Great video bud. I've got a 8 month GSP and having problems with her pulling and jumping on people. My last GSP didn't do this, but when I trained her there were much less distractions. I will try your method out. thanks for the great content.

Fantastic video Will, I am currently training second GSP. The first one basically was trained with a look. My second one, is highly scent driven and much less easily trained. Thank you for your guidance. It was Jason Corey that led me to your channels.

Hi Will, I've recently come across your videos and products. I'm hooked, I've only just today found the gsp training. Fantastic, a question I will as is does the same apply training an EP?
I'm having trouble with pulling and recall and hoping these will help. Thank you

I'm going to be getting my first GSP puppy soon. My plan was to use a longer retractable leash for early socialization, walks etc. and then a different, shorter training lead for when we start to work on heel. Do you think that would be enough of a distinction to not confuse the dog? I don't feel comfortable not having him on a lead when we are in public, especially when he's still a puppy.

Your videos are great! I'm looking into getting a GSP and working towards educating myself on all of the training methodologies I can. I will be training towards of leash bird hunting. Will you be doing anything on hunting training?

Hey Theresa, thanks for watching! We'd recommend having a plan in place before you bring your pup home so you can start training on day one. We've got a number of free training videos over on our dedicated training channel, Fenrir Canine Training: ua-cam.com/channels/6z0E8nSfCvelwA3bon_phg.html. We also have a free short course that gives you and overview of puppy training you might find helpful if you're looking for a bit more information: leader.fenrircanineleaders.co.uk/ppp1624230184001, and for our full courses you can find them on our website: fenrircanineleaders.com 😊

We just inherited our sons 5 year old gsp. Never any training! Is it possible to train him NOT to pull? To heel? Very frustrating so far, but am grateful to find Will Atherton!😂
    Any tips, from anyone!??😢

I have my GSP puppy in an apartment in Los Angeles. The only time he gets to stiff around outside is when I take him on walks. I have to keep him on a leash outside, how would I teach him to heel when I also want to give him that time to explore?

You've probably figured this out by now! But a lot of experienced GSP owners have advised me to use the walk for just getting to where they can run around and sniff. So top behaviour for the walk to the park or wherever... Then the reward will be treats as normal, but also letting them off the lead to do their thing :)

Hey Will, I have a GSP names brüne and he is the nicest boy at about 75 pounds and almost 2 years old. The question I have for you is simple but complex. Brüne if friendly to everyone except the mail lady. He will run right over and bark! Even nipp and try to bite her shoes. But once I show up and talk to her he calms right down. Anyone else walking around the house or with their pets doesn’t get that treatment. What do you believe the problem could be?

Too much talking, no showing how.
