- In Episode 10 the power steering pump gets removed and rebuilt. I show you all the ins and outs of removal, parts and the repair. Some parts were hard to find, other come off the shelf at any good supplier. All in all it is an inexpensive repair, but it just takes some time. I hope you'll enjoy this episode! #Lexus #LS400 #1UZ-FE

Thank you, we have benefited a lot from you and I have two questions, the first is how were you able to untangle the steering axis from the loop on it despite the presence of a lock? And the other question where can I find the book of reform that you have
Hi, I did not remove the steering column from the steering rack. I only removed the power steering pump from the engine. The workshop manual was a gift from a friend. If you need any specific information, you can email me on arnold@carnold.nl
@@Carnold_YT Thank you for your interest and replying to me and I am happy to communicate with you
Any tips for getting that snap ring off of the shaft to change the bearing?
I have a kit if snap ring pliers, they were very cheap in fact. Every Home Depot / Princess Auto has them in store.
Do you have the number for the bearing? Can’t seem to find it and wanna order before I tear pump down
It is a 6303 2RS bearing, it is available from multiple manufacturers. 6303 is the number that defines the dimensions, 2RS means it is sealed from both sides. That is very important. Good luck with your repairs!
@@Carnold_YTTHANK YOU VERY MUCH
is a 98 ls400 close enough to this?
I think it has the exact same pump.
No it isn't. Non vvti motors have a different offset to the pulley wheel and a different mount and solenoid differences on the pump itself. However, when it comes to rebuilding the pump, it's basically the same process.
