Sorry wrong button ! Refurbish the axels who’s the best place to go for the lot ? Also parabolic springs ! It’s hard to know ..l still thanks so much for your videos they are a great help when you sit at an axel for the first time ! All the best Matt
There's a few different brands to choose from but the britpart kit seems to be the most comprehensive and affordable kit. I've used them a few times and I know people thats been running them for years and never had a problem. I got these kits from maltings off road there the best price at the moment and fast delivery. 👍 Craig
The springs I've used are from bearmach there standard springs. Parabolic springs can offer slightly more comfort but in my experience its only slightly better, if set up correctly with good bushes and shocks standard springs are fine lets face it what ever you fit its never going to ride like a rolls Royce. 👍
Hi ! ( sorry don’t know your name ) Really enjoyed this, and your videos ... I am new and just starting the restoration of a series 2 a 1970 swb station wagon , knackered but not a barn find ... I have spent a year researching generally and very much looking forward to your next video . As it is really hard to know what is a good supplier and which is not ! Britpart get stick yet I ordered a hard side window rebuild kit from eBay and it came from them ! ( although looked fine ) I need to refurbish t😋🎶
Hi, thanks for watching. I'll be putting a video on tomorrow regarding using britpart they get some stick but sometimes its unavoidable and there stuff isn't as bad as people say ive had good and bad from all different brands. Good look with the restoration and advice is always free just ask. Thanks again Craig.
Do you know what? I’ve just discovered that braces work brilliantly Never seemed to have any problems with my trousers when I was younger and I’m not fat now ( but tall!)but in the last few years my missus is always picking me up on showing me arse to the neighbours .braces have solved all that. 2” wide work a treat and I’m no longer getting my hips dirty pulling up my strides with filthy oily hands.
It's a pain my back is always cold 🥶 being tall its hard to find work clothes that fit properly to get a top long enough to cover my arse it needs to be massively to big and baggy also I look a total prat in overalls.
@@retro.restorations it's in the Land rover part number RTC9841CE parts book. Parts number FRC2928 are stage 109 V8 up to September 1980 and 109 V8 from October 1980. The inner seals seen on your stub axles part number FRC3099 Are for 88 and 109 from July to September 1980 only. I looked at my stub axles and there's no recess for the fitment of an oil seal at all. It's 1964

@@retro.restorations boiler suits cut me in half. Can’t ever find any long enough
Is that a V8? Those axle seals are for V8 only usually?
Sorry, they were on 1980 onwards to stop the front axle oil mixing with the bearings grease
I'm not sure where you get your info, but they're definitely the correct seals. There wasn't a v8 series Land Rover until the stage one came out.
