If you insert a USB or a memory card on your TV and the video is not playing, depending on your TV, there are a few issues you could be facing:
1. The video is there, but the audio or the video is not supported.
2. The video file is completely missing.
3. The video file is playing very slowly, or it's lagging in between.
4. The video file is there, but you can't play it due to an unsupported format.
All of the issues define the same issue. There is a problem with the video extension.
Being a non-techy person, there is a straightforward solution. Converting the video into a supported file format. How do we do that?
Well, the video is all about that. We will learn to fix the file format/unsupported audio codec/unsupported video codec issues on your Samsung, Sony, LG, and any other smart TV.
I will test the video on Samsung and Sony smart TVs, but the solution should work on all the TVs.

On Windows 10, Open Video in VLC -> Playback -> Renderer -> Choose your Sony TV

It is called cost cutting tv companies wants to compete and make their tv cheaper so they make the tv procesor and stuff cheap so the tv will be cheap beacause they think people will buy tv with better resolution with laggy interface then having a bad resolution with a smooth interface

It's a problematic fix, a sub 1gb file wound up being 1.6gb after adding a 24kb subtitles file, the video compression in vlc seriously sucks. The handbrake app solution keeps the file size element under control

I had this issue with a samsung TV, codec unsupported. I got VLC and followed what you showed. Still same problem. After looking into it more and going to samsung for the manual. I noticed it only supports 30fps, not 60fps, which is how I recorded the movie on my PC. So, I converted it to 30 fps from 60 fps. plays fine now. You didn't touch on the fps being set to 30, just wanted to add that.

Its takes lots of time...if you converting movie of 2hrs it takes 2:30 hrs to convert..instead you can download any cracked or modded software from telegram or website to convert file extension for free in 5 to 10 min
Look at the place where we usually look the time left for a film..it will be loading as if a film is currently going on until it finishes!!

Backup them in your PC then format it
You have to convert your usb type from exfat to fat32 then only your pendrive can work

Are both different? You should be selecting the one that you want to watch. If both are the same, check the quality. Choose the high quality one.

For audio, you need to change the audio codec. Try converting in VLC,. If that does not work, you will need a different converter.

Mobile apps can convert too, but not movies.

You can try premium converters. Those are faster as they use GPU.

If you had that issue you are not following his instructions correctly it worked for me
The application showed a tab saying that it has shortened the runtime in an unsual way. When I closed the tab, the conversion stopped and it kept showing loading. Plz help.

Yes...On VLC. I tried once again, but on 2 hrs 20 mins mark it showed the same tab again. (The Video that I was converting was 2 hrs and 35 mins long)

Rename or convert? If the converting does not work, try a different format. If you are just renaming the files, it won't work with videos.

I think, your TV can only support 24 FPS videos. Try converting and if it does not work, you might need to compress the video to reduce the fps
