    Some people just have a gift for teaching others. This Brother knows how to convey the most complex/abstract information so that it is digestible. Great presentation! Ahhhh, also in retrospect now I know why my childhood friend who was a drummer was so much of a better DJ, he not only already knew how to count beats but he had also developed limb independence from practicing drums so he could use both hands to scratch and blend with ease while I was stuck using the "reach around" technique to scratch. After studying drums I actually realized that drumming directly compliments learning to DJ.

    Great video. Could you make a video that runs through all your Serato settings to make this happen? For example, "Maintain Sync on Track Load", and how to get your track to start at the right point (Start from 1st Cue Point)? This seems easy, but I am always looking for ways to make things easier on my end. Curious how you have most of your Serato settings "set". Thank you for all the videos.

    You're only talking of loading the next song. How about finding it, or is this only about playing prepared sets? If using using sync and playing a prepared set list, I wouldn't survive an hour on my gigs. Here in Sweden Hip Hop and R'n'b is considered more or less underground so unless you play the super classics, you will be playing more up beat club music, but you will never know what works until you're in the club doing the job, and even then, a full 5-7 hour night will change as people comes and goes. This kind of mixing would be a few minutes here and there when you know what music to play in the moment, and happens to have a routine of songs that will fit.

      I use sync for quick transitions like this, and I have crates set for sure with the music already selected. This is the only time I encourage sync, unless you plan to stay in the same exact bpm range for your quick transitions.

    Do you have to do any beat grid adjustment to keep your sync on point?

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  2 роки тому

      I think it’s a smart idea in general to edit beat grids so they’re right, but sync works on the actual transients (particular dynamics of sounds) or beat grids, so in general, the software will figure out how to sync it correctly 9/10.
