I loved how viable some of the more common weapons could be, but by the same token legendary weapons felt a bit too common and I usually had more legendaries than I knew what to do with and they all decimated everything for quite a few levels above their level. I like finding legendaries, but they began to feel less and less special. I still really like legendaries being common enough for normal enemies to drop them or normal loot crates to have them. Just not as much as they do. Or maybe I’ve just been really lucky in my play-through.

I play games for game play and variety in content. BL2 and BL3 offer that in spades I don't care for stories in looter shooters

Mayhem 11 was honestly good enough for end game for me. It gives you the good guns without the bullshit modifiers. Edit: realized I forgot to mention that M11 was m10 difficulty just with 50% less loot and no modifiers. Enemy dmg/hp stays same as m10

as someone who loves all of the games in the series including 3, I didnt like how Borderlands was flanderized from the first one. speaking just from the tone and not so much the gameplay of course, the gameplay has evolved for the better, but It used to feel grim and nihilistic before they injected a lot of "lol xd" humor since the 2nd game, and doubled down on it since then. Like, Tiny Tina would be so out of place in the first game imo, it takes itself a little more serious and the jokes were more subtle throwaways than ridiculous things being shouted. Characters like Scooter or the psychos talking about poop train were contrasted against everyone else and made the whole game feel even more cold and apocalyptic/anarchic, but now every character has to be a Scooter. It's like how VaultBoy in Fallout used to be satirical, but Bethesda turned it into exactly what it was made to satirize. Maya being decapitated in 3 would have the opposite effect of Tina, it seemed like something that would have belonged in the first game but doesn't match the tone of 3, the first game was more grounded and gritty.

That comment makes no sense. Why go out of your way to exclude men who had the same things happen to them? It makes no sense.

Honestly, i love playing Borderlands 3 but after i installed the instant dialogue skip mod i finally felt how much runtime was taken by npcs speaking i dont care about. I just wish there was a mod where i can down ava on command aswell for true quality of life perfection

I'm so tired of the ________ explained type youtube videos, where all they do is provide a baseline recap and some obvious comparisons. We need more of this. Motivated subjective analysis with a point. At one point you describe something you are about to say as "only subjective" but I believe that subjective opinions are the only opinions truly worth having, and sharing. I love seeing what you obviously got out of this game, how it is similar or different to my own experience. I would totally watch a 4 hour video of you breaking down Borderlands Pre Sequel, describing all the parts that made it work for you. It is my favorite installation to date. Your video has inspired some thought in me on why I even like the Borderlands games to begin with. I love the atmosphere of this truly broken world full of weird people battling larger than life enemies and finding nonsensical solutions to even more nonsensical problems. Borderlands 2 had this immaculate underdog revolutionary vibe, with Handsome Jack and Hyperion holding ultimate power and Sanctuary with the Crimson Raiders holding on by just a thread. Especially the insanely long final assault on Hyperion grounds that felt like it would never end, or the constant snide comments from Jack. Borderlans Pre Sequel had an intricate political intrigue of how conquering a new world would play out. With military factions, different settlers and colonists, corporations battling over the abundant resources, all the while outlining how and why Hyperion ultimately gained the upper hand. Borderlands 3 was an epic grandious adventure across the universe where you encounter all these different worlds and (mostly implied) cultures battling truly weird creatures and characters. These aren't the lowly bandits from pandora anymore. They are now a space faring squad of legends. Love your video. Also your voice (not really your voice, but your intonation kind of) and your humor reminds me of Joseph Anderson. You also already have his upload schedule down ^^

Hard disagree with mayhem being impossible with the gun damage nerf. Mozes iron bear nuke? Midas cannon? FLAK attack (fire bird)? Like come on man. You tried EVERY character? Thats three of the four i just named that can do that mayhem challenge EASILY. Especially moze. Such a broken character.

i played a ton of BL2 and loved it (mainly commando and siren) but i was obsessed with 3 and played basically only siren cuz it was perfect for me

if you make a build around damage and my zanes clone use a rpg it is pretty good for doing nothing but watch boss get murdered

The only other things I noticed that’s as really weird about the game was how they managed to create the ugliest faced characters I’ve ever seen and that so many of them looked the same. Older Tina, tyreen, and Ava all have this weird block headed look and it makes me wonder who was in charge of the creation of these characters heads

Gameplay is very good, guns could use work I think. Story has made me not replay the story once. After the game i just couldnt drag myself through the tedious and boring story. Bl3 is definitely not the best. Id rather play borderlands 1 personal. The amount of legendaries you get makes them boring. I prefered farming for certain guns.

The funny thing about the bl2 side quests was that more often than not the quests with blue weapons as opposed to purple weapon rewards were usually better because that’s how you’d get weapons with flavor text like the heartbreaker for example

Just 3 min in and you're just wrong... Borderlands has the best gameplay to date, but it has nothing else. Horrible story, horrible quest design (talk to Lilith), horrible "end game" content, horrible new systems like mayhem and these damn annointments. And don't get me started on the story I wish we never got. It's better than wonderlands tho. The addictive Gameplay is the only thing that does not make it the worst BL. BL2 is the best of the series overall, still.

Yep, when you go through Borderlands 2 story you see flawed characters, when you go through 3 - you see flawed writing...

I cant believe there was actually a genuine good faith critique of BL3 from a borderlands fan when the game dropped and I never saw it. I SEARCHED for people who felt the same way as me cause the game had flaws on launch sure but it felt really fun to play in spite of it. Its kinda sad the internet bandwagoned so hard and buried what I think is the best game in one of my favorite franchises. All you could find on launch is overly negative anger when the game dropped seeming to come from people who expected something different from borderlands

i mean every Borderlands game has had 1 Vault hunter with Companions, It started with Mordecai/Bloodwing (god rest her soul) then bl2 got Gaige/Deathtrap, TPS had Wilhelm/ Saint & Wolf, of course 4LAK and his companions for BL3 and yeah thats the first one the companion was out full time and now we got Tiny TIna's Wonderlands and half the Classes in that game have a full time Companion (my first time running through i did Spore Warden multi classed with Clawbringer for 2 companions on the field at once). its cool to see them on the field full time imo.

To be honest, Troy being able to Leech a sirens power shouldn't really be all that suprising...I mean he literally has the same siren powers as Tyreen does, and we've seen her be able to Leech Liliths own siren abilities, so really there shouldn't be any suprise that Troy could do it too Also I hope we get introduced to more Male sirens like Troy, I don't care about lore BS I just want a badass dude with siren powers I also gotta wonder...since Phase Leech is able to leech the organic matter down to the molecular level of an individual...could it be that Tyreen(and Troy to an extent) leeched the knowledge/memories of how to use the siren powers of Lilith and Maya? I know it's a stretch but it's the only possible explanation on how they've been able to use their abilities immediately(somehow) after acquiring them.

You can put 'just' in front of anything you love, to demean it, 'just' is a rubbish word. I don't like BL3 and loved BL2, but the 'just' accusation is inaccurate.

Is BL3 a bad game? Hardly. The problem is that after 4 main games and plenty of spin offs/dlc campaigns, you’d hope that there’d be more significant jumps in quality and BL3 just doesn’t show us that growth. Instead it improves heavily in some things but then bafflingly regresses in others. Tales from the borderlands and even parts of BL2 and the pre-sequel showed us that borderlands could be so much more than just jokes and gunplay. There’s just no excuse for the playable characters to still function how they did in 2009 on a narrative/flavor level or to have main villains that don’t leave that much of an impression or make a female supporting character that’s somehow more divisive than Tiny Tina

I'm fully convinced the humor in this game was Gearbox's attempt to appeal to and fit in with Gen Z and Millenials with the unfunny memes, jokes with flat punchlines, pop culture references that aren't even funny, etc

I recently got an OLED steam deck and replayed the entire borderlands franchise. 1 is obviously the most underbaked but the bones are still there and I love its approach to setting up the lore of the world. Pre sequel gets better every time I play it, 2 is still a classic, and 3 I find I grow more close to every time as well. The OLED screen really made everything pop and it was like I was playing it for the first time. For all of its flaws I still love 3. Excellent video btw can’t wait to rewatch it 20 times. Edit:I’m also a very big pre sequel enjoyer ❤️

Anyone who likes boss fights with immunity phases should never be listened too...ever.

it's especially disappointing when you realize just how easy it is to fix the player character's inaction during Maya's death scene. They could have EASILY made it so when you interact with the exit from the vault, your screen fades to black and the cutscene plays. Meaning that the player character was still in the vault while the cutscene played and entirely unaware of what was happening outside. It's such an insanely easy fix.

zane was my favorite because i could strategize when i used my drone and where i put my clone,. For example, during the first traunt fight i took out my drone for when fodder appeared, and when he started launching the chasing projectiles i used the clone to dodge the balls, it felt tight to press f to dodge the energy balls., regain my bearings, and switch weapons depending on how far away i was from traunt. this was incredibly common and fun. also during regular fights, i would seek out the strongest one, and popping out my clone to distract the fodder while i kill the big guy, and if the big guy is charging an attack, like a malliwan heavy, i would dodge with the teleport. also the instant up with the clone was handy when there wasn't any fodder left.

B2 is the best. B3 has its pros but it's not enough

This didnt age well in a time where "just more borderlands" is a huge complement where everything is turning ultra woke. Pretty sure we'd take just more doctor who over what thats become. Kill Killavolt is without question my favourite part of the game, and the only thing I will ever reinstall it for, because it was just so memorable to me. It's also important that Hyperion guns became my favourite while doing the quest, and I associated their amazing futuristic designs with the quest's amazing map, the fighting and the character of Moxxi :) For me, the entirety of BLands1 and stumbling upon this quest in BLands3 is the best the series has to offer, and no amount of empty depressing BL2 maps and can brainwash me out of this opinion.
