I was looking for a stand for my new korg kronos 2 in my studio and I came across this. I think I have my ideal solution. Thank you for taking the time to post this!
Instant like .
THIS. Is the keyboard stand I've been searching for !
Thank you 😊
Glad you found the video Tatyana, I felt the same when I found it!
Thanks for this! Exactly the setup I’ve been looking for with my Komplete Kontrol and Maschine.
TY so much for this! unusually, (from my watchings) your presentation was excellent, i could hear every word & the speed of your speech was perfect, so i could follow what you were saying! :-)
Bro, this what I’m looking for! Thank you a lot!
Just what I was looking for, thanks.
Yeah this is dope!
Such a helpful and great video :) Thank you!
I've had this for years, it's great
Oh for real, dope! I’m late to the game!
A few years on but still very relevant and informative! Thanks man :)
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 glad you found the video helpful brother!
Thanks for the detailed explanation. Conviced me to go ahead with my purchase. 🙂
great vid ! really helped me with a new perspective
this is amazing, thank you! i’m chillin here in 2022 and this still seems like the best option (greetings to 2018, now’s a good time to hop off to another planet)
Amazing stand dood .. well done! Love the fact that I can potentially put a small mixer and sound module on the laptop tray above the keyboard .. I am sold!
The possibilities are endless! I've set it up in about 4 different ways since I've had it. Glad I could share it with you!
@@stefanguy Thanks, so what do I need to put a small mackie 1220 mixer and the Roland Integra 7 sound module and my roland rd-64? I got a pair of yamaha speakers on their own stands so no worries there.
Bingo ! At last i've found my dream stand after much research - you know how it goes - if you keep digging long enough - eventually you strike gold. I bought the K & M piano bench 14087 recently and it's the bees knees.Heading over to K & M now to have a shooftie at the stand and brace myself for the price - but as one camera gear channel noted " Buy nice or buy twice " or words to that effect.Well done Stefan,i'm recommending you for a Knighthood.Arise Sir Stefan,i can hear it now.
Just checked on Amazon stand, second tier holder and the tray for £243 - that's fantastic so thanks again - and it will match the piano bench.
Found same on Thomann for £195,free shipping.
Very helpful, thank you very much!
What I like with this key stand, is also the legs and knees room underneath, a thing that conventional X stands don't provide...
Yeah, that's what I've been looking for too. The other problem with X stands is the posts get farther apart as you lower it. The one I have (Gravity X-Stand) has a second tier option but I can't use it because it has a max width that forces me to raise the base stand much higher than I want. I think I'm sold on this one. Everything K&M makes is built like a tank and has amazing expandability.
Wow, great coverage of a well-designed stand.
Thank you!
Awesome video as per usual! Do you think you'll be making a video at some point going into detail about your recording studio, equipment and how you record songs etc? Loving the content!
Great video
You can actually modify the stackers so piano/keyboards are closer together, particularly useful if you read sheet music, by taking a few inches off the part of the stacker that fits into the bracket. I took about 5 inches off mine and piano and keyboard are as close as a two manual organ.
You can still raise the heigh with the holes that are left.
At the minimum height the hinges don’t work- you don’t really need them, if you do -just drill a few holes.
The hinges still work if you prefer stackers to be higher with a tilt.
I have a Roland RD 2000 on the bottom tier, and a Genos on the top. It’s one of the best setups I have ever had and solid as a rock, with no tilt.
Allready Have a roland H stand, but i will get this for sure, amazing setup for NI machine + jam and a keyboard!
Thanks, man: this is the kind of modular product I needed but couldn't see anything quite like it from Google... until I saw your video.
Hey David! Glad I could help with this video!
Thanks Stefan - a very informative and honest review. I enjoyed it so much I bought the 18810 with the 18811 & 18822 stackers after seeing your review 😁👍🎹🎹🎹
Awesome! Have they arrived yet? If so, how are you liking them?
They are arriving tomorrow from Thomann as strangely enough they had the best deal on the 3 pieces I needed inc delivery. Normally I gloss over them as usually the price is prohibitive but they did a bundle comprising of the 18810 & 18811 together and they also had the 18822 in stock so with free carriage by UPS from Germany still work out to be a good price. I have never used Thomann before but their ordering was easy and they seem efficient so fingers crossed 🤞🤞 I will assemble the stand and post photos somewhere and also my experience of assembly. After watching your video I think it will be fine and as these are for my own “home studio” with a view to saving space I think they will be ideal for my 3 keyboards allowing me to use my other surfaces for other devices. Roll on tomorrow - can’t wait 😁👍🎹🎹🎹
Dope! Ah exciting stuff man! I've ordered from Thomann a couple of times to the UK and all has been well (not sure where you're based). You've probably received it by now, hope the setup has gone smoothly!
Stefan Guy like a dream Stefan. UPS delivered it at 11am this morning to my home in Rugby UK. It was exactly as you described in your review and is perfect. I built it with the two extra supports and it is great. Sturdy and well built and typically what I would expect from German engineering. Before I actually complete the job with my keyboards, I need to re-arrange my room but that’s part of the fun too. Will update you when I have completed it 😄👍🎹🎹🎹
Hahaha 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 excellent! Glad everything went smoothly and you’re happy with your purchase! Yeah i’m often excited to rearrange my room/studio too until i’ve taken everything apart, get tired and i’m like “what have i done!” Lol. And yep I put my trust in that German Engineering haha. 👊🏾
Great info, I'm looking for a stand for 2 keyboards, an MPC X, a mixer and a pair monitors. I think you may have solved my problem. Many thanks.
Good clean overview. Thanks.
Thanks Mark!
Great video. Do you know if K&M have any digital piano stand options that would keep it as low as 45 cm in height?
Your voice is nice to listen to. Thanks for the info.
Thanks man! Glad I could share!
omg it’s amazing to listen to
Loved your glass
Great video thanks man
sad bot thank you!
Just ordered mine, hopefully it lives up to the hype.
great tip, so important. i use the style but put a wood platform to make them table style, three tier! still looking for some way to get a camera and mic stand attached...also i like that vacuuming around the feet of that table would be easy. perfect.
Hey, great set up, where do you put the audio interface ?
Great setup, the stand with tray that your Maschine MK3 is on can it be tilted
beautiful
Are there any cheaper alternatives to this stand? Or something you can mount to an existing wooden desk? That functions similar to the stacker?
Hey mr Stefan I know this is off topic but can you do a video on hook ups/connections between komplete kontrol and maschine physical connectios sir thank you
Thank you Stefan. I should have come to visit you before I ordered my Spider with extra straight arms to make it a 3 stack. Especially for earthquakey countries like Japan, your selection seems the best. Keyboards stands even today do not consider a laptop PC as part of music instruments and that’s annoying.
Nice job.
K&M makes lifelong products... this modular workstation is brilliant! Thanks for putting in the time to produce a video demonstration 🙌
100% agree my friend. Thanks for checking out the vid and commenting 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
Stefan Guy You bet mate! We have NAMM coming in a couple weeks, so I’ll swing by their booth to check out what they have coming out TBD 🤘🏽
Nice review. I'm thinking of getting one and this was helpful. One question, in my research I have read many of the X style stands have screws to be inserted from the bottom into threaded inserts in the bottoms of many keyboards. I assume this unit does not have that, correct? Also, regarding that bolt that holds the two top supports to the rest of the table. will the bolt head cause the keyboard to rock back and forth as it sits atop the bolt head unless you use the rubber bumpers you mentioned?
Hey thanks for watching. In answer to your first question, there's no screws, correct.
In regards to your second question. That's a good question. If you're keyboard has its own feet like the Komplete Kontrol does then if they line up correctly you'll be fine. However if they don't line up you probably will get a bit of rocking. But the rubber bumpers are essential regardless as there is no other form of grip, so your keyboard WILL slide back and forth without them. But withl them your keyboard is extremely secure.
I have a very heavy Kawai ES 8 Stage Piano and a heavy Beringer Deepmind 12 on the second floor. A Akai MPC One reside on the Laptop Stand right to me. This is a great sturdy setup. I think one of the best keyboard stands in the world.
I have this, and love it
Great stand!
Can you make a video on mixing, pitching samples/chopping samples on reason? The samples I tried pitching kind of sound distorted, lacking clarity and idk just awful lol?? So I’d appreciate any tips! Love your videos :)
Thanks. I ordered a set up.
Awesome, hope it serves you well James!
This 18810 Omega is just awesome. Have bought it one month ago to support Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 keyboard (extension for Arturia BeatStep Pro is under consideration, too), be sure I don't regret this investment! ;)
Glad you're happy with your investment Dominique! I've just invested in a new attachment for it - an actually table top that attaches to the stand. You'll see It in my new videos soon!
@@stefanguy Thank you, Stefan, I'm curious to discover your current stand (including new attachment on it) soon. As extension, I'll plan 18811 black (pair of stacker) + 18819 controller plateau to host my new BeatStep Pro (the plateau is big, regardling size of this Arturia controller, however). Planned for Q2 2022 (money story, as usual). You've got a new suscriber, obviously.
Do you know if there a nice way of adding keyboard and mouse for a laptop? I see that the arms stick out a bit under the keyboard, and I thought it could be nice to have a pull out tray or something.
Do you think is it suitable to play keyboard on lowest level while standing? How much base height could be adjusted? Thank you!
Thanks for the info Stefan! I will check it out. Currently, I use a small computer desk. This stand would definitely meet my needs.
Blessings🙏
Andie Mar
Hey Andie, glad I could help man! Just updated the description with links to the items. You can also find customer reviews there also.
Stefan Guy Thanks🙏
no doubt rocks
🙌🏾
@Stefan, I have the stacker for a second keyboard but can you please make a quick video on how to make it TILT? I have tried adjusting the 3 screws but am concerned that they may snap/break. Cheers, Paul
Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Crikey, I haven't used mine in over a year because I moved and couldn't fit it in my new apartment. It's back at my family home. I'm sure it was just with the two screws at the back. I don't remember thinking it will snap though, I think they adjusted pretty easily. I do remember doing with my brother though to get them even. If you hit me up at support[at]stefanguy.com and send some pics I might be able to see if it's tilted as far as it can go already.
My keyboard depth is 12” which seems to be a bit lower than 13” depth of the top supporting arms. How can I fit the keyboard without wobbling if I can firmly sit on both top and bottom pads of the top arm?
Can the 18820 hold an 88 key keyboard?
Interesting! It's so important to make the home studio comfortable workwise. Maybe your next clip vill concern, how to make the room acceptable acoustic. :)
Hey Jan, I most definitely agree! I've been planning on doing an acoustics video for a while actually. Just haven't gotten around to it yet!
Good info , is there a way to tilt the bottom keyboard also , or only the top keyboard? thanks
Thanks man! The bottom keyboard can’t tilt unfortunately no. But second and third can.
Hello! The depth of my synthesizer is 30 cm. And the depth of this wonderful rack is 35 cm. I wonder if your opinion is suitable for such a rack?
is 2020 and I believe still is the best one right?
Looks like a great product, but now it seems like there are lots of alternatives at a better price point. The shelf piece is about $75 for a piece cut metal, seemed kinda high.
Great presentation, precise clear enunciation. You had all the details I was looking for. However, your audio is horrible. A smart guy like you can make it perfect.
I have one of these and had problems when I use the third tier. The sheet music stand doesn't go high enough to clear the third tier. Since the micboomusesthe same length rod, same problem. I haven't tried the laptop stand because it mounts at a fixed45 degree angle and there's no way of telling if that will work I my limited space or possibly be awkward for my physical work flow. 360 rotation would be my preference. Great idea, 80% good implementation. Not sure what they were thinking. Maybe the third tier was added as an afterthought after tooling for all the acceroies was paid for.
P.S. I love it as a 2 tier stand.
That's a game changer I would get 2 for home and stage
Hey bro, sorry for the late reply man. I went off the grid! Most def man, I wish I had this stand at the previous church I was playing at!
Question, can you adjust the height of the stand while the keyboard stands on it or is it too heavy/unpractical to do so?
It may be possible with two people. As both sides would have to be done simultaneously. But I probably wouldn’t attempt to do so.
Hi Stefan!
I’m a beginner and I want to buy studio speakers:
I thought about the jbl lsr 305 and about the PreSonus eris e4.5.
I think the jbl sounds better and they are perfect for my studio, but I want to know what do you think.
REALY LIKE YOUR VIDEOS 👍🏾
Hey man! I'll be honest I haven't listened to any of those speakers but definitely go with the one that fits your studio set up best! And thanks man!
Thanks man👍🏾
Hey Mr steph can you tell me the site you said before for use to upload our music? i forgot it and cannot remember the video you said it in.
Is that music to sell? If so it’s distrokid :)
@@stefanguy awesome thank you
Bu modelin ismi nedir ¿
Is the table you added on top from a different vendor? I don’t see it at the KM site or amazon.
Hey Todd it’s all from K&M search 18819 Controller keyboard tray on their site.
I’ve added all the links in the description now :)
This stand looks great and ideally I would get that, but it is rather expensive. I think it costs more than some MIDI controllers. It would be nice if it had an extension part that could fit a table top so that that could become a studio desk with the keyboard part built into it.
Some midi controllers cost £10. I don't understand?
Sure, but a NI SmkII series starts at € 599. So erm.
Is this stand easy to setup and taken down? Is it heavy? Wondering because I need a sturdy stand for live performance
It’s a quite the bit slower to set up than other stands but it’s extremely sturdy. It has a good weight in my opinion. Solid. It you go on sweetwater.com syou can see loads of reviews from people that gig with it.
a couple comments about objective reviews: 1. if you get the item for free in agreement to review it, it slants your opinion of it, it is obvious in this video. 2. there are no comparisons to other models on the market based on value for the money, which is the #1 driving factor for most home studios. 3. There were no cons about this product, the relatively high price tag should have been mentioned.
You should link other sources instead of Amazon or in addition to Amazon if you must include them I don't want to buy from Amazon but I appreciate your review
I like really like the stand. I hate the site i can’t even see how much it is and how to order it. Maybe because i lookin on the phone and not on a computer. When you search for a online dealer can’t see a price and how to order and when try to find a dealer near you nothing pops up. IDK nice stand i want one. There site is kinda confusing
Hey Ad Wes. Where are you located? Thomann is a German store that sells all the pieces. They have free shipping for orders over €149 euros. €10 Euros for anything below that. €30 Euros if you’re in the Euros regardless of how much you spend. If you’re in the US zZounds sells the base but not all the accessories. I’m going to do some more research and put the links in the description below. That’s the link they asked me to include but i totally get where you’re coming from!
Hey man I’ve just added links to the description where you can find prices and customer reviews!
Stefan Guy yeah I’m in Detroit, Michigan 🤣 thanks for the link
Bumboclaaaat! The links my friend, the links ;) they are missing 🙌🏾
Oh wow 😂 thanks man. Just updated the description lol
Nice review Stefan. In fact I spoke to K&M last week and the agent pointed me to this video! I have now purchased the Omega Pro stand plus a pair of stackers ;-)
Awesome! Hope you enjoy your purchase brother! Glad I could share this video with you and thanks for the positive feedback!
@@stefanguy The stand is amazing and so was your video.
If you speak to the agent again, let him know that the 3rd level is not shown on the table product page along with the other accessories shown in the photo.
@@johne1599 I have emailed the agent a few times since my last post with some additional questions, but I have not received any replies whatsoever as yet?
@@monsterjazzlicks After pricing out the table and all the separate parts, you tell me the agent doesn't answer your post purchase questions?!?! What?!!! You should be getting Apple and Mercedes-Benz kind of Service and Support. Lol
I see that 🔥 J Cole album in the background
Ariel 👍🏼
Haha 🔥 - Had it bumping whilst I was shooting. Had to keep it on the screen for continuity lol
I bought a maschine mk3 a few weeks ago, really enjoying it so far. Hope to see more maschine beat making videos in the future 🙌
Dope! Are you using it with the software or inside a DAW?
wow i did not know it could get a third level. Nice - have to check this
hey man, invest in oeksound spiff
imma need you to put a d-esser on your voice recordings lol
I’m using iZotope RX7 now so my voice recordings sound a lot better in the newer videos 👌🏾
The stand is awesome but a little expensive compared to other sturdy and with the same lifetime expectations. $210 +tax just for the basic stand $160+tax just for the 2nd tier. Thats already nearly $400 just for a basic stand with second tier. You can get something similar for only half of that or less. I just got a nice , very versatile expandable and sturdy little stand for just $ 60 on amazon and the second tier cost almost the same.
Hi I agree with you, what's is the name of the stand you bought I would like to check it out by doing a google search
Hi how much this stand cost
Hey Laverne it all depends on what pieces you get but the two i most recommend is 18810 Omega Table Stand: amzn.to/2VQHlM2
18811 Stacker: amzn.to/2Vmxb6y
Where are you based?
How did I just find this.
I have owned this stand since July 2015 and it is fantastic and value for your money. I don't trust those X stands !
Preach! Best stand i’ve owned! And I share your sentiments in regards to those x stands lol
@@stefanguy OK ! you got me ! Subscribed ! lol. Great vid on how you learned piano/keys without formal lessons. Hope lot's of people understand that you don't have to be well off in todays world to pursue an interest. An internet connection will do, and so many lovely people give up their time freely here to help and give FREE tuition to anyone who wants to learn. Cheers to you Stefan.
Woah!!!!!!!! 💀
Thanks Stefan, just want I wanted…Dec
Sreat for studio a real pain for live gigging...heavy and awkward but very very strong. trade off
you didn't detail your setup enough, I want a setup like one I see at around 2:59
Would be nice if measurements were given in Imperial as well as metric.
I would get this if the feet weren’t so deep. My chair would probably keep bumping into them from where I sit
got me fuggged up spending 500-600 on just the stand....
Anyone having an Omega stand can confirm that a 88 keyboard does not wiggle on it?
Did K & M instruct you NOT to mention the price of these free units? Every review I have seen doesn't even mention price, which I find highly suspicious. As a review, how can you not factor in price for the quality? K & M don't even list the price of their own units on their website when you follow the links...
Hey Gurtana - No they did not ask me to not mention the price. I don’t mention prices in reviews as prices change, though once uploaded the video cannot be changed. Prices can also change without the author of the video (me) knowing - hence why I do not write the price in the description neither. It takes but only a few seconds to click a link to see the current price. There and then someone can see the price, along with a detailed description, frequently asked questions and reviews all in one place. And this information is constantly updated. This, in the long run is better for viewers, instead of posting information that may be true only for a moment. K&M do not sell their own products on their website but partner with stores globally, all of whom have their own prices. That’s why you’ll not find K&M’s prices on their own site. I appreciate that price vs quality is part of a review however I’m of the notion that value is subjective. Had I done the video again however, I would state that this stand is for professionals, that either gig on large tours or professional music makers i.e those that make a full time living from music. Or even churches. I wouldn’t recommend this stand to a hobbyist or someone that does music on the side.
Drinking game: every time he says "stand", chug down a shot. I'd be under the table after 1-2 minutes 😅
👀Hmm
Hahahaha
Hi sir I want your Juno g keyboard.please u r contact
Hey brother, i’ve sold my keyboard but it is the Juno Di... it is now discontinued but you should be able to find it second hand
Stand is expensive than my Arturia keyboard
Lol yeah it cost more than most stands. But if you earn a living from music then it’s well worth it in my opinion and the cost is quickly recouped and then some with a single job. You won’t need to buy another keyboard stand again as its quality is far superior to most. You’ll see this in the reviews also. And it’s a stand you can expand.
Good video and informative. I gave a thumbs up but, I have to say, I can't stand the way tutorial people finish their sentences. There's always this unnecessary rhythm/emphasis at the end of every sentence. It drives me nutz.
$210 bucks for that? Only industry that can charge boutique prices for a metal stand! FUCKING LEMMINGS ARE LINNING UP TO BUY IT!
I feel you on the price front, it is expensive for what it is. But when you compare it to other stands that range from $40-$100 you immediately see the quality difference. Also I wouldn’t call said people lining up lemmings. This stand is for people that make music for a living. If music is your full time job this is an investment that can be quickly recouped. i.e within one job. I always suggest using what you have until you can comfortably afford to upgrade. Said lemmings are probably in that position now so they are ok with spending $210. Apple just came out with a monitor stand that is $999 now that my friend is ridiculous lol.
