?

Good thing you ate that sandwich where you did. Won't be good with sauce on the tent floor.
You got that right! I actually turned the camera off and ate the rest outside before I got sauce everywhere
Not sure what's up, but I don't get your notifications anymore.
Anyways great vid.
What kind of knife you carrying?
Lots have people have been saying they aren’t getting notified anymore which is frustrating.

I wanted to get a gstove for hot tent camping, but it looks like the company went under. 😕 Any good recommendations for alternatives?

Sheesh, Rob. No winter pounds on you this year, think I gained them all instead. You look great! What's your secret?
Thanks Violet! I've been trying to lose some weight recently. Working out twice a day. Once in the morning on an empty stomach and then making sure I get in all my calories before 7pm
Just saying ... I like the assortment of stoves, but am not a fan of the roll up chimneys
I don't like the roll up chimneys either. They can be a real pain in the ass
First put all The Polens in the tent That’s muts easier next time
Haha yeah I realized that as I was trying to put the last pole in!
Your knife is making short work of that hardwood…
The Mora Garberg is a classic
