One of the biggest reasons of AA is to surrender your own thoughts and ideas to a power greater than you. The likely hood is stronger with staying sober than trying to stop on your own

For sure. We need to be willing to adopt a new North Star for our thoughts and mode of living that isn’t centered on self. In order to produce the psychic (or personality) change needed to stay sober and emotionally sober as well.

I've never done the twelve steps, i am very wary of it. I know its one of the steps, but i think giving it all to God, you dont need the other steps. But I have never tried, and it almost feels like defeat and accepting a program and feeling as a weak human being. Cuz I know I am strong and have overcame addiction on my own without.

also, being vulnerable upon others and hearing others stories is a big trigger for me.. ive been to many meetings and I can connect.

My experience has shown me that I have to unblock myself from allllllll the junk that keeps me from fully surrendering and giving it all and RELYING upon God. It’s one thing to believe in God, it’s another to rely on God. That’s what the 12 steps are for. Some people don’t need the steps to become unblocked but for the real deal alcoholic/addict who struggles with fear and ego (me) it’s a sure fire way to become more divinely aligned with God’s greater purpose and experience this life in a way that is God centered and not “me” centered. Wishing you all the best on your journey! With or without the steps. 😊❤️🪩
