Gotta be honest, I do like this budget air fryer, but I think i'll upgrade soon, any suggestions for what air fryer to get would be appreciated, cheers
Ingredients are above, recipe methods are here barrylewis.net/recipe/5-foods-that-are-better-in-an-air-fryer/
I have the tower, it has 3 slide in trays like a mini oven from tesco. I use it all the time for everything. You get a chicken rotisserie attachment with it to 👍
@@dacot27 Chicken attachment sounds awesome
I don't know much about the types you can get but considering what you do, I'd go for one with a lot os space/compartments. I remember you having to fry things separately, one after the other, for a single meal before.
@@Elwaves2925 Good call. Yeah it's something to showcase in a video too perhaps
That guac looks horrendous. Are there even any avocados in it?
I got an air fryer for my birthday last September and love it. I have used my oven twice in that time, as my air fryer does everything else. As a disabled person, my air fryer is so much easier and safer to use; even though my oven is one made for wheelchair users with the door opening to the side. I have a bunch of reusable silicon baskets to make clean up easier and to also make lifting the foods out easier. These are a lifesaver as I can throw them in the dishwasher and then the actual air fryer never needs cleaning.
Would love to make a video with you Barry about cooking as a disabled person, tips and tricks and gadgets. I do plan on doing one on my UA-cam channel, but I believe it’s something your viewers would find interesting for those who aren’t disabled (I get asked often how I manage to cook as a wheelie living alone) and helpful for those who do have disabilities.
Nice one Alex, we'll try to do it some day. What air fryer is it?
@@mrbarrylewis I have a Tower T17088 9L Dual Basket Vortx Air Fryer, I love the two drawers so I can cook two different dishes at the same time. Also the drawers are rectangular so easier to fit foods in I find compared to my parents who have a similar one to yours.
Let me know if you ever want to do a video collab!
That'll be very interesting not just for people with disabilities!
Id be interested in watching that!
Such a great idea.
I am also disabled and in a wheelchair, cooking and doing every day things can be very difficult.
These things definitely help ❤
We just got the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Dual Air Fryer. The thing I like most is that it has one drawer with a divider so you have the versatility to cook different meals for two people or say a whole chicken in one big drawer. 😊
Oh, and the silicone cooking baskets are a must! You can buy generic ones to fit that model quite easily. 😊
Not sure what’s available this season but our bargain Aldi air fryer has been an integral part of our daily lives. It looks more like a mini oven with a drop down door. It also has a rotisserie and pizza stone attachment!
The air fryer won me over, too! I appreciate these easy but tempting recipes!
Cheers Lisa
Try a baked camembert! Just cut a cross in the top, drizzle a bit of honey and sprinkle with rosemary, put in air fryer for 10 minutes, ready!
I always make up a massive batch of taco seasoning and just put it into an empty herb or spice jar so I don’t have to keep making it up (and it means I avoid buying pre-made from shop)..great upload as usual Barry👍💕
Caved in to the air fryer fad a year ago and honestly, it's THE most used thing in our kitchen!
We got the Ninja dual (AF400) which is amazing and does NOT require any pre-heat (None of the Ninja ones do)
I'd love to see you explore instant pots. with proper preparation and execution you can cook virtually anything in them in less than half the time.
The hard part is learning all those techniques and finding which work best for you!
1am in Sydney, Australia. I can’t sleep and see Barry’s uploaded. Winning!
Hello fellow Aussie Insomniac 😊🇦🇺 👋
Hello fellow Sydney people!
Howdy Australia!
Yay!!!! The only downfall to watching this glorious content is now I’ve got the munchies at 1am 😂
Your Boss isnt winning
Cosori Dual Blaze is a hell of an aur fryer! From what I know it's the only one that hast two burners, at the top and the bottom, so you don't have to flip the food while cooking, And it's spacious enough to cook whole chicken of an impressive size in it
I love how enthusiastic you are about cooking after all the years! But seriously get an instant pot! That appliance has changed my life of cooking!!
Ninja ones are good I have one of the multi cookers with the Air Crisp fryer I am saving up for the two drawers. I Also have a Cosori multi cooker one too.
Agreed! I had my ninja foodi imported from the US, as it wasn't available for EU when I got it🙈 but I absolutely love it. Ninja has a wide variety of options too. I got the 13 in one with the built in thermometer, SP351. My sister has the Phillips airfryer which is very popular in the Netherlands and it's a good machine, but the Ninja is way more versatile ❤
I think the air fryer is the best newer kitchen appliance going. I researched many air fryers before my purchase and my recommendation is the brand “Cosori”. It has a square basket that holds more food and works great. I have been using it for years. Also have gifted several. They are around $100 US on Amazon and worth every penny.
watch the handles, i find they fail after a while but good machine :)
ive been using air fryers for about 2 decades now and still love it.
Some brilliant ideas for the Air fryer & thanks for sharing Barry 😋👍🌮🥖🧄🧈🍣
Saved the best for last? Sorry, but you had me at garlic-bread. So simple, yet so delicious. The easier the better!
you can get airfryer liners - basically massive muffin forms - to keep it cleanish when cooking without the insert
Yeah, I love the liners both for clean up and preserving the sauces need for certain dishes.
I'm going to be trying the cauliflower bites today!!! yum!!!
Best thing I got was an airfryer. So easy to use and makes yummy meals.
I swear by my Instant Pots and yes I said pots. I have two and use them regularly to feed my large family. I use mine for so many things Berry you should definitely do that!
Will be trying these recipes on my air fryer
They all sound yummy and I am going to try them. Thanks
This is perfect. I just invested in a nicer air fryer to save energy and less heat in the house for summer. Been trying different things on different modes. Thanks!!! Love this.
No worries, I have a pretty cool video with a pressure cooker coming up next week
@@mrbarrylewis can’t wait for that because I own an insta pot and don’t use it as much as I thought I would. I have made a few things and everything was really delicious. The video may motivate me to do more. Thanks
Didnt realise its perfect for enchiladas! Air Fryers been the way to go for solo living. Also does an amazing Cheese Toastie 😋
I've had an instant pot in my closet the longest and finally got around to using it. Went great, and I'd love to get some more ideas!
I have a nice air fryer that gets used for everything. I absolutely love it!
What one is it?
@@mrbarrylewis it’s made by Instant, the people that make the instant pot.
I almost always use the air fryer now too. Cooks foods such as chicken so much better.
Get a Cosori air fryer I love mine it is the best and works amazing! Worth the money!!!! So many options 5 minute preheat!
I agree, love my Cosori!
We have an instant pot that is also an air fryer! It's called a Duo Crisp I believe, and we absolutely love it. Really enjoyed this video, feels like Barry back to his roots!
It's great for a single person or couple, not great for a family with children though - the air fryer lid is heavy and not as safe as a drawer.
Super great!! Thanks for these recipes ❤
I'm newer to an air fryer and still not sure how and what to cook in it 😂
Your videos help so much and bring such joy!
Some of the best parts of my day ❤
Many blessings to you all ❤
This was a fantastic pitch. Happy for him!
So helpful.
The cauliflower bites look good, I'm not sure enchiladas are better in the air fryer but I do think some things are. Anything like onion rings, spring rolls etc from a frozen packet are better because they don't have soggy spots like oven baked ones do. And those part baked bread rolls are great because you can just put them straight in, no faff of preheating and quicker than the oven. I do drop the temperature to about 160C so the middle gets heated thoroughly before the outside gets overdone
I love how everything turned out it would make a nice date night meal
As for a new air fryer I've owned a ninja foodie air fryer for years & it'll be better than your budget buy too
Love my air fryer. I've had it about 18 months and turned on my main over precisely once since i've owned it to a cook a pizza that was too large for the fryer.
I really really enjoyed you post..... your recipes are easy and awsome....
I have the Cosori TurboBlaze. It’s brilliant.
I'm pretty sure you could put a bowl or ramekin in the drawer to reduce the sauce without having to wash the drawer afterwards.
Here in this area of America, we call your Enchiladas, smothered burritos.
Taco Bell had the same recipe and called it The Enchirito. They bring it back every now and then. It also is basically the same recipe. Great use of your fryer! I love watching your videos! Especially when your wife is with you, her expressions and quite comments are epic to me!❤
The thing about air fryers is it really doesn't matter what brand of size you get, they're all doing the same thing. What it really boils down to is how big you need it for your portions you're cooking and how much you want to spend.
There are definitely quality differences between brands. Yeah, they all do the same thing, but they’re not all made the same.
Yes, I definitely appreciate the air fryer recipes. I'm still learning the limits of mine.
I bought one of the twin drawer Ninja ones as while there are 3 of us I'm the youngster at 50 so being able to do 2 things at once is better than having a larger capacity. Also the silicon liners are readily available and well worth using as you just pop them out to clean rather than needing to do the whole drawer all the time :)
Great vid. Instant Pot is awesome so can definitely recommend trying that. It can do entry level sous vide and slow cook as well.
The burritos in the air fryer is a great idea 🎉❤
I use a ninja foodi toaster oven/air fryer and I absolutely love it. Highly recommend!!!
We have a GoWise 7qt. It has a grill, reheat, bake, air fry, roast, and dehydrate setting. Best thing I've every purchased, ever. We use it every day. I even bake canned cinnamon rolls and biscuits in it and they are Amazing!
I LOVE pressure cookers. They cook everything soooo fast, even Fr frozen.
Id love to see an instant pot video. I've made bone broth in mine and it came put nicer than the stove top version and took a fraction of the time but thats all so some inspiration would be great.
You might be in luck there ;)
I use my pressure cooker as a rice cooker. Boring I know but I no longer buy expensive boil in the bag rice. I also use it to make mash but not much else atm as I’m also stuck for ideas.
Oh no you have made me feel hungry now hahaha they all look great and i am surprised with some of the ideas. Thank you.
I have the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer with ClearCook Window and its great! I love it so much I bought my mom and gran each one.
That's my wishlist item!
@@YaaLFH Get the one without the Odour Erase, you need to change the filters a lot more often than I expected.
@@killerbye1985Thanks, that's very useful to know!
I was not sure if I'd use an air fryer so first I bought ha half liter basket model. it's a little bigger than an American football size. I was so in love with it that I bought the bestest ever possible: Philips HD9880/95 (also 7000 series XXL) and I'm in heaven. Wish everybody experienced that model because it's nothing like you'd buy from a budget supermarket.
My waffle stuffer has just arrived from Amazon U.K. and I am loving it. I can see you doing all sorts in one of those. The American version has a brilliant grip handle. I got mine out with a wooden spatula and it was perfect.
I love my Instant Pot. I've made yogurt, cheesecakes, brownies, used it to raise my bread dough , stews, soups and broth oh and veggies. I have 2-8quart (incase one dies on me) and a 3 quart which I do my veggies and rice in. I'm keeping your air fryer ideas for later.
I have my Ninja multicooker now for 4 years and it's still being used all the time. Mostly as airfryer but also for baking, pressure cooking and steaming. They may be a bit big at first but it's also replacing a lot of individual appliances.
Loves this video !
New cook book - surely “Barry fry’s”
I LOVE my Instant Pot Pro Crisp.
It replaced my Philips All-in-One and cheap-ass air fryer that I had, best purchase I ever made a couple of years ago. Use the thing all the time, cooks soups, corned silverside, etc... in a fraction of the time.
Yup, we use our instant pot (pressure cooker) and Air fryer for almost every meal, being able to do a pasta sauce in the instapot, then add noodles for a few more min for the kids dinners for a few days is such a time saver.
Phillips xl airfryer best one I have tested had it since 2016 and still going replaced my oven and deepfryer and always better results then my fan oven
We've got a Russel Hobbs airfryer, it's got a big one piece non-stick bowl that's diswasher safe. With heating element on the bottom adding more control, it's an oven, a frying pan and a slowcooker. Also comes with a metal griddle for grilling. I can just do a whole casserole in the bowl itself with little hassle. We've been happy with it, we needed to upgrade to a bigger one since our first one was a regular one with the pull out basket so this one has been perfect.
We love our ninja foodi flex basket air fryer 11 qt. It has one giant basket that can be divided into two, so you can have two different programs running, or one big one like a whole roast chicken. The basket, crisping racks, and divider are all dishwasher safe. We use it all the time.
Pressure Cooker is an old school pot you put on the stove with your ingredients and then seal it and it builds up pressure as it cooks, Instant Pot is an electric device you stick on the counter while it cooks.
As someone with two air fryers I cant wait to make all of these.
Me and my wife both love the air fryer, but love our instant pot more. I usually stuff 2 chuck roasts from Aldi in there with water(or cheap beer!) on the bottom, and just seasoned salt the whole thing and add yellow mustard/hot sauce. I have yet to have better pot roast, I leave it in for 1 hour 20 minutes to make sure it falls apart. 😁
Ninja all the way Barry, they have many options depending on what you want from an air fryer. I have also heard that the Cosori dual blaze is good too Love the videos!
I've tried several air fryers and my favourite by far are the ones that identical to a mini oven. I.e. there's 2 or 3 rows of wire racks to put food on. I use the Tower Xpress, the rotisserie function is fantastic if you can find a small enough chicken.
That Salmon looks stonkin! Digging out my air fryer!
I love an air fryer. Especially cooking a full roast chicken in it. Super crispy and juicy.
Those look so good, been a while since I made enchiladas, I'll have to give them a go
I have a Ninja, it’s amazing.
Aside chips, Jackets spuds are awesome. 10 mins in microwave, then 20 minutes on roast in the Ninja (or 20 mins, turn and a further 20 mins all in the ninja)
Thanks for these ideas 👍
I have the Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer which has a pressure cooking lid and an air fryer lid and it's brilliant,I also have another two Instant air fryers, the Instant Vortex Plus 5.7 Ltr with the clear front and the Instant Vortex Plus Versazone 8.5 Ltr which has a large drawer that you can put a separator in the middle and use it as two independent drawers with different times and temperatures, they are all amazing appliances and I wouldn't buy any other brand,my oven is now a storage unit for my air fryer accessories,a great video, thanks for the recipes
My wife and I got an unopened Instant Pot brand air fryer combo at a thrift store. It’s brilliant. It air “fries,” broils, bakes, and dehydrates, though I haven’t verified that last one. It’s shaped closer to a cube than the odd egg shape many are. I vote for a multi-function, whichever the brand.
My suggestion would be Hunter's Chicken; Take two chicken breasts, season with nice things (I like something garlicky, though could be anything knowing me!), wrap said chicken breasts in streaky bacon (as much or as little as you like), cook in the heated box of your choice until the bacon is looking tasty and the chicken itself is cooked through, slop on your favourite BBQ sauce (mine is Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Barbecue Sauce), add cheese on top of that, either grated or sliced, place back in 'til everything's all melty and bubbly, and serve, it's good... :D
This is how I make my hunters chicken I use BBQ seasoning as the dry rub/seasoning and stuff with cheese. Also saw one that stuffed with a cheesy sausage mixture and wrapped in bacon, so made that and that was also really nice.
never thought about doing this in the air fryer
I use the Instant Pot, it does Air Frying, Presser Cooking, Dehydrating, Slow Cooking. You should try it out
We've had an air fryer for a couple of years now. Our best discovery is how well sausages cook in there. And my top tip ... Use a meat thermometer.
"Instant Pot" is a brand name for an electric pressure cooker. There are several options, but that one earned it's reputation for being reliable and built like a tank.
Thanks for clarifying the name. So i can buy any Instapot and the features are almost the same as a pressure cooker?
Presto pressure canner and an instant pot!! Must haves!
Can't get the presto pressure canner in the UK 😢 can't import it either as it's not compatible with our 240v system either. I watch a few American homesteading channels that use it in addition to a stove top canner and they peaked my interest, was gutted after researching.
@@nixi-bixi hate to hear that. There have been several things I have seen that I can’t get here so I understand that feeling.
My husband loves the chicken wings and ribs I do in the Air fryer. The pressure pan (Instant Pot) is great too.
Dont know if its a brand in UK but bought a Phillips airfryer 5000 xxl and in love with that. You can even in my model use your phone as a controller if you want!
I have a prosenic that I can control from my phone. It’s the only reason I got it over other brands. It’s the best feature about it, it’s also got some recipes but don’y think I’ve followed any yet as I tend to google recipes.
Ninja Speedi, it been a massive asset to our kitchen and not just an air fryer it does way more and a steam/ air fry chicken in 40 minuets.
Hi, I think that you really need to think what you want the air fryer for. I have three. A 12 litre cosori oven, this can give you a much bigger area than the basket type and bonus, you only need to wash the trays you used a quick wipe inside with a damp cloth. I also have a 24 litre oven, this does whole meals, for my family of three, sometimes 4, theres loads of them on amazon and I have a ninja speedy, which do whole meals for up to 4 meals, this a basket type and requires a tad more washing up. It does, the carb, veg and protein in around 20 mins, set it and walk away.
Loving your content!
Philips Premium Airfryer XXL HD9867/90 is the one if you wish to upgrade. We are using it on a daily basis for very a long time now. It is big enough and for standard things it calculates cooking time based on food weight. On top of that it has a lot of additional accessories you could buy (grill, pizza kit, baking tray for cakes and etc.).
I'm hungry now 😂, have an air fryer since the last 2 and a half year will never miss it again. I bake my bread, lasagne, cake and almost never used my oven since
Hey Barry, Yes Instant Pot is basically a pressure cooker, just a smart one (Awesome bit of kit BTW, Very versatile.). Anything that needs to be cooked for hours like a brisket can be done in half the time. You can saute the meat in the instant pot before cooking to get some browning going as-well, no need for a separate pan. Instant pot as a brand also make air fryers. I bought a double basket one after i had bought an Instant Pot Pressure cooker and both machines are well used in our house. I liked the idea of a double basket being able to separate different things and cook at different temps and times and still have both come out at the same time, the only downside is the baskets are slightly smaller than the single basket options. Instant pot was the first "Smart pressure cooker" i think and do both machines. Cosori is a respected brand in the Air fryer market and also Ninja, And i think both do smart pressure cookers now as-well. Personally i am happy with the Instant Pot brand so far, which Ive had and used for a couple of years now. I can recommend you invest in a Smart Pressure cooker as-well, not just to you Barry but anyone who cooks.
I have basic aitrfyer. Cooked lots in it have BBQ space ribs yesterday was delicious
I finally broke down and got an air fryer to play with. I bought thr emeril lagasse wvery day 360. It was 149$ on amazon about a year ago. It can be an oven or air fryer. It has elements and a fan in it, and various positions for the over grate. I love it, it even has a rotisserie and spit included.
Ninja do some good products, I've got a few in my kitchen, haven't used my oven in years. P.S love your channel I have cooked a few of your recipes, will be trying some of these Air fryer recipes.
The brand I have is Ninja Foodie it also bakes, pressure cooker and many other features including the air fryer. Parts like the inner bowl or wire racks can be purchased on Amazon at reasonable prices. They have release a double air fryer now but I'm happy with my original model which is awesome.
Oh those Enchiladas looked good! I have to try something like this at some point 8D
A few months back, I did a prime rib in an air fryer. Omg, it came out soooo good.
Damn sounds good
@@mrbarrylewis you should try it, I think you would make it even more marvelous lol. Also, try shrimp if you can... I'm kinda afraid to do it lol
This seems like sacrilege somehow but it might be worth trying anyway xD
I jumped on the Air Fryer bandwagon several years ago with an Instant Pot Vortex Plus. Although mine works great, I don't necessarily recommend one, as I think the company may not be great. I do recommend an oven shaped (square) air fryer, as it fits more neatly on counter. I love it for cooking hot dogs and sausages quickly the way I like: I like them getting little burnt dots on the outside. I've made fried chicken in it a few times, but (because I used a rather dry coating) it made a huge mess, with the air blowing all the coating everywhere. We got it to eat healthier, but it really just allowed us to make slightly better versions of less healthy foods lol. Like, I never ate frozen chicken tenders, fries, or all those premade appetizers before I got one. I think my husband uses it more than the microwave.
I love my Instant Pot Duo bought many many years ago. It is so easy to use, you can brown your meat in it before slow/pressure cooking, you can go from dried beans to bean soup in about 45 minutes, you can make great soups/potatoes/ribs in it. Mine also does yogurt, but I've never tried. I even cook some types of pasta in it - rotini, elbow macaroni, ziti - in the sauce or soup.
I don't know if Ninja ships to the UK but I love my ninja air frier and instant pot pressure cooker! Thank you!
One that will give rotisserie function, hysapientia which I have is so versatile, you can do anything, also instant pot which gives you the cooking meat without losing moisture, it makes great stir fry and really good mixed rice recipes in alot of the time 3 x as fast, and less washing up bonus hope this help with your choice.🤗
I've got the Instant Vortex plus airfryer....it continously makes me look better than I actually am in the kitchen
I took the plunge couple of months back and bought the Ninja Foodi 15 in 1 smart lid. It's changed the way i cook. It does the lot from pressure cook to air fry to steam cook. I even make my own bread in it. Plus it has a probe so any meat you cook will only cook to the temperature you tell it!
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this already. But I seriously recommend using ramekins for various recipes. Especially for a sauce. But they're also great for making eggs in the airfryer.
If you have an Instant Pot, they make an air fryer lid! It's perfect! It turns your Instant Pot into a feature rich air fryer and means you don't need to house an entire other device in your kitchen, just a chunky lid with power cord! Check it out if you can. I adore mine!
The Ninja Foodi is the one to get. Not just an air fryer, there's 9 different cooking methods in one machine, one of which being a pressure cooker.
I have the Ninja toaster oven/air fryer. I have a small kitchen, so I opted for the fold-up model and I love it! It even opens on the bottom for easy cleaning. They make a taller version, which fits whole chickens. I’m in the US, so I’m not sure which models you’ll have available.
i have gone through 3 corsori air fryers, they are good but i now have the dual tray ninja and find the build quality way better
Love my air fryer so much and use it nearly every day. You should def get a pressure cooker. I have an Instant Pot which is just a brand of pressure cooker.
When you get a new air fryer don't get one you have to preheat. I got Innsky 8QT Air Fryer Oven with 2 Baskets and use it daily. Can fit a whole chicken in one basket. It sync so both baskets done at same time.
Instead of using tongs, I grab a length of aluminium foil, 2cm folds a long its longest edge to make a long strip. Place in the bottom of the air fryer and extend up the sides. Place the dish/tray over it and now have handles to pull the tray out.
