I don't have a PS4 and I haven't played Ghost of Tsushima, but you managed to introduce the characters so well that the conclusion was perfectly clear and understandable and the video was just very well made in general. Also, you seem like a nice guy! Thank you for the time and energy put into this. I know you have been working on this for a long time and I think it was worth it.
An absolutely beautiful video with amazing narration! You managed to explain the story and its important characters in such a small timeframe but still give out all the information needed! I haven’t seen anything of this game but still feel like I understood everything. The connections you made with the game and Avatar TLAB fit in extremely well together. I’m thankful to Sid for showing me this channel and will most definitely sub and stay for more content! Thank you for a fantastic video and bringing me some happiness on this dull day.
I try my best to make videos that are thorough enough for those who haven’t played the games without over explaining it for those who have played them. Glad it sounds like I succeeded with this one, thank you!
Wait wait wait. Yuna maybe realized Jin had something unique about him, but she didn't remain on the island because of that. She was pursuaded by Jin and Shimura to help just a little more, and when (SPOILERS) her brother died, she didn't have any reason to go offshore. She remained kind of like a last choice, not because of compassion, although she shows it more than enough afterwards.
I’d argue that after her brother died, she had more incentive to leave than before. There’s nothing from her old life tying her to Tsushima anymore. In one of her last conversations with Jin, she even suggests they find a small boat and sail somewhere quiet and ignore the war. But that’s something the old Yuna would have wanted, and imo it’s only because of Jin’s influence that she joins in the fight to save Tsushima. She could have left at any point, there are several other characters that catch a boat to the mainland at some point. But she chooses to stay, even if she doesn’t outright say what her reasoning is.
@@MegaBiteGames the quality of this video is so good, the editing the way its written. very curious to see where this channel goes, I hope this works out for you!
Nice video! Have not played the game, but love watching stuff about it. Really enjoyed your take. I particularly liked the point about ending with a choice complicating the narrative of a possible sequel. As someone who plays and loves all the Elder Scrolls games, it's always odd when certain quest lines have "canon" endings that are revealed in the sequel (civil war questline in Skyrim, for instance...I assume they'll have to choose a side in ES6...). Keep up the videos, and Roll Tide!
Choices in games really are just often ruined due to the constant need for sequels. If I could turn my brain off and not think about that, maybe I could enjoy them more. But there has to be some knowledge that the devs plan to account for multiple choices. In a game like Mass Effect, choice works because you have some reasonable expectation that they’ll be consistent and acknowledged. And unfortunately there’s just no reason to expect that in GoT2.
Beautiful ending, Leaves from the Vine rips a tear out every time, and I fully agree with the two-choice ending being a copout. GoT wasn't even about choices the whole game, they just threw it in there to spice things up towards the end. I would mention that the Duality of Jin would have benefitted in some ways from a karma system, like Sucker Punch did in inFamous. The game has lots of these loose ends, where the starting concepts and themes are very cool and on point, but they fail to explore them to their fullest potential. Btw, I enjoyed the heck out of the final battle, I can't express enough how much I love the idea of confronting your past, your experience, everything that has led you to that point, in Jin's case being his uncle. It's tragic, really, and I love to see characters put in these situations. And being able to choose between 2 endings is...kinda real. In some way. Altough I fully endorse your lesson: always find the middle ground, the balance. Maybe you can't everytime, but GoT would've given a gosh darn good lesson if it managed to make an ending that merged the other two. I know I wrote a lot, maybe I'm sorry, maybe I'm not XD. Good video overall, tbh I enjoyed your Andromeda more, it's one of my favourites on UA-cam, but I don't mind at all just listening to your opinions and views, it's a delight really to consume such content. P.S. Great thumbanail!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I agree that having you make a choice at the end came out of nowhere! It might have been okay if the game was about making choices between ideologies but it’s literally the only decision they let you make. And you hit the nail on the head with the karma system. Honestly, it seems like they must have had a karma system planned or implemented at some point and then they scrapped it. It just seems like the gameplay and story is built around interacting with that, but then there’s no system to enforce it. All in all I loved the game but they for sure made some strange design decisions along the way. Glad you enjoyed it! (P.S. I like the Mass Effect video more too)
Please don’t stop making these videos. They’re outstandingly great through and through
Welp

Great video. I love the way you revealed the similar themes and story lines and how they intersected with our own experiences.
