No such choice in Windows Media Player 11 app. What a shock. Microsoft removing or rearranging tool locations in their updates for no good reason.

Maybe you can help me with this problem- My Windows media player that I downloaded on my Windows 11 pc doesn't have any of the stuff on the screen like you have. It doesn't show Files, View, Play, tools, Help, or anything else like yours does. It only has the play rewind, and a few other things on the bottom. When I try to download the player again, it says that I already have it, but if I try to uninstall it, it doesn't appear in the uninstall programs list in the control panel. It's as if the computer doesn't recognize that it is there, yet it shows up in my app list. Can you give me any advice on how to rectify this?

Hi there, thank you for your question! Open Windows Media Player, right-click on the top bar of the player, and select Show menu bar from the context menu that appears. This should make the menu bar visible, which contains the options for Files, View, Play, Tools, and Help. If this doesn’t work, you can try toggling the menu bar using the keyboard shortcut CTRL + M. Regarding the issue of uninstalling Windows Media Player, it’s possible that the app is installed as a built-in app in Windows 11 and cannot be uninstalled. However, you can try resetting the app to its default settings by following these steps: Open Settings on your Windows 11 PC, click on Apps, scroll down and click on Windows Media Player, click on Advanced options, and click on Reset. This should reset the app to its default settings and may resolve the issue you’re experiencing.

Hi there, thank you for your question! . If you are unable to find the "Download codecs automatically" option in Windows Media Player, you can try enabling it through the Windows Settings, using a third-party media player that supports a wide range of codecs, or installing a codec pack. Please note that Windows Media Player is a legacy application, and Microsoft has been gradually phasing it out in favor of other media players, so the options and features may change in future updates.
