    I hope this helps you in your search for the best keyboard stand. I know this is the one for me! What are the needs you have in a keyboard stand?

      I'm looking at this stand for my home studio. I'm hoping to put it up against a wall and not have too big a gap between the back of the keyboard and the wall. How far do the backs of the base stick out relative to the back of the tabletop?

      Ah, the installation instructions have all the measurements I needed. In case anyone else is curious www.k-m.de/cdn/installation_instructions/int/18810-015-55.pdf

      I'm glad you found that! Probably more helpful than what I could guess. I did look at the stand when you asked and it looks like there's about a 7 inch difference between the top and the bottom on the back side. so I'd guess there would be a gap but the gap also depends on how deep the keyboard is that you are supporting.

      The lowest level of the stand height is 600 mm. Do you happen to know whether this is measured 600 mm all the way above the main horizontal frame, or just below the frame, because the frame is kinda thick? Very well explained video by the way!

      As I said in my main reply, my needs:
      - foldability (for storage for making space, or taking it with me on the bicycle - I'm Dutch)
      - adjustibility for sitting down / standing up - since you can convert the Omega system into a DJ-table now (and I also DJ)
      - expandility, which is why I love the Omega system, which the 18810 & 18820 are the base of

    I have this keyboard stand.. I did not need the foldable one because this was the stand for my keyboard which weighs about 50 lbs. I was so thrilled to find there was a matching keyboard bench that matched. After I assembled both and sat down on the bench it reminded me of a piano bench. I am on the shorter side so I needed a stand that would have lower settings so my keyboard would be at the right height. I have had it for over 3 years and it still looks and works great.

    I own both the standard Omega and the foldable Omega. I keep the non-folding version in our practice studio, and I take the foldable one with me on the road. I also have the second tier for both. The stands are incredible and built like tanks. They are simple to set up and break down and have plenty of adjustments if you play sitting or standing. I've had other stands through the years and none of them can compare to the K&M Omega. These are the best I've played on. I place a Yamaha CP88 on the base and stack a Yamaha Montage 6 on the second tier. The stand could hold even more weight if needed and is rock solid. They are expensive but will last for years - well worth the investment and you get what you pay for. I highly recommend the folding version.

    Great info I've been using x stands with 2 and three tiers
    Couple keyboards and the light board for thirty years finally revisited upgrade options I like the speed of the x stand but hit and miss about stability plus when you do a gliss you'd better hold on or the board will go flying
    I watched your video a I made the change
    First job was on a bunch of flat rocks the leveling legs shined, solid as a rock
    Bought the second and third tier will be getting the adapter and boom
    Tear down was a breeze with the folding legs
    Not sure how much more I want to add music stand ect
    Don't want an octopus but so far with just the 2nd and 3rd tiers it packed up in seconds

    I love K&M and definitely recommend anything that they make. I user their Spider Pro column stands, which can hold up to three tiers. They are rock solid and also allow for attacment of mcrophones and laptop/tablet holders. I'm sure that their table stands are equally well-made and desirable.

    I can relate to much of this video, and my experiences with a veritable alphabet soup of other stand types led me to this keyboard stand, the best one for me. I am also tall - about 6'4'' and change, so stand height has always been an issue since I started playing. The early days of my first bands were comical - crouching over a wobbly X-stand that looked like an ironing board. Later I had the idea of getting a 2-tier X-stand and only using the top tier, with a board across the lower tier to hold the set list and other bits and pieces.
    A few years later, when I had a bit more money, I tried an Ultimate I-stand supporting two synths, but it also felt shaky and wasn't easily height adjustable. Fast forward five years, after equally unsuccessful encounters with A-stands, V-stands and Z-stands, I eventually settled on the Quiklok Monolith, which was (and still is) an excellent stand, but extremely heavy and bulky.
    Because I like to switch between playing seated and standing, that also presents a problem. With the Monolith, I set the stand near the top of its height range and sat on a bar stool, which allowed me to stand up without the entire stand height suddenly becoming too low. That has been my setup ever since, but I switched to the K&M because of its lighter weight and foldability.
    Crazy that I was 20 years into my semi-pro keyboard playing career before I found a stand that worked for me. The number of synths that I went through in that time is another story...

    • @mattmckeon1688
      @mattmckeon1688 Рік тому

      The experience taught me that table-top keyboard stands are the only ones for me. They're the only ones where increasing the playing height doesn't compromise the load-bearing capacity and/or the stability of the stand. And the K&M Omega comes in a ruby red variant, which looks awesome on stage with my Nord Electro 6. 😊

    Tanks for the video. Can smaller Stage Pianos like the Casio PX-S1100 also stand on it? The Casio ist only 225mm in depth and the stand where you put the piano on is said to be 345mm in depth and the rubber is only on the end. So will the Casio slide around because it will not reach the rubber?

    I like the 18810, but the 18820 is on top of my list. As you explained, for me that € 29 is worth it. I wouldn't upgrade a 18810 to 18820 unless you really need to - things can change after all - but since I haven't bought a keyboardstand yet, the 18820 wil lbe my first. In case you wonder, before this I would put my keyboard on the floor as a child and on my half height bed as a teenager / young adult. Now I'm back into music making with a DAW and I miss using a keyboard. Exactly because I could put my midikeyboard in a closet, therefore I want the 18820 since that also can go in the closet very tightly if I need more space in this room. Still, great choice!

    • @mikebardenpiano
      @mikebardenpiano  2 роки тому

      Awesome, thanks for the feedback on that. It's all about what works for you. If I need to get a stand again, I'll probably go for the 18820 because I do so much setup/teardown in the live application.

    Hi, great video. One question if you know, my one keyboard (korg nautilus) have depth (cm): 38.6, and another for second tier (yamaha psr sx700) have a depth (cm): 43.1
    On official K&M page I found that model 18820/18810 have support depth: 34,5 cm, and second tier 18811 have support depth: 33 cm. Now Im worried, is this depth ok for my keyboards? Thnx

    Indubbiamente il miglior supporto per tastiere: la tastiera non si muove di un millimetro, è ben stabilizzata. Ma onestamente dovrei avere un roadie per portarlo in giro. E' ingombrante, ogni volta per trasportarlo va smontato. Un vero incubo sinceramente. Credo sia un po' meglio il KONIG & MEYER 18950, che è richiudibile e trasportabile.
