Comparing housing costs of Charlotte with NY and San Diego is not a fair comparison.

Those are the top places people move here from, I give the people what they want. Thanks for watching and commenting!

but how can you even afford a 1400$ “studio” making 14$ an hr down there plus getting a car? I wanna move down there (from NYC) but it’s like impossible financially. I’m tired of feeling stuck here in the city. Nowhere is affordable !

I mean you can find studios for like $1200 outside of Uptown where you would still need a car but its a little cheaper than Uptown. You can easily make $16-$18 an hr if you find the right job. if you never look then yeah you'll be stuck with $14. You might still need a roommate but youd also need one it not 2 for NYC. Just understand if you're making $30 in nyc thats $5k a month which is the entire cost of rent alone. $15 an hr here is $2400 which is 2x the cost of rent. The wages make more sense in charlotte even if they are less.

Good to know. I’ve seen some apartments at like 900-1000 . So i’d probably opt for those in the meantime. But thank you !

There are many options less than 1400/mo, and when I first moved here I actually found a room to rent for $600/mo for a few months while I got my feet under me. Also many warehouse jobs here (my previous industry) start at $18-$22+/hr for new forklift operators with no experience. Easily make $30/hr or more after a few years. Hope this helps!

Get a 2br and a roommate. That is always going to be cheaper than a studio.

@@norwegianblue2017 sir with all due respect I don’t think anyone wants roommate lol as an adult. I need my privacy

It would better to compare similar size metro areas. You can compare any midsize city and it will look good against those 4.
