DIY Low-Profile Drawer System for SUV with Pop-up Tabletop
Вставка

- I wanted to build low-profile storage drawers in the back of my 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner (on a budget). With this fairly universal design, you get two 5” deep drawers that not only look slick inside your cargo area, but also folds flat along the top of your 2nd row seating WITHOUT needing to store separate pieces. Everything is packed into this sleek, efficient, and affordable design. I was able to store my camera gear but repurpose it for camping if I wanted to (complete with a USB powered sink!). The drawers are 42" wide and fit in most large SUVs so don't think this is just for a 4Runner!
What are you going to build in your SUV?

Great video perfect music and excellent final product probably going to take a bit longer for me without benefit of the master carpenter dad and his magic machine.. He made it look to easy definitely a master of his craft 🙌 thanks for the video
You had me a super easy in the cnc 😂
Haha I'm so sorry. But you can certainly still cut everything with a jigsaw or table saw. I wanted to speed things up.
Looks perfect… love the low profile. That is all I need, just something to secure some stuff that that is pretty flat.
Very nice setup! Exactly what I want to build. Just wish my dad was still around to help me out.
All your talking head inserts look great! and the Box you built is awesome!!
Nice
yea super simple...
Haha my apologies, as simple as I could make it but not just be a plywood platform sliding around in the trunk.
@@sidneyreed Sure helps to have an amazingly skilled dad with a well equipped workshop. 🙂
Your dad is a master carpenter using the cnc? hahaha hope you are joking.
this is cool! How do you like it?
I just put it to work on a film set this last week! Still holding together perfectly and super useful. Love it.
Do you have a link for the plans?
I do! They are available for my Patreon members. You can find me at HelloSidneyReed on there!
Don’t put DIY in the title if you use a CNC machine! I’m sick of clicking DIY videos that require a machine/tools that cost upwards of 20k!
DIY means do it yourself. Whether you use a tablesaw, jigsaw, or cnc, someone still needs to cut the wood somehow - just pick your tool. The cnc speeds things up but as long as you are somewhat adept with a tablesaw, the end results will be the same.
Why justify yourself and what you do to lames? They will never understand because they are too busy being bitter at life. @@sidneyreed
"It's not diy if you need a cnc machine"..... God forbid you have to use some elbow grease and imagination to cut the parts by hand....
