That is a great piece SD! You really take the extra steps in making art. I love to pour myself (mostly copper), and love to watch others pouring videos! The ripples are my favorite.
I just got a kiln ! I never was really interested in pouring, but lately I started thinking about it. I am going to start with beer cans, just because I have plenty, and I want to play with them. I really don't know what to expect, but i think I got a good kiln. I really am getting excited, tomorrow I will try it out, and just see how it works. i know nothing, and the instructions only say how to put it together, not how to use it. Once I get my beer cans melted, I'm sure that I'll be ready for Silver. I'll try all the techniques on Aluminum first. Right now, just kind of wondering how long propane lasts for smelting. I think what I'm doing costs more than what I would get for just recycling them. I have a LOT of cans, I want to at least make them into plain bars, and learn about molds after that. Thanks a whole lot for doing videos like this, I will look for other pouring videos that you've done, I am paying more attention to them now. Have a great weekend!
I know that was a long post. I really had no interest in pouring, but I guess anyone can if they want to, of course quality depends on the experience of trial and error. Like you said, if you don't like it, melt it again! I don't see how I can go wrong, and I'm looking forward to doing some neat stuff. I got my kiln today, an "Amazon Special," but it looks like what I expected. I will definitely use it to understand the process. I think it would be cool to make custom bars or rounds for friends and family, even with Aluminum, something that is shaped or embedded, which is personal to them. I do give Silver for Christmas, and I'd like to do something more special. Thanks again, and I will watch more of your pouring videos!
This is so interesting! I love learning; but not everyone is gifted at teaching. You have slways been an extremely clear communicator. You don’t waste words. You are understsndable the first time. How cool is this. I have never seen this done before.
That liver of sulfur will also bring out bright blues lavender and purple in matt type coins for example silver shield BU rounds. Give it a try I promise you will like it.
This is super interesting. As someone who casts my own lead, would a lead crucible with a bottom pour valve work for silver as well? A brand new one, of course. Don’t want to mix the metals.
Hi SilverDragons! Thank you for the tutorial. I'm still on the fence about if I want to do some pouring. Have you done a video on the equipment and personal protective equipment that you use?
love that Jack mold. thank you for stepping us through your process. liver of sulfur is something that i had not heard of until now. could you post a link to where you get for fav molds from, please? i have 4 standard small bar and round molds, 1 buddha mold, and an engraving kit to add my own details. where can i shop for such molds. cheers!
How much would you charge for a primium over spot if you were to sell it? Is there a particular way to calculate, or just what ever you choose? Thats really cool.
This would be a great activity for a coin shop owner, with or without employees, to do during slow times. SD, have you ever done war nickels in that same solution in the tumbler before? I bought 4000 of them and I cannot stand the fact that they are so disgusting looking. I’ve tried all sorts of things short of a tumbler. It is very hard to make them look good. Thanks
@@SilverDragons2 idk. We were casting silver in '04 and our surfaces came out super clean using 20 mule teFlux. Detergent/ flux. But like you say, they were invested ceramic shells.
Might be a lot of value but unfortunately I’m sure the resale value probably isn’t worth what you paid. I’m sure you can make that money back easy making poured items.

Very nice pour. I was wondering why you dont use a dremel to clean it up and polish it.
This is amazing! 👏👏👏
Thanks! 🙏🏽

Hey appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed the vid 💪🏽🐉
Awesome video. You should pour some of your channel rounds now. Been waiting awhile for you to put those back on your website.
Hmm I’ll consider 🙏🏽 thanks for watching

Hmmm interesting 👀
Yessssssss ❤❤❤

Thanks SD! I want to pour Roman Denarii to replicate the 30 pieces of silver Judas received. Excellent info, great vid.
❤ I have one of your 2A Silver pours. It is a favorite!
Sweet!
Great video thanks for the info!
You’re welcome… and thanks for watching 🙏🏽
Very cool!
Thanks 🙌🏽
I like the pistol mold. you do a great job brother.
Thanks bro 🙏🏽
I’m going to try the steel wool. I’ve been timing my flame to prevent the oxidation and outgassing. I don’t use an electric furnace.

Glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏽

Yeah check out this video ⬆️
What about Sterling? Does that pour the same way? What are the differences?
Where do you purchase your molds from?
I get mine from eBay 👍🏽
Excellent video SD! I'm learning. Thank you! Cool piece!
Awesome! Thanks so much for the reply my friend. Huge fan of all your content. Whether it's here or your main account. God bless. 😊@@SilverDragons2
Where do you get all the pour supplies? The molds, the detergents, the polish etc?
All of its available on Amazon.
Does the Liver of Sulfer work on copper as well?
Do you have a link for the bipod you have for your torch?

Do you have any tips for getting consistent measurements for pours? We are pouring a lot of bars but get inconsistent weights on them.
Do you lose any weight in the melting process?
How much would you charge for a primium over spot if you were to sell it? Is there a particular way to calculate, or just what ever you choose? Thats really cool.
Where is the razorback mold. I will buy a silver one ounce razorback.
Where did you get the TR OZ 999 FS stamp? And what size is it?
How do you make 3D figurines?
Ship to Canada 🇨🇦 in the future please
👍🏽
Wondering where do u go for a custom stamp if u don't mind sharing?
stampyours.com/ 👍🏽

Good thing you didn't use any of those world elite molds like the Mason or pyramid eye. They have enough silver I'm sure.
Why no borax?
Good question… borax is only needed for pouring with a ceramic dish and a torch 👍🏽

Riple OCD. It's a real thing.
For sure 😅

Speaking as a mold tooling engineer of 40+ years, a polish job on your molds looks terrible. However manufactured those molds is screwing you.
