They are not his. He never wears any of them.
They are not worth $100k. First of all he bought them used and at a discount, secondly if he had to sell them, only the world time is easily sold. If he was to sell the 3 Calatrava's I think he would be doing well to get $8k each from his dealer friends for them. The annuel callender in theory is a $20k watch but looks so dated, it will not be popular at all, I hope he secured a big discount when he purchased it.
Needs a sports watch. Too narrow a collection. Where’s a Nautilus or Aquanaut? Oh right, can’ t get hold of them! Definitely think a Rolex will be back in his collection soon. Also where’s the Omega Speedmaster, shouldn’t have got rid of that.

To be fair they are nice watches ( although to the average punter they're completely indistinguishable from any generic watch you can pick up from anywhere for less than $100). That aside, if the only thing I could claim after 32 yrs of 'work' is that I've accumulated 6 watches I'd feel like a complete bloody failure personally. Also, Archie Bollock's I bet you don't even own them all outright do you? Verdict? Fake News fuckah!

I love the annual calendar, the classic watch with the small second hand and world time watches. I love yellow Gold The others all look similar. The others look like something worn in the early 1900s and I really do not like white gold. I like yellow Gold. White gold looks the same as silver.

Advice on the Patek Philllipe Collection. hello Archie, I was thinking, why don't you keep 2 and trade 2 others for a Patek Chronograph like a 5070 or some sort of chrono.
Having 5 Pateks is special....so is hanging bed sheets as curtains held with paper clips....your priorities are definitely in "proppa orda"!
The 5035 has lume because it's not a dress watch - it's a general purpose watch, and a stunning one at that. The World Timer is not a dress watch either - it's a travel watch. Paying a lot of money for a gold watch doesn't make it a dress watch, it makes it a gold watch you paid a lot of money for. The 5196 is 100% dress watch, the other two Calatravas are dress watches at a push. I'd kill for that 5296. Nice to see you haven't dumped the JLC Reverso yet.

I'm not going to comment on the personal attacks. These watches are quality creme de la creme. They are grown-up watches and grown-ups appreciate them. Boys buy sports watches and dive watches and flieger watches because they fantasise about what they'd be if they ever grew up.

When you go into a Patek shop and look around these are the watches you will always find in the displays just like the other common Rolex watches. Nice watches but one dress watch is enough; of all the ones shown I like the the WG 5127. Flick them all and they the new weekly calendar.

This whole about face away from Rolex probably has more to do with Archie being put on the Patel Philippe payroll than it does outdoing the rodents. I don”t believe for even one second his official reason for loading up on old-man watches.

Ryan Banks well, Archie did have a face-to-face meeting with the CEO of Patel Philippe, so it is within the realm of possibility that Archie is on their payroll. This about face away from Rolex would make more sense.

Sorry, but Patek white gold looks indistinguishable from stainless steel, especially that 5127 in GREY? gold. At least Rolex white gold looks like gold, with a beautiful lustre and sheen. Why would anyone ( apart from Archibald) want three dress watches that from five feet away look virtually identical?
Realistically how much could arch expect for those 5 Patek's if he had to liquidate them?
Low estimate, 20k for the world time , 15k for the annual calendar, 12k for the 5196, and maybe 12k for the 5127 and 5296 each. so we haev about 70k of watches here. in euro that is
I guess 60k eur is about right. Its funny I started watching Archie because I liked his advise on not going overboard on entry level watches because of what you will loose when trying to upgrade. Although it looks like he has taken his advise to a whole new extreme.
@@Weakeyedominant All of these watches except for the 5196 are very hard to move and he will take a hit on all of them should he try to sell them. He completely abandoned his principles. 2 years ago when he had a 1 watch per brand collection all of his pieces could have been moved at a profit within a week. Now, we are looking at maybe 10k loss if he was seriously needing money.
