You and your hair are so beautiful 😍! I love all of your videos and look forward to them every time you post! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
@@amaamissah5261Agree. Genetics plays a big part in how long you can grow your hair. They need to Google “the 3 phases of hair growth” or “the anagen phase”. The anagen phase determines how long your hair will grow or the longest time a strand of hair will stay on your head before it sheds. People of Asian descent usually have the longest anagen phase (7 or more years) in comparison to other races (3 - 5 yrs) which is why some Asians can grow hair past their knees. So NO!Not everyone can grow waist length hair . I’d bet no one will do the simple Google search because they don’t want to be wrong. At least Stop spreading false info and stop calling people lazy when they can’t control their genetics.🧬
This automated voice is cracking me up 🤣🤣🤣 I really enjoy that you're in the videos instead of just showing us PowerPoints with the automated voice. Gives it a personal touch.
I talked about this the other day on the other platform. One of the positions that I took was that people are quick to say genetics, but they like to use it as a blanket statement and when they do pinpoint a relative, it's usually a woman. We have never seen most men in our families with hair of any substantial length and therefore how can we accurately pinpoint whose genetics (mother, father, uncle, aunt, grandma, grandpa's) traits we are reflecting. Yes, it has to come from someone, but if you can't provide an accurate account as to your hair's potential you might as well focus on hair health.
You are so right about that!! My dad turned to my mom once and said this... look how much time i've been to the barber since we met, and yet your hair still at the same length lolol. There was truth to his comment, and I can genuinely say that it is as a result of POOR hair care practices why Mom's permed hair has never passed her shoulder. I live in Jamaica and I am 42. I did a big chop in 2017 and I never learnt how to care for my hair until 2020 when i started doing online research and seeing that natural hair care is a real thing!
@aniekaskaf1942 Your dad! 😅😅😅 But I can't say he's wrong. So many people take for granted that natural hair care practices for afro hair started to circulate 10 to 15 years ago. There are so many people who have come into their own in terms of mastering their hair during this time. Pretending as if we have always had this knowledge collectively and that the majority of us currently have this knowledge isn't being honest. If this were true, we wouldn't (have) need(ed) influencers to teach us. Also, people get caught up on this idea that long hair like Nica's is the end goal. For many of us getting our hair to armpit length far surpasses where we thought we could grow our hair. That, for many, is "long" hair and I don't believe that the majority of us cannot attain this length.
@@FromAto4zTaking good care of your hair will allow your hair to grow ONLY as long as it’s programmed in your 🧬 genetics (DNA). A simple google search of the 3 phases of hair growth or a search of the anagen phase and you will learn that NOT everyone can grow waist length hair. Why don’t y’all smart women posting all these hair tutorials and hair related comments know this? Yall probably didn’t also know that African (black) hair grows the slowest on average and it’s the weakest of all races. Asian hair usually is the strongest and grows the fastest and even the longest compared to other races. Google it. 😂
You and the OP and many others are totally clueless about the 3 phases of hair growth. Google search the anagen phase. It’s one of the 3 phases and it’s the phase that determines how long your hair will grow. And black hair is the most fragile and grows the slowest. Asians hair is the strongest and grows the fastest. Genetics determines the length. Educate yourself. 😂
Awesome video, Nica ! So many preconceived ideas about our hair. People always ask me how come I'm growing hair if I have afro hair 😒. Job well done and I enjoyed☺️!
This was very informative, great presentation as well. It should have been mentioned, though, that genetics also determine the length of each hair's anagen phase, or growing phase, whether it be 3 years- all the way to 7 years. This will result in your hair reaching a terminal length each time, after which it will shed, and start all over again, for the genetically determined period of time.
Not all people with wavy, curly, coily hair are from Africa. People in Figi,Melanesia, Australia, India and the Americas (indigenous copper colored people of Turtle Island the Niiji misidentified as African American black colored mulatto negro) etc can also have such hair textures. (Rev 7:9,10)

More golden nuggets!! Thank you !!❤❤❤
You’re a real life rapunzel! 💜🧡 and thanks for the information. It makes sense!
Lol I have always thought Rapunzel was a African name just sounds so ethic 😂😂😂
Always looking forward to your posts! I learn so much and have started to really appreciate my hair more because of your educational videos
I keep telling people it’s HAIR CARE PRACTICES! Not Genetics! People are just too LAZY to LEARN AND DO what it takes to GROW it!
Thank you!!!! Ppl need to understand this
Absolutely
It's Genetics!!!
If I had good genes there wouldn’t be anything to learn and growing hair wouldn’t feel like a part time job.🤷🏾♀️

Heavy on the “cannot strive through straight hair practices “ a word
Second, or third! 🤣 and precious Truth, sis! Thank you ❤️
Good informational video. Look forward to the upcoming one.

Afro hair tends to grow out and up. Africans never needed long floppy hair in the tropics. Nature reigns supreme.

Them genetics warriors anytime they see someone who has put in the work with long hair

Right now my hair is longer that it’s ever been and way past what I thought was what my genes would allow. I’m 12 years natural.
THANK YOU!!!

I still think it’s genetics. There’s plenty of black women and girls that easily grow long hair.
Do you know how those girls easily grow their hair? Or do you just assume they grow it easily. Besides if your hair grows fast it’ll look easy.
That part!

Genetics is a huge factor
Nope
What physical trauma in grooming
@@renerenewed You named off that list PROPER!
