i think the friendzone with a guy is the BEST!!! This allows me to see if I like the guys personality and actually get to know the guy. It prevents me from setting expectations because I want to see if they make a great friend first before a great partner
My ex fell in love with me but he still cheated multiple times with his ex and online, then when I left he chased me for too many years starting a break up/make up cycle. I Wasted 7 years of my life giving him chances to “change” because I am a widow and had only been in love with my late husband and him. 2021 I decided no more!
I tried to be friends with the guy I’m attracted to. Maybe I didn’t have much patience. But I had to cut it because I felt the chemistry was only coming from my side and it wasn’t making me feel good.
Same. Mine was a year into it after finally cutting the cord. In hindsight it was more like I was around for an ego boost to them or something...while it felt good to see, communicate with them..they have to know you want more and its cruel to continue anything one sided
@Sarah Pratt I like how you explained that you are “packing up your emotions”...I’m at a place after three months where I could actually start with a fresh slate and give him what he wanted initially: the friendship. Since there are no more deeper feelings on my end. I sent him a message on IG but he hasn’t seen it yet. I may text him at some point but, I’m with you that it’s possible and the time lapse between is an excellent time to rediscover yourself and learn from the past to create a better future version of you (and him if that’s how it plays out). I’m finding Tolle’s teachings very helpful. His audiobooks are on here

There are only a view channels that have touched on this but, it’s a real psychological thing in relationships that I never knew had a name. I admire your maturity to know what to do before it gets worse. And its good to know there’s always help on here. Highly recommend searching the ‘avoid- attachment’ style and Tolle.

Bc a genuine friend won’t string you along and it allows you to get to know one another without any sort of pressure!! Try it...it really works. I always hated the idea of friends first, but man was I so wrong
When you’re friends, don’t worry about being in a relationship. Just be friends, platonic(mind you, some people have a real difficulty with platonic friendship). You’re bound to end up in a situationship if you start worrying about a relationship while trying to be friends with someone. Also, if you keep your friend lines clear, you’ll know even clearer if they’re interested.

Yea, it’s obvious when they aren’t interested and still hurts the longer it goes on so..I’d rather not put myself in that situation. I understand the value of friendship in a relationship, but I question the advice about the friendzone. Isn't being friends with someone in hopes that they'll change their mind a little manipulative? Isn't that what women get mad at guys for doing, with good reason? And yes, some guys do just want to be friends, but isn't this also what some say to string women along? How does this mesh with believing someone when they tell you who they are?

Trust is huge. My last relationship really tested my trust for him, and he failed. He went to his family and his female best friend about everything personal I ever told him. He lied and then he cheated. Then he lied again. I had to end it. All trust was gone.

Hi Ryan, this question is completely unrelated to this video but how do I cut off someone toxic and persistent? He keeps finding ways to come back to my life and do emotional abusive things. It’s really affecting my mental health. At one point it’s also hard to cut him off because I have that mental struggle to stay or to leave.
