Can I just say the camera does not do the actual peaks justice. They are much harder than they look and I’m still walking like a wolly. This “forced adventure” was not easy ❤❤
110% reeeeeespect for Scarlett. at 14 that is not an achievement to be underplayed... I've walked Pen-Y-Ghent in the opposite direction (On a 12 mile route) and It's no joke. What a great day you must have both had !! Always seems a nightmare while doing it but a great achievement when completed !! Top work by both..... just so we're clear ...... what did that back pack weigh ? 😉
She was awesome. I have a love/hate relationship with Pen-y-Ghent. Love defeating it, hate heights. And the backpack was a soul destroying forty five pOuNdS. 😅🤣
Daughters are the best, aren't they, Ryan? Have two of my own (a bit older than yours) and was smiling through the video watching your interaction. Cool video - thanks for sharing.
Unique experience to share with your daughter. I would love to do something similar with mine. It is important to show them there are other ways to have fun other than their phones and screen time, inspire them to be healthy and exercise, specially build resilience and enjoy pushing and do hard things. Like always very inspiring.
Jacobs ladder on the fan dance will probably test your fear of heights , but i imagine will be a satisfying achievement to have overcome the fear. Top effort by Scarlett, she has your determination and perseverance. The sticks might have helped with the downhill bit at the end 😊
My compliments to you and your daughter, especially if such a tour was the first for her! I made similar experiences with the quality of backpacks and can really confirm the importance of quality backpacks. My private Lowepro Patagonia was (and still is) much better than the backpack I was issued when I joined the army (German Bundeswehr) in the late 1980s. :-)
Very entertaining, and well done to both of you. However, I cant't believe you thought clockwise would be easier! The thought of descending the steep bits of ingleborough and pe y ghent, with a heavy pack, makes me wince. I am much happier ascending the steep bits. And you did not use your sticks, they would have given you the stability you needed whilst descending. But again, very well done. A great accomplishment and hopefully fantastic bonding experience for both of you.
Well done to both if you. Tough day out, more enjoyable when the weather is kind. I did it each month last year and have to say the way you did it is far more challenging on the legs. 👏👏👏
Great video! What a good kid. That is a massive challenge for anyone, so you both understandably found it hard, but she kept her spirits up and got it completed despite having an opportunity to bail after finishing two tough peaks! You’re clearly very proud, but in my opinion, you have every right to be, she’s great.
Subbbed. Attempting this on Friday carrying 25kg. And then attempting this in September carrying 50kg for Help for heroes in 12 hours or under. Great and informative video mate.
This video is brilliant Ryan. Im doing this next week. Hats off to you carrying that weight about on your back and hats off to your dauther for doing it. My son is 15 in going to try and get him to do it at some point 👍🏻
Firstly well done Scarlet, an amazing effort. Secondly well done you. That's a lot of weight on that terrain at that distance. Looking forward to your Fan Dance.
Such a cool video, Ryan. Scarlett did amazing, especially to carry on after the break. I think anyone would have forgiven her for calling it a day there. She's also pretty good with the camera and talking. The Condon YT Empire begins! And you looked like you coped with the rucksack really well. Doing that in that heat is tough as nails. 💪
Fantastic effort by both of you. Well done to Scarlet for keeping your spirits up. BTW that pack looked really heavy, it was a shame that you never mentioned how heavy it was 😮
Wonderful video, really enjoyed it, love the Y3Ps. The elevations you were giving assumed you started each peak at sea level. It is only about 1600m, 5300ft of elevation...
That was brilliant Ryan, a huge well done to you and Scarlett!! I thoroughly enjoyed the video and in particular Scarlett's commentary! Feeling really inspired since watching, I might go for a half term walk up The Roaches in the Peaks this half term week 😊 nowhere near as challenging as what you have done but it's a start 😁 Thanks for sharing!
Just come across your channel mate and what a great first video to watch! Well done both of you 💪 we just did it recently (well two out of the four did 😅) and its tough! We’ve subbed to catch more 👍
Randomly came across your channel last night, really enjoyed your don’t get dropped on zwift video (it’s a subject close to my heart 😂) But had to say this video is great! I’ve fairly recently become a Dad & I strive to have such a good relationship with my daughter as you do. I’m a Yorkshire man myself & have completed the Y3P many times, hopefully one day with my daughter too! Keep it up 💪
Welldone on completing it. Deffo tough but achievable. Sorry your car broke down, couldn't think of anything worse after completing that. Thanks for watching.
Well done Scarlett! Great job both of you. Probably would have made the video better if you mentioned the weight of the backpack. 😁. Congrats on 4K, it will probably take off now and you'll hit 1 million by fall.
The three peaks round is about 1400m of ascent. The low point is Horton at 250m, about 480m to Inglebourgh summit, from the valley above Chaple en le frith at 290m to Wernside summit is about 440m and from the low point of 260m to Pen-y-gent is 430m which is 1350m and given that the route is surprisingly smooth there is very little reascent, there is around 20m on Inglebourgh and probably the same between Wernside and Pen-y-gent. Inglebourgh to Wernside has virtually none and same on the descent from Pen-y-gent to Horton. You should by now realise that mentally it is much easier to go anti-clockwise as then you get that long boring bit done while you are still fresh.
I like that "boring bit", its horses for courses. I like clockwise (Ingleborough first) as I dont like heights and would rather get that done on the decent and enjoy the flats upto Pen-Y-Ghent. However anyone tackles it, I wouldn't consider it easy otherwise no one would do it. Thanks for watching.
Straps the equivalent of a 6 year old on his back... Don't know why I sound knackered here 😂 Holy Moley pal, that's some effort. Well played. I've come down from almost 17 stone to under 14 now. I think I could slap a 3 stone bag on and do this.... Probably
Not saying you went the wrong way, but generally descending steep bits can often be more difficult (technically, not necessarily extertion wise) than climbing them. Awesome video and challenge for both of y'all to overcome!
Oh, and my family has a running joke of 'just six more miles' that we would tell everytime a hike was dragging on and seemed like it would never end. Seems like 5k to go is your 6 more miles.
Sorry Ryan I don’t think I understand the weight of that bag could you say that again please 😂😂😂 Huuuugggeeeee respect to both of you and congrats to both of you for completing it!!
@@RyanCondon I don’t envy you mate! Useful video though as I’m taking my fiancé hiking up Ingleborough next month and you did the same route I’m planning!

OK, Scarlett is my hero. If I had asked my daughters, at age 14, to take on a what is essentially a marathon with, they'd have told me to shove it.
She initially did but caved.. Hence the "forced adventure" bit. 😅
😂 It’s plain that she loves and respects her dad. Heartwarming! Oh, and how heavy was that backpack? 😂
