You're cleaning the drawer but what about the heating element and the surrounding area? When you remove the drawer and turn the unit upside down, how do you clean that?
I would use neither. The small space in an air fryer may make your paper towel accidentally touch the heating element which could be a huge fire hazard. I’ve seen videos saying foil should only be wrapped around cold food as cooking with foil and when getting the foil hot you realise something I don’t remember what exactly into your food that’s not too good for you.

Make sure you have a damp slightly kitchen sponge that can help you wipe the grease. Then use another damp kitchen towel to go over it

What about the fan part as food debree and moisture all in the fan
To have less grease going down your drain, wipe down the excess bits and grease inside the basket
