That would definitely indicate that ligambi is just the acting boss. Granted he did a great job while Joey was locked up but Joey is a hell of a boss too. As long as Joey merlino has a heart beat is the boss of Philly. Say what you want about him but he has been the boss since the mid 90s and he has never been caught on wire taps saying anything really that incriminating. They’re basically damn near cousins because of how close Joey’s Dad and Nicky Scarfo were from the time they were kids. Outside of spoiled rich white perfect families, families fight. Joey has every right to hate on Phil and his actual uncle Lawrence for not just besmirching their name but because he couldn’t even see his dad die in prison while Phil is free enjoying life with his family. Outside of cowardly ratting if I was Phil’s best friend I prolly wouldn’t like Joey and if I was Joey’s friend I’d HATE Phil.

Crazy Phil is a bit of a mixed bag: on the one hand, he’s obviously a remorseless killer, and seems to try and rationalize and make excuses for it.
On the other hand, he doesn’t seem to be an attention whore like a lot of other ex-wiseguys. I feel like he appreciated his new lease on life, and wanted to not screw it up.
