I’m seeing a lot of questions about wire sizing. The unit runs at 11000 watts and runs at 240v. To calculate your amps divide 11000/240. This comes to roughly 45 amps which is why they suggest 50 amps. So you’ll need a 50 amp 2 pole breaker for your panel. Nec 310.16 says the wire must be sized at #8 copper at 75 degrees Celsius.
@@Glasswithattitude Check the tables then go at least one size heavier. I used #6, - it called for #8. Those who need to save money should first _carefully determine the correct wire to use_ , buy it, run it, then call an electrician to inspect/connect it.
@@lawrencecohen9715 You're smart to be concerned. 220v can be scary. If you've never done that work before and are really nervous about it I recommend consulting an electrician. Anyway, I think I broke my unit, I'm still looking for parts as it's out of warranty.
The green light is part of an optional circulation pump control. For that you need a second relay and refer to wiring diagram 4 of the 2021.01.06 manual.
Is this video from the company? If so how have they not been sued right out of business with this installation video? I mean from the start with the teflon tape to the end with the backyard wiring of a 240v system there wasn't anything that I saw that was to code or safe. To all of you DIY'ers out there looking to install this heater, please do not use this video as a guide on how to do it. You will likely electrocute yourself or your family.
Also of concern, the unit is rated as 2 phase, 240V at 50A. From the looks of it, they are running all 50A that should go through two wires, only going through one wire.
Need help, I have the 5.5kw unit power is getting to unit water is flowing to and inside heater, but heater light not coming on and temp stays at 66 degrees, can you help me
Need some help in regards to whether and how to remotely (preferably wirelessly but even wired is accepted) start and stop this heater. Also how to control the temperature remotely(wired or wirelessly)
Hi ! Maybe you can help me with a electric problem. I have a 240v coetas pool heater end I have not been able to connect it. The water heater has 4 wires (3 red and one blue) I red, II red, III red and blue, and from the circuit breaker (black, red and white. The red and green light in the unit don’t turn on . Thank you
Can you help me, I just install one of 15kw, the machine starts, but I cannot get that the heating button works, there are some with the same problem? Could be the flow rate? The machine only reads the temperature but does not heat, please help me
This is more of a what not to do video. Please ppl, do not just wrap 240v wire and tape it. = bad! Please don’t mount heaters on stools while loosely being connected to said wires. … think about it… you have a high water / moisture pool house in this video with plumbing all over the place. Someone trips or knocks that thing over… wire gets disconnected… buzz buzz … go meet your maker.
Does anyone here know how to prepare the heater? I already connected the 2 phases, the neutral and the earth ground, the heater just turns on, but the light bulb does not turn on where it says heating :( can someone help me
Alguien de aquí sabe cómo hacer prender el calentador? Ya conecte las 2 fases, el neutro y la tierra física, nomás prende el calentador, pero no prende el foco donde dice calentando :( alguien me puede ayudar?
Domingo Rios u don’t just tell someone up the wire and possible the breaker ask what size breaker is needed and ask what size wire they are using before u potential burn someone’s house down
i used on the angle and also - before mounted permanently - was on the side. worked. all of the problem in these - can be the sensor inside the u-pipe - water channel inside the box, but this generation don't have any moving part inside - sensor for the stream - is electronic or somehow made without any lever or other moving part, so position doesn't matter. but, anyways - this my personal opinion and i'm not technician or installer... do what you want to do :) better be sure on breaker - give a little more amps. mine was changed couple times . 18 kw heater - 20a - worked for few months and started to overheat. maybe the quality... replaced with 25 - no problem. good luck!
someone needs to teach this guy how to use teflon tape...im not exaggerating...he literally started wrapping the threads with the teflon tape at 0:50 and does not finish until after 2:00 in the video...how the hell is the company he works for supposed to make money when he uses a $5 roll of teflon tape for each and every joint...you have got to be joking...there is not a roll of teflon tape anywhere near this guy in a 50 mile radius...dude has to stop at 7 hardware stores to get enough teflon tape to install something simple like a water heater...unreal!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I bought this heater for Argentina.... here we have 220v at oulets.... but I saw that the heater needs 50Amper to work??? is it possible? Common home connections doesn't have that power....... Thanks!
WTF! That was so sketchy. The irregular cut outs for the inlet and outlet because they dont have the correct machine to just punch the correct sized hole, that packing tape wrapped around the wires that are just twisted together, entire roll of ptfe tape per nipple, the only thing missing is a guy cutting metal with a grinder using is bare feet to hold the metal...
that's too funny ! I hope someone doesn't buy this and wires it just like the guy in this video. what a shock their going to get when they flip the switch . 220V Yikes!

Just splice L1 and L2 to one phase then L3 and N to the other phase.
you need 3 Phase electrical like industrial most houses are single phase

Looks like there is no neutral required, so 12/2 would be fine. Black tape on both ends of the white wire to show it's a hot and you are good to go

Wire directly to your panel. It needs tons of current. Never even TRY a standard outlet.

Yes, depending on the model and where you live and how quickly you need the water heated. . I got the biggest 27 one.
